Chapter 1355
The three of them left the study room and headed back to their game room.
Flint sat down in front of Liam and grabbed his
brother’s phone to send a voice message to the chat group with their mother. “Mommy, what are you d
oing?”
Isabel sat down beside them and went on the chat group using her phone.
In less than a minute, Sylvia’s reply came in. “Mommy is still outside with two other teachers.”
Maybe because Flint’s sulky tone caught her attention, she asked, “What happened? Did Daddy scold
you guys again?”
Flint pouted. “Daddy didn’t scold us. He’s sick.”
Both Liam and Isabel stared at the screen silently.
Sylvia replied, “Is he sick?”
Flint piped up, “Daddy caught a cold. It has been a whole day.”
“Oh, haha, a cold is nothing serious, but it might take a while to go away. Usually, it takes a week to full
y recover. You guys don’t have to worry about him,” Sylvia replied.
Flint answered, “Okay. He actually wants you to come
back, but you sound like you don’t want to forgive him yet and don’t want to come back.”
Sylvia assured them, “You guys don’t have to worry. I have to go now. I’ll send you guys a video in a da
y or two.”
“Okay.” Flint then crawled into his brother’s arms and grumbled, “Brother, I miss Mommy. When is she
coming back?”
Both Isabel and Liam furrowed their brows, seeming to be in a sulky mood. However, they were older t
han their little brother and refused to be childish.
“Mommy will come back when she forgives Daddy,‘
Liam said.
Isabel sighed. “Stupid Daddy, always making Mommy mad!”
Still, he looked miserable with the ongoing cold, and it broke their hearts.
A few rooms away, Odell was staring at the screen with a grim expression. He was looking at the texts t
hat Sylvia sent to the chat group with the kids. She found out that he had a cold, but judging
from the tone, she sounded
happy.
Haḥa?
It was fine if she did not want to care about him, but ‘haha
“?
Odell’s expression turned even surlier. He picked up his phone and called her, but
the call was declined. He was still on her blacklist.
Disheartened, he got up and headed out. He strode to the living room in the blink of an eye.
Aunt Tonya was chatting with Madam Carter in the living room. When they saw Odell come down with a
grumpy look, they were both scared.
Odell looked at Aunt Tonya. “Aunt Tonya, lend me your phone.”
Aunt Tonya hesitated for a moment before she reluctantly gave up her phone. She
could not help but said, “Odell, try to speak nicely to Syl. Don’t always be like an angry bull.”
Odell grabbed the phone and headed outside the living
room.
Both Aunt Tonya and Madam Carter sighed.
…
Outside the door, Odell called Sylvia using Aunt Tonya’s phone.
The dial tone rang.
Odell was trying his best to suppress his rising anger,
but the call did not get through in the end. Instead, it was
declined.
His expression turned frosty. He called again but was declined once more.
Had she figured out that it was him and not Aunt Tonya?
Ding!
A text came from Aunt Tonya’s social media account.
Odell tapped on it and saw the text.
“Aunt Tonya, I can’t talk right now. What’s the matter?”
Odell replied, “Your man is dying from a cold. When are you coming back?”
Half a minute later, the reply came in. “Tell me when he’s really dead.”
Odell was silenced. He choked on his anger and wanted to smash the phone into pieces. He replied, “S
