After the ceremony, Evelyn was accompanied by her bridesmaids back to the lounge. After getting some rest, she changed into another gown. She joined her parents, Sheffield and Peterson to offer toasts to the guests.

After a while, Evelyn found a chance to ask Sheffield in a low voice, "Why didn't your stepmother join us to toast the guests?"

"You want her to be here with us?"

"No, not really. I was just curious." Lea acted like she was invisible throughout their wedding day.

"She doesn't deserve to be here," Sheffield scoffed.

"I know Lea is not a pleasant woman, but you don't have to hate her so much," Evelyn tried to soothe him.

"She's just a mistress, honey. You don't have to be nice to her. And don't judge a book by its cover. Lea might seem obedient on the surface, but she is cunning and selfish."

Evelyn sighed, "Okay, if you say so."

Sheffield held her waist and kissed her lips gently. "Let's go, Mrs. Tang. We have to toast our guests together." He had waited for this day for the past three years.

"All right," she said with a shy smile.

If one day, someone asked what Sheffield had done on his wedding night, Joshua would surely answer like this—

"He knelt on a keyboard, begging for forgiveness, the whole night!"

Why, you ask? Because something interesting happened during the toast.

Two tables were reserved for Sheffield's friends among the guests. He and Evelyn walked to the table to toast them.

One of his friends pulled Sheffield aside for a talk. Grabbing the opportunity, Joshua chimed, "Evelyn, I have to tell you something. You should not let Sheffield sleep in the bed tonight."

"Why not?" Evelyn looked at him in confusion.

Joshua clinked his champagne glass with Evelyn's and gulped the liquid down. He put the glass on the table and continued, "This is something that Sheffield told me once, and I'm quoting this word-for-word—'I'll pursue Carlos' daughter and marry her. I will make her serve me, dress me up and cook for me. I will reward her with sweet words if she makes me happy, and I will punish her if she upsets me. That feels so right!' I swear those were his exact words!"

"Hahaha." The men at the table burst into laughter.

Gifford wasted no time. He joined Joshua. "There's one more thing you need to know, Evelyn. We made a pact several years ago. If any of us got married before thirty, we should spend the night with another woman the day before our wedding. Sheffield is only twenty-eight now, so he had to adhere to the pact. You were not with him last night. Ask him what he did last night!"

As was custom, a couple to be married, wasn't allowed to meet on the night before their wedding. So, Sheffield and Evelyn weren't together the previous night.

Evelyn thought about it. Last night, he had sent her a message saying that he was at a party with some friends.

'Were there women in the party too? Did he spend the night with one of them?'

Evelyn chuckled and raised her glass. "Thank you for the information. I'll ask him tonight."

Gifford put his arm on Joshua's shoulder and assured her, "You are welcome, Evelyn. We're always on your side. To hell with Sheffield and his friendship. We will supervise him for you!"

The table burst into laughter again.

Sheffield walked towards them with a wine bottle. When he approached the table, he heard what Gifford just said. "Hey, hey! I've only been away for a minute, and you are already snitching on me! You two don't waste any time, do you?"

Evelyn looked at him tenderly and answered for them, "They were just saying what a great guy you are."

"That doesn't sound like them at all!" he said. 'I smell a trick in the air, ' Sheffield thought to himself.

Besides, he could sense a trace of annoyance on Evelyn's face.

He squinted at his buddies, who were trying hard to stifle their laughter. "Guys! Whoever tells me the truth will get a reward from me." He showed them the bottle and continued, "This is a limited edition wine. The market price is more than a hundred thousand dollars. Whoever tells me what these two assholes said to my wife will get this bottle."

Gifford and Joshua exchanged secret glances with Evelyn. The bride instantly understood. She interrupted Sheffield, "Honey, I would like to have that bottle."

He kissed her earlobe and whispered, "Honey, I'll buy you a better one later. This is to bribe my buddies here."

"But I like the patterns on this bottle," she said with a pout.

Sheffield couldn't refuse after seeing that look on her face. He had to hand the bottle to her, and then glared at Gifford and Joshua.

Before moving on to the next table, Evelyn quietly let go of Sheffield's hand and put the bottle back on the table. "Actually, I just remembered that I can't drink. You guys enjoy it," she said with a wink.

"Thank you, Mrs. Tang!"

"Thank you so much, Evelyn! You are an angel!" Joshua praised.

Evelyn had no time to drink expensive wine. She had scores to settle with Sheffield.

In the Tang family house that night

There was a black keyboard on the floor in front of the bedroom window. Evelyn leaned against the headboard of the bed and said to her husband, "Kneel down on the keyboard and repeat 'No woman is more fun than a sister-in-law' a thousand times!"

"Honey..." Sheffield begged with a helpless smile on his face.

"If you have a problem with that, you can sleep in the balcony." Sheffield looked towards the open balcony. It was filled with mosquitoes. There was no way he could spend the night there!

"Okay...I'll do it." Sheffield silently cursed Gifford and Joshua. He swore to make those two pay. Instead of what Evelyn had asked him to say, he repeated, "I love Evelyn. I love Evelyn..."

He wondered if there was ever a pathetic groom who had to go through this on his wedding night. His beautiful, sexy wife was on the bed in front of him, but he had to go through this hell, unable to even hug her.

Evelyn didn't care what he was saying, as long as he was kneeling on the keyboard obediently.

After repeating the words a hundred times, Sheffield felt his tongue go numb. He asked his wife, "Honey, we are going to go on our honeymoon soon. If I hurt my knees here, how can I go shopping with you? Evelyn, I love you, I love you..."

While playing on her phone, she asked casually, "Who was the woman with you last night?"

"What? What woman? I came back here alone after the party last night!" It was already past two in the morning when he came home. He slept for two hours before waking up to get ready for the wedding.

"What about the party? How many women were at the party last night?"

"Seven or eight women, but I didn't go anywhere near them! I swear! Lately, the Tang family has been keeping a close eye on me. They are waiting for me to make a mistake, so that they can come to you with the evidence." Ever since Sheffield had turned against the Tang family the other day, almost everyone in the family hated him more than ever and had sent people to stalk him.

Evelyn squinted at him and asked flatly, "Are you saying that you would have gone with another woman if the Tangs weren't keeping an eye on you?"

"No, no, no! Honey, we're married. I'm a married man. I would never fool around with other women!" His attitude was so sincere.

The corners of Evelyn's mouth raised slowly. She didn't have the heart to be harsh on him anymore. "What if you make some mistake again in the future?" she asked.

"Punish me! Make me serve you well in bed. Don't let me go until I make you moan to your heart's content. What do you think?"

"Get out of here!" She scowled at him.
