Chapter 756Armand tensed up for a split second but quickly regained his demeanor. “Some drunk chick threw

herself at me when I came over. I'm guessing that's when she got her perfume on me,” he elaborated,

sounding defeated. “There are cameras around. You can check them out.”

As a woman herself, Charlotte knew how quickly the smell of perfume could transfer over and linger on

one's clothing.

Seemingly believing his words, she calmed down slightly—only to then notice the man's lip.

It looks like someone just bit it!

“So, are you going to tell me that it's the same woman who bit your lip?” she demanded while

scrutinizing the injury, looking as though she could explode at any moment.

Armand was stumped.

The entire room fell silent as everyone was petrified by Charlotte's interrogation.

Being the first to compose himself, Evan hurriedly walked over and facepalmed upon noticing the

man's injured lip. He could obviously guess what his friend had just been up to.

I shouldn't have called Charlotte over.

“You see, we were just playing a round of Pass the Paper, but Jerry accidentally bit his own lip!” he

exclaimed, trying to spin the perfect lie. He then turned to everyone else there. “You all saw that happen too, right, guys?”

“Yeah! That's right!” Some of them quickly nodded in agreement while waving some playing cards at

Charlotte. “See? The cards are still here!”

Yet, Charlotte sneered. “Do you guys take me for an idiot?”

“No,” Evan replied sheepishly.

The woman then turned to Armand and was about to say something when she looked down and

noticed his bare finger.

Then, she lost it. “You're not wearing the ring?”

Armand stilled momentarily. I'm not even Jerry. Why the hell should I wear it? ”The ring you gave is just

too precious, so I left it at my condo. I didn't want to accidentally lose it,” he explained calmly.

“You think I'd believe that? You scumbag!” Fuming, the woman began to hit him with her purse.

“You're dead! Dead, I tell you!” she enunciated before shoving Evan aside and leaving the room.

The tall man nearly lost his balance from that shove.

Holding onto the door to avoid falling over, Evan then turned to Armand meekly. “Don't blame me for

this, Jerry. I have nothing to say about you hitting on other women, but if you were gonna let someone

bite your lip like that, you should've told me so I wouldn't have had your sugar mommy drop by.” Amelia rubbed his temples before glancing at the woman who had bitten his lip.

Upon meeting his gaze, Genevieve merely sipped on her champagne and feigned innocence, as

though telling him: Well, what about it? It's not like I called Charlotte over.

Armand left after a few exchanges with the group. Then, he called Jerry, hoping the latter could

appease Charlotte.

Alas, neither Genevieve nor Armand had expected tonight's ordeal to result in a chain reaction.

After returning to Jadeborough, Charlotte invited her friends for a drink and got wasted for the first time,

spending the rest of the night cursing Jerry while in tears. Then, Timothy came to pick her up, although

it was unknown who had called him over.

The woman cried even harder as she clung to him while staggering.

“I'm going to marry you, Timothy! Let's get married tomorrow!” she screamed.

There so happened to be paparazzi trailing her at that very moment, and after they uploaded the

footage of her with Timothy to the internet, the netizens were in an uproar.

Just last week, Jeremiah and Timothy had gone to Forlisle Group together.

Jeremiah had summoned a directors' meeting to announce his deteriorating health and Timothy's role

in the group's future. In other words, Timothy had been officially named the next leader of Forlisle

Group.
