Chapter 1095: Red Dates and Bird’s Nest
Her mind was a blur as she grabbed onto his pajamas as if it was the only floating plank for survival as she drowned. She grabbed it so hard that he could feel her tense fingers and pointed nails through the fabric.
He kissed her again and pressed on with the question, “Do you like me, hmm?”
His low nasal voice was so suggestive in that quiet darkness, and she couldn’t help but shiver.
His fingers wandered about her body, igniting her at each spot. She felt like crying again, her body felt so strange, a pulsing numbness she could not adapt to. She subconsciously grabbed him even tighter and said in a trembling voice, “I-I hate you.”
He chuckled and nibbled her ear. “Do you love me?”
“N-no way…” She was heaving.
“Little liar.” He reached into her private zone and quietly ordered. “Relax.”
She shuddered as memories of the agony she was put through at the back of the car the other day flooded her mind. She did not want to go through that pain all over again. In the face of potential danger, she instinctively curled up. “Don’t…”
He coaxed her. “It won’t hurt this time, trust me.”
She cried. “Liar, I don’t want to.”
He kissed her affectionately, not wanting to leave a scar etched in her mind. With her body pinned into position under him, he reached for the drawer by the bedside and got a bottle of lubricant. After applying some onto his hand, he went for her private zone again. As the cooling lubricant touched her warm skin, her eyes widened in confusion and she trembled. “W-What’s that?”
“With this, it won’t hurt anymore.” He nibbled at her ear lobe again. “Open your legs a little wider.”
She was blushing now and her body went soft, there was no way she could move her legs. Pei Ziheng effortlessly parted her legs and reached into her, applying the lubricant where it should be. She dared not move an inch the whole time. When he first put his finger into her, it had hurt a little, but it soon became a pulsing numbness before she felt herself go warm again.
She couldn’t help but let out a soft moan. The moment she caught herself doing it, she shut herself up in embarrassment.
He said gently by her ear, “Like I said, it’ll feel good.” He had gotten the butler to prepare this bottle of lubricant, knowing that she might be in pain in the process. What he really wanted was for her to savor the moment as much as he did, with him. The last time was an accident, and he did not wish for her to live with such a scarring memory for the rest of her life. He truly wanted her to love him and depend on him forever.
Xia Ling was so embarrassed she went quiet. She was all curled up in his embrace, wishing she could curl up into a ball.
She groaned softly. It was still immensely uncomfortable and soon, tears were streaming down her face. “B-Big liar, you said it wouldn’t hurt… Ah!” Before she finished her sentence, he started at it. His intense rocking and rhythm left her with no time or way to react to it. She instinctively held onto him tightly like he was a little boat in the storm.
Gradually, it really stopped hurting.
A strange magical feeling surged inside her, making her yearn for more.
Her mind was a blur, it was as if she thought about too much, and yet nothing, all at once. She didn’t know how long it was that he went at it, but eventually, both of them fell asleep, completely drained.
When she woke up the following day, he was no longer by her side.
The bedroom was empty, making her heart feel equally empty. Some residual joy from their love-making was still suspended in the air, and the messy sheets were proof and reminder of their doings last night. Xia Ling blushed again as the scenes flashed before her eyes.
Gosh… how could she get together with Brother Pei just like that?
S-she even… made those shameless noises? A-and did not let him leave?
She curled up in bed, not wanting to see anyone.
Out of the blue, someone knocked at the door.
She was startled like a little prey, and her heart beat wildly as she kept quiet in fear.
The knocking went on for a while and then stopped. Then, Nanny Zhou’s voice was heard through the door. “Miss, are you up yet? Mister told me to brew some red dates with bird’s nest for you. It helps with strengthening your body, you should have it warm.”
“I-I’m coming,” Xia Ling frantically responded.
“Alright, I’ll place it on the dining table for you. You can come down once you’re done washing up.” Nanny Zhou’s voice faded into the distance.
Xia Ling rubbed her face as if there was a redness that she could wipe away. She hopped off the bed as she usually would, but today, she landed on the floor with an “ouch”. Her legs were numb, and her back was aching; she could barely garner any strength. As she recalled the previous night again, the redness in her cheeks came surging back.
She took a quick shower and changed into clean clothing before making her way down groggily.
Nanny Zhou was waiting at the dining table as she expected. The dining room was quiet and the sunlight that spilled all over the sturdy wooden table highlighted its intricate details. On the table was a hand-crafted porcelain bowl filled with red dates and bird’s nest, and a few small dishes. The presentation was lovely and made everything look appetizing.
Xia Ling tried to suppress her shame and guilt as she took a seat at her usual place as calmly as possible. She asked Nanny Zhou, “Where’s… Brother Pei?”
“Mister went to the office early this morning,” Nanny Zhou said. “He wanted me to let you know that he’ll be back to accompany you at night.”
Xia Ling blushed again. She carefully eyed Nanny Zhou, and only felt a little more relieved when she saw that Nanny Zhou was smiling and acting as per normal. “Who needs his company,” she muttered softly as she scooped some bird’s nest.
Nanny Zhou was used to her occasional wilfulness and did not mind her. She simply smiled and said, “Did you and Mister bicker again? He’s a big man with lots of matters to handle. Even if he did do something wrong, Miss, be more accepting of him. Mister loves you more than anyone else.”
Xia Ling felt even more conscious now and kept quiet, for fear that Nanny Zhou would see through her.
Only then did Nanny Zhou find her behavior a little unusual. She asked concernedly, “Are you unwell?”
“No!” Xia Ling was so startled she almost knocked the bowl over. “I-I’m fine,” she said to Nanny Zhou in a fumble. “Nanny Zhou, I can just eat here on my own. You can just do your stuff, I’ll be fine.”
Nanny Zhou eyed her skeptically. “You’re really fine?”
“Yup.” Xia Ling forced a smile. “Go on.”
With that, Nanny Zhou took her leave.
Xia Ling heaved a sigh of relief and felt as if she was going mad. She ate her breakfast distractedly, and suddenly, at the corner of her eye, she saw Nanny Zhou carrying a pile of sheets and duvet down the stairs.
