Annie stared at her weirdly.
“Mr. Hoyle, if I don’t smile, should I be crying instead?” Olive Steele tilted her head against the window.
“Don’t worry, mommy. I’m learning martial arts very hard now and I can protect you when I grow up.
Whoever dares to bully or make you cry, I’ll help you beat them.” Annie said aggressively.
But her daughter words’ warmed her.
Alan Hoyle rubbed his own nose. In the future, if his daughter fought with her mother, didn’t he have to
fight with her?
When they returned home and saw someone was missing for dinner, Olive Steele asked, “Where’s
Chloe Malan?”
Mrs. Steele answered, “She went out after answered a phone call. She said she had plan with a friend,
so we don’t have to wait for her.”
“Is Mommy Chloe going out on a date with Uncle?” asked Annie.
“Oh, right. Since that day, Aoba hasn’t come for meal for several days. Alan, has your brother moved
out?” Mrs. Steele asked. There had been no movements upstairs these days. Although Mrs. Hoyle was
a little unreasonable, they didn’t blame the children. He used to love to come and have a meal, but now
she couldn’t even get a glimpse of his shadow.
“He has moved. Uncle even promised to take me to climb mountain and pick mushrooms,” Annie said
with a slight disappointment.
Alan Hoyle smiled, “If he moves, he can’t pursuit your Mommy Chloe. Uncle has gone to do an
important matter for dad. He’ll probably be back tomorrow. Then you can go upstairs to play with him.”
“Then I want him to teach me painting.” Uncle had a lot of picture albums and she liked them very
much.
In the elegant coffee shop, Chloe Malan sipped her Blue Mountain coffee lightly, waiting for the man
sitting across her to speak.
She didn’t expect that Bruce Lynn would call her to meet her. At first she wanted to ignore, but on
second thought, why should she avoid him? She would appear in front of him looking fresh and
beautiful, telling this Lynn man that she lived well without him.
So that’s how she attended this meet.
“Chloe Malan, you’ve turned more beautiful,” Bruce Lynn didn’t hide the admiration in his eyes.
This woman was his ex-wife. Now that he thought about it, was it a mistake to divorce her? He had to
admit that sometimes he would still think of her. The divorce was indeed a little hasty back then to the
point that he didn’t know that his ex-wife had such a side.
The woman she was now full of confidence in her actions. She was no longer the woman who blindly
be submissive. He realized that he still longed for her.
Chloe Malan icily chuckled, “Thank you Mr. Lynn for the absurd praise, but I think the reason Mr. Lynn
specifically asked me out wasn’t to say such boring things to me.”
“Chloe Malan, I’m sorry about the divorce.”
The sudden apology surprised Chloe Malan. She stared at the man who had become a stranger
suspiciously, “Mr. Lynn, are you sick or drunk? You didn’t hit your head, right?”
He said such a crazy things.
“I know I’ve hurt you. I had promised to take care of you for the rest of my life, but I didn’t keep it. I can’t
stand the temptation outside. I always thought I could keep a mistress. And believed that even if you
found out, you definitely won’t fight with me because you loved me. But I never thought you would be
determine to divorce me.”
“Mr. Lynn, I think you’re wrong. I was just saying I wanted a divorce, but the one who was impatiently
drew up a divorce agreement and wanted to kick me out of the house was you,” Chloe Malan corrected
him.
When she just got a divorce, she felt hurt, sad, and even wanted to die. But now, when she looked
back, so what if she got a divorce?
Bruce Lynn awkwardly said, “Chloe Malan, I was impulsive. It was because you went to my company
and cause trouble, so I was so angry. But after we divorced, I just realized that no matter how good and
many women there are outside, it didn’t match to how you make me feel at ease when I come home.”
“Bruce Lynn, you’re beating around the bush. What are you trying to say?” She had to be crazy today
and that was why she agreed to meet with this man. Did he want to revive old relationship? Don’t even
dream about it.
That time when she walked out of the Lynn family, she had never thought of going back.
“Chloe Malan, let’s get married again. I realize I still love you. My heart has never let you go,” said
Bruce Lynn and he suddenly grabbed her fingers.
Chloe Malan felt a shiver ran down her spine and quickly withdrew her hands. She felt like she just
heard the funniest things, “Remarry?”
“Yes. Remarry,” Bruce Lynn argued. “I know that you are still alone since we divorced until now.”
“So you think my heart still has you?” What a joke. Who would stand there waiting for a man who had
betrayed her to look back? Not Chloe Malan. She would kick him out.
“Isn’t it?”
“No, asshole!” Chloe Malan slammed her palm on the table. If she wouldn’t need to pay for the damage
to flip the table, she would seriously flip it. Was there a man who was more inconsistent? He couldn’t
be thinking that everyone should willingly wait for him. Chloe Malan living her life wouldn’t move
backward or stand still, she would only just move forward.
“How can you speak out such foul word? You weren’t like this before,” Bruce Lynn was incredulous.
“I was faking it, and I don’t have to fake it now. I am being very polite now for not cursing you worse,”
Chloe Malan snorted. She really wanted to splash the cup of coffee to his face when she took her cup.
