Bai Weiwei headed to her resting chambers with a bounce in her step. Her shoulder had a stab wound from the attempted assassination.
If this were a different plane, she would have been lying flat by now.
In this plane, her body was surprisingly good.
The pain of her wound didn’t affect her.
In the resting chambers, an attendant waited with her head bowed.
Over the enormous dragon bed1 hung a gauze curtain.
Bai Weiwei, not thinking much, had just pulled the curtain aside to rest.
When she spotted a tall and slender figure, four limbs bound with silk, lying naked on the bed.
Under the dim yellow candlelight.
His long and toned legs were shining white like jade.
The man’s exquisite body had no bulging muscles, but it didn’t give people the sense of being a flabby white cut chicken2.
Beneath the white skin was a tense straining.
It was overwhelmingly sexy.
Bai Weiwei stood there stupidly for a moment before she realized something.
She had put on an act, spitting out common sayings of an overbearing emperor.
Serve Zhen, ba.
She didn’t expect that a servant would tie him to the bed.
Seeming to sense that someone had come, Feng Yunian’s entire body was stiff. His fingers clenched into a fist, and his eyes were full of an irrepressible fury.
Bai Weiwei.
He hated these three characters.
He wished he could cut her into a thousand pieces.
Bai Weiwei felt that being stared at by him was almost the same as being watched by a viper.
She felt a chill down her back, and she wanted to turn tail and flee.
She was silent for a moment, her brain turning several times. For a while, she couldn’t think of any right capture strategies.
After all, this hatred was so deep.
Probably no method would work.
Feng Yunian’s cold eyes suddenly narrowed, and the chilly, murderous look on his twisted face was undeniable.
“Bai Weiwei, you’d better kill me now. If I live, I’ll make sure your intestines spill and your stomach rots, and you’re unable to die a good death.”
Bai Weiwei: I’m so scared, ah, hehe.
Sinking into her thoughts, she pondered for a moment, then suddenly climbed onto the bed.
Feng Yunian’s eyes flashed with a bit of alarm. He silently pursed his lips.
Bai Weiwei, learning from television how those local tyrants flirted with the female lead, gazed at him with wanton eyes.
She reached out and firmly gripped his jaw.
Suddenly becoming an overbearing president, she teased, “Truly a prince raised on golden branches and jade leaves3. Clean as ice and pure as jade, an absolute beauty. How long can you remain stubborn on Zhen’s bed?”
Feng Yunian’s face of cold fury became somewhat slack.
Then he suddenly reacted. His white face was dyed with a red flush, and his eyes held the cold light of hatred.
“Shameless.”
Bai Weiwei’s fingers that were gripping his chin suddenly slid slowly downward.
“I am shameless. Unfortunately for you, you can only be under such a shameless person in the future, unable to struggle.”
She bowed her head and kissed him fiercely.
Feng Yunian shuddered, and he bit down hard.
He heard her hiss, and the corner of her lips was stained with blood.
Feng Yunian thought that she would be furious.
But then he saw her smile softly. Under the lamplight, her elegant eyes and brows were like the coming of spring4.
A beauty that could capture the soul.
She asked affectionately, “Are you some sort of fox?”
Feng Yunian looked at her blankly. The Bai Weiwei in his heart was cruel and ruthless, a complete tyrant.
Such behavior, was it some sort of scheme?
But she didn’t seem to spot the gloom in his eyes. She reached out and pulled up the quilt to tuck him in.
“Sleep, ba. Zhen is tired, so you’re excused today.”
Feng Yunian almost couldn’t believe that she would just let him go like this.
The action that followed shocked him even more.
As though it had just occurred to her, she smoothly untied the silk and satin that bound him.
“This way, you’ll sleep more comfortably.”
With this, Bai Weiwei yawned lazily and lay down right beside him.
Feng Yunian’s naked body stiffened, and he watched her with wide eyes.
What kind of plot was this, for her to let him go?
After waiting a little while, he suddenly heard the sound of her shallow, steady breathing.
Did she, indeed, fall asleep next to him?
Feng Yunian’s eyes narrowed slightly, and a thick, murky killing intent poured out.
He reached over and slowly wrapped a hand around her throat.
1: The emperor (or in this case, empress) is often referred to as a dragon, and things like the throne will also be called the “dragon ___,” e.g., dragon throne, dragon bed, dragon root ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )↩
2: 白斩鸡: a type of chicken dish poached in soup stock, served cold? I don’t know what it has to do with looking weak, though.↩
3: 金枝玉叶: a person of noble birth, a member of the royal family.↩
4: 雪化春来: snow melts, spring arrives.↩
