Chapter 1237 When she could finally feel the night breeze blowing on her face freely, she exhaled dee
ply and headed to the tree where Celine had been hiding earlier.
She saw Celine waiting for her there.
Celine was surprised to see her in the maid‘s uniform. She whispered, “Come with me.”
Sherry followed her to the dark and whispered back,“ How is Shannon going to help me get
out of this place?”
Celine snorted. “Just follow me and you‘ll know.”
Everyone in the Stocktons‘ residence must be at the event hall because they did not bump into anyone
along the way.
After sneaking along the shortcut for ten minutes, Sherry followed Celine to a lively front yard. Music an
d chatter permeated the air. This must be where the event was held.
Baffled, Sherry asked, “Why did you bring me here?”
Celine looked around cautiously and made sure there was no one around before she tiptoed towards th
e garden beside the front yard. She pointed to a bunch of gardenia trees. “Hide there. I‘ll come for
you later.”
Sherry frowned . “Tell me what Shannon is going to do
first, or I‘m not going ahead with this!”
Celine glared at her. With a hurried tone and a small voice, she said, “Madam plans to wait
until the event is over, and when
the guests leave , you can use them as a cover to walk out. There‘s no one at the main gate except for
the bodyguards. If you leave now, you‘ll definitely get caught.”
Sherry finally understood
the plan. She quickly went behind the gardenia trees and hid quietly. Celine even grabbed some leaves
and branches to cover Sherry‘s head to avoid her being discovered.
After Celine left, things got quiet. It soon got uncomfortable for Sherry to keep squatting, so she change
d her posture and accidentally found out that the wall beside the trees had a seam as wide as a thumb.
It must be part of the architectural design for ventilation, but it also allowed someone from the outside t
o peek inside.
Sherry went closer and peeked through the seam. Behind the seam was the event hall which was flood
ed with people. The lights were dazzling while the food
looked delicious, and everything was nothing short of glamor. Sherry peeked for a while until she spotte

familiar figures: Madam Stockton, Queenie, Julie, Shannon, and even John. The man had a black tuxe

physique. A kind smile hung over his face as he was surrounded by people trying to flatter him.
Madam Stockton, Julie, and Queenie were mingling with some other wealthy ladies. They seemed to b

Shannon stood alone by the side, greeting the few who accidentally exchanged glances with her.
Soon, Celine came into the hall and walked to Shannon‘s side
to whisper something in her ears. She must be updating Shanon about the progress of the plan.

Shannon grinned. She whispered back to Celine who then went out. Shannon walked over to Madam St

Sherry retracted her gaze. She had no interest in the little conflict between the women and only
wanted to leave the place. Bored, she sat against the wall.
After a while, the noise of glass breaking came from inside.
Sherry curiously peeked again and saw a boy standing in front of John, looking helpless.
There was broken glass next to John‘s feet, and his tuxedo seemed to be stained with juice.
The boy‘s father immediately ran over and pulled the boy behind him. He then nervously said to John, “I
