Chapter 2489 Enemies
I looked at the things I placed around the formation; everything needed to be perfect, a mistake, and I would end up wasting a precious one-time use artifact.
Gasp!
The formation and placing of things are perfect; seeing that, I was moved to activate the formation when I heard the big gasp around behind me. I unconsciously looked back, only to see there was a deep shock on Sarah's face with a hint of mild horror.
I shook my head, seeing that before turning to the formation, I have no business in her affairs, no interest in knowing why such emotions have appeared on her face, or it might just be an act. She is not above doing that when it comes to me.
I just want to leave this place as soon as possible and never see her face again.
"Grimms; they somehow have entered the final sanctum," Said Sarah, and it stopped me.
Nothing she might have said had stopped me, but this had stopped me; even my pride is not bigger than the welfare of my race, and Grimms are the only existence that threatens it, and I wouldn't stop till I killed every single one of them
"Don't joke with me, Sarah; you will regret it," I said coldly as I turned to her again. There was no sign of Grimm on the way, and now she is telling me there are Grimm Monsters in a final sanctum and, most importantly, how she knew the Grimms have entered the final sanctum.
"I may not like you, Micheal, but even I wouldn't fall such low to make the excuses about the Grimm Monsters," She said angrily. I really have doubts about that, but I did not voice it out.
"How do you know the Grimms have appeared in the final sanctum? I am not seeing any window here that gives me the view of a final sanctum," I asked with a hint of mocking, which made her angry as I expected, but to my surprise, she did not curse out loud at me, eyes are surprisingly calm.
"You do not need to know that; just know that Grimms have entered the inner sanctum, and now they are breaking the restrictions there," She said, not telling me anything, and I was not surprised.
I kind of expected that, and even a big smile appeared on my face for a moment which made me frown.
"You listened to me, Sarah. If you need my help, you will tell me everything understands, or I will go, and you can deal with those Grimms on your own," I said directly, looking into her eyes, telling her how serious I was about the threat.
I know Sarah well; she is a calm and collected person, and only when it comes to me does she show her worse behavior. I never understood the reason for it.
"You will not do that; it will be a war crime," She said and hearing that a smile on my face became even bigger with the dare.
Off course, I will not do that, but she did not have to know that, and I was really curious how she knew it. She knew not only about Grimms the moment they entered the final sanctum but also about the resources that were there.
We continued to stare at us for nearly a minute, daring each other, before finally, Sarah closed her eyes and took a deep break, before opening her eyes, and when she did, they were calm, without any anger toward me.
"There is a sword in the final sanctum; it used to belong to a war angel. I could see the final sanctum through it when I concentrate," She said before her eyes turned angry again.
"Now, I said it. Let's go. There are a lot of precious things there, especially that sword; we can not let the Grimms have that sword," She said, for the first time revealing the hint of desperation she was feeling.
"I hope you are hiding anything else, Sarah. If I find out, then I will leave, even if we are amidst fighting the Grimms," I warned and collected my things and destroyed the formation before appearing beside her.
"Open the door," I know she copied the formation key secretly. So, even though she did not have a key before, she now has it.
She glared at me before placing her gloved hand on the door and pushing.
Krrrrr!
A couple of seconds later, the door began to open; I could see a hint of surprise appearing in her eyes which she quickly hid. It seemed like some part of her had not expected that the formation key I had created would work, but it had obviously worked.
As the door opened, we got a look at the third floor, and I have to say, those flower people did not disappoint.
This room contains artifacts, more like memorabilia pieces where drawings of asar race man painted on it, showing many glorious moments, but mixed within are plates showing the horrors it did. The details are really amazing on both sides of the artifacts.
These artifacts may be commemorative, but there are really powerful ones there; one, in particular, had caught my eyes.
It is a golden plate from which I could sense very powerful spatial energy. I am sure very powerful spatial type metal had been used to create this artifact, and I very much want it; the spatial artifacts are really rare, and each one of them is precious.
It is not just me who had an eye on the artifact; Sarah too, but we could not get them.
These artifacts are guarded and would need considerable time to break; the time we do not have, considering the Grimms are breaking restrictions in the final sanctums where the greatest treasures and resources are placed.
Sarah finally summoned her metallic wings, which looked extremly real, making her look even more amazing than before.
Flap Flap Flap!
As her wings appeared, she flapped them gently, and the grey purple energy released from them and began to spread throughout the hall.
Faint pink-silvery waves also came out of my hands and spread around the hall, searching for any traps that would be placed there.
"Its clear," Sarah said a minute later and walked forward. There are no traps in this room, which is not surprising considering all the precious things here, including those left behind by the flower people, are protected under the powerful formation.
