When Annie grew a little, she learned to crawl on the ground. Anything that could be grasped in her
hands was a novel thing in her eyes. She was willing to observe and research as if she regarded
herself as a thinker.
Then Annie was a toddler. The 248th day was specifically marked on the photo album because on this
day Annie had learned to walk. Although she was toddling, she didn‘t need an adult to help her walk.
There were early signs showing Annie was smarter than the average kid.
He turned page by page. Some pictures were about Annie’s birthdays every year. Some photos
recorded Annie ran in the community, played in the park and participated in activities in the
kindergarten. Most of them showed that Annie was so cute and was born with a model according to the
poses she did. Without him, Oliver took good care of their daughter and taught her to be optimistic.
Alan thought his mother must have seen his child, such a cute little granddaughter. But he wondered
why she was so cruel to him and let his child live in the outside for several years. When he thought of
this, he felt so terrible.
For a long time, the buzzing sound disappeared as if people had left without a sound. Then Oliver woke
up.
She sat up, rubbed her eyes and looked at Alan, "Didn't you find it, did you?"
Alan felt better when he turned around. Then he took the photo album and sat on the bed. He asked
Oliver to tell him the stories behind the photos.
Olive nestled in his arms and told him the little fun things about her daughter’s growth in the past years.
It made Alan laugh more and at the same time, he was very regretful that he missed his daughter‘s
growth.
While he noticed that there were many photos about Annie and her grandparents in the entire album,
he could not find a few of Oliver. Then he frowned, "Why do you take so few photos?"
"I, I'm busy taking pictures. See, my shots are technical, OK." Olive felt so proud for she was self-
taught.
"But I want to see how you look like in the past five years." Alan missed out on so much.
Olive uttered with a smile, "You see, I live a good life..."
She clearly knew that he was not referring to these, but she still told him in such a relaxed tone
because she didn't blame him. While Alan supposed that she was really a stupid girl, but he couldn't
help kissing her.
But at this moment, Annie knocked at the door and found Olive.
Then Olive and Alan startled.
"Annie wakes up." Olive patted him on the chest.
Alan was somewhat depressed, "Can't she sleep until dawn?"
"It's not always like that and there are always exceptions." Olive shrugged and pushed him away. As
she was ready to get out of bed, he pulled her back.
"I go to have a look."
Fortunately, there was no need to rush because they didn’t take off all their clothes.
When Alan opened the door, Mrs. Steele was persuading the little guy to sleep with her. But Annie still
wanted to sleep with Olive.
Mrs. Steele was a little embarrassed, "Well, Annie is getting used to sleeping with her mother and it's a
little troublesome."
Judging from Annie’s canny eyes, Alan knew that she was deliberate. Then he picked up his daughter
and smiled gently, "All right, it’s a good time for us to build a bond with you. Mom, you can go to bed
and we will take care of Annie."
As Mrs. Steele left, Alan closed the door. While Olive welcomed her with open arms. Then Annie ran
into her arms, "Mommy, I want to sleep with you."
Olive touched her face and found that she was sweating with the hair on her cheeks moist. "Did you
dream?"
Maybe it was still a nightmare. Otherwise, she wouldn't wake up so easily and sweat.
Annie nodded and bit her mouth. Then she whispered, "When I dreamed of rock climbing, that boy
named Sean Shen turned into a big monster and pushed me off the top of the rock...."
Alan patted Annie on her ass, "Did you dream that I became a superman to catch you?"
He was jealous of the little boy who was in his daughter's dream.
"Yes, I dreamt that you became a stinky salted egg rolling around on the ground." Annie laughed and
her horrified expression disappeared.
In fact, Alan became a Spiderman who woven a fine and soft web underneath and caught her safely.
As Annie dreamt about this, she woke up. However, she didn't want to let him know so quickly that she
had actually fallen in love with him in her heart because Chloe Malan's mom said that he didn't know to
cherish her if he was forgiven.
Alan was depressed because Annie was unkind to him at this moment.
