Chapter 604: A Large Scale Diagnosis

Just like his name, Curator’s reputation had made its mark within the beast appraising community as well.

Those who knew Curator surely knew of his proficiency in this area. Those who didn’t know him personally had come to witness his flair. Some had even come to seek his help because they had previously run into trouble.

Now that Curator was about to treat the tiger monster, Hu Yuzhen, many people crowded over and held their breaths.

Among them included Jin Chi.

He was perhaps the only monster present with a cultivation level on par with an immortal’s. As he was also a sworn brother of Tiger Taoist and Lin Jin, his status here was above-average.

All of the monsters in Arid Continent had heard of Jin Chi’s name but only a scarce few had seen him in person. Now that Jin Chi had taken on a human form, although many couldn’t recognize him, some still could.

“It’s the great monster, Jin Chi!”

“Oh my, even he’s here!”

“That’s not all. Didn’t you see? Jin Chi has saluted Curator as a lesser just now. It means that Curator might very well be an immortal.”

“I think so too.”

“Great minds think alike!”

The two powerful monsters exchanged a sympathizing glance before turning their attention back to Curator. The latter was now holding a shiny needle, and for some reason, he stayed silent as if in deep thought.

Indeed, Lin Jin was contemplating.

Earlier, he had used the needle to examine Hu Yuzhen’s injuries but the result made him frown.

The situation was much more complicated than he thought.

There was a blood talisman inside Hu Yuzhen’s body.

The blood talisman had been placed there by an expert and it was negatively affecting the victim’s mind.

Lin Jin was able to tell the blood talisman’s origin. If his intuition was correct, this must be the doing of ‘that guy’.

With this in mind, Lin Jin invoked a spell.

The silver needle he left inside Hu Yuzhen’s body reacted at once and Hu Yuzhen swayed to the side and collapsed. With his quick reflexes, Tiger Taoist immediately appeared beside Hu Yuzhen to hold her in his arms.

“Take her inside to rest. Her injury is rather unique so I will treat her with greater care later,” ordered Lin Jin. Tiger Taoist nodded at once. If he had to be honest, he loved this order.

He already somewhat fancied Hu Yuzhen, so now that they had an opportunity to get closer, how could he possibly let it slip away?

By the time Tiger Taoist was done laying Hu Yuzhen down to rest, many monsters have gathered around Curator to seek treatment.

These monsters were led here by his reputation. Although Hu Yuzhen’s situation had been strange, it wasn’t enough for them to doubt Curator’s abilities.

After all, a person’s name was as important as the shade of a tree.

This was especially so after an old monster was instantly cured by Curator with a wave of his hand. Many monsters who initially intended to watch the show swarmed over quickly.

It was so lively that one would easily mistake this place as a beast appraiser’s consultation hall. It just looked like a large-scale diagnosis center.

Of course, Lin Jin wasn’t going to resolve every issue. He already declared he would only treat illnesses and injuries. As for queries on evolution and the like, his hands were tied.

Even still, there were tons of monsters seeking help so Lin Jin examined them all and swiftly treated them. It wasn’t long before he finally cleared the line.

Some of these monsters were either burdened with old illnesses or damaged their core during their cultivation process. Some had wounds that were a result of recent fights.

To Lin Jin, these weren’t issues at all and were easy to resolve, especially with his newly learned Psyche Recast technique.

He could easily mend the meridians of these injured monsters. It was such an effective technique that a partially paralyzed monster was able to stand up again. It was at that moment that these monsters acknowledged Curator’s skill. While Dark Wind Monster Sect was a newly established organization, the fact that Curator was their backer made this new sect invincible. If anyone tried to harm the sect, these monsters would surely be the first to stand up against the enemy.

By now, Jin Chi couldn’t wait any longer.

After witnessing Curator’s astonishing performance, he steeled his heart to go over and bow at him.

The other monsters were sensible enough to make way for Jin Chi.

Stunned, Lin Jin asked, “Great Monster Jin Chi, what are you doing?”

Before asking the question, Lin Jin had secretly examined Jin Chi’s health. The latter’s aura was rich, his cultivation firm, and his body was free of any ailments. Simply put, he was fit as a fiddle.

That being said, he shouldn’t have any request for Lin Jin.

Amid Lin Jin’s confusion, Jin Chi voiced his dilemma and Lin Jin finally learned the answer.

So it was about Jin Chi’s son.

As an eminent monster with a thousand years’ worth of cultivation, Jin Chi had a son about two hundred years ago. The child was precious to him, and he cared for him dearly. He couldn’t wait to teach his son everything he knew.

However, as man plans, God laughs. A few years back, Jin Chi’s son, whom we’ll call Jin Chi Jr. for now, secretly ventured outside to play only to be badly beaten up. After barely escaping the incident alive, he returned home and fainted without saying a word.

For the next few years, Jin Chi had tried everything to prolong his son’s life. He had exhausted countless expensive herbs and treasures, and he did everything he could think of.

Despite all that, all he could do was keep his son alive. Jin Chi Jr. never woke up from his coma, much less tell Jin Chi who the enemies were.

This incident had become Jin Chi’s greatest concern.

He had long heard of Curator’s name. He even sent his subordinates to track down Curator’s whereabouts but to no avail. After hearing that Curator was one of Dark Wind Monster Sect’s grandmasters, he came eagerly and had been willing to befriend Lin Jin. He wanted to get to know Curator through Lin Jin.

Curator was probably his son’s last hope.

Jin Chi had been cautious too. He didn’t speak up at first but opted to observe in silence. After actually witnessing Curator’s phenomenal abilities, he knew the time had finally come to open up about the matter.

“And that is the case. I beg Curator to have the benevolence to save my poor son.” Jin Chi was bowing so low that his head almost touched the ground.

If Curator could really save his son, forget bowing, he could even kneel and prostrate before Curator.

As a great monster, it was important for one to protect his pride and dignity. In most cases, even when faced with real immortals, he would never lower his head for them.

For the sake of his son, he was willing to lower his pride.

For instance, he was now lowering his head to beg for Curator’s assistance.

Fortunately, Lin Jin wasn’t an egoistic person, nor did he like spoiled brats. Since he and Jin Chi were sworn brothers, he would never refuse Jin Chi’s request.

Lin Jin said, “Great Monster Jin Chi, you need not show me such courtesy. Even if you and my disciple are not sworn brothers, I will still do all I can to help since you have come to me.”
