Chapter 1551: Three, cute children gather.

“Your mommy is fine, but she misses you guys terribly, so do you wanna visit her with me?”

Ji Ziming’s eyes were brimming with warmth. While gazing at his sons, his voice became even gentler. “Your mommy misses you a lot.”

“Why doesn’t she wanna come home?” His daughter circled her arms around his neck as she posed this question. “Is mommy sick?”

“She isn’t sick but is just at the hospital waiting for you guys.”

“Let’s head over quickly, then. I truly miss her a lot.” The girl hugged his neck tighter. Her huge eyes revealed how much she was looking forward to seeing her mother.

“Sure. Let’s head over now.”

He carried his daughter out with him, and the two boys trailed after them. Standing at the entrance to the greenhouse, Qu Jingwan hurriedly called after Ji Chi. “Baby, do you wanna go visit your mommy with Auntie Jingwan later?”

The boy turned around; there was a look of hesitation in his eyes.

“Why should he go with you?”

His father’s cold voice ran. The aloofness in the man’s eyes shot right through the lady’s heart like an arrow. Her voice became weaker. “I’ll head there, too.”

“I’m warning you: You’d better—”

“Aiya! What’s wrong again?”

Madam Ji took a shawl from the room upstairs and walked up to her son. Noticing that something was wrong between them, she knew at once that they had quarreled again.

“Auntie, I only want Baby to follow me to the hospital later. That way, I can help your son take care of him.”

The lady looked aggrieved, and seeing the hesitation in the boy’s eyes, became more flustered. “I’m merely looking out for them; I don’t know why your son minds it so much.”

“I know; I know. You are easily misunderstood despite your kindness.”

The older woman signaled her not to say further. Looking at her son’s cold eyes, she said, “Son, why don’t you let the boy follow us there? When Zhang finishes boiling the soup, we can head out.”

“No need; he’ll follow me.” The man rejected them resolutely, knowing what the lady wanted deep down. If not for Pei Ge’s refusal to drive this missy out of the house, he would have long made her leave.

“Ji Chi, come with daddy.”

The moment he said this, the boy beside him turned and headed out.

The kid honestly preferred going to the hospital with Qu Jingwan, but because he wanted to see his mother as soon as possible, he followed his father there. A voice in his heart kept telling him that, if he followed his daddy, he would be able to find his mommy.

Upon seeing the three children leaving with the man, alarm bells rang in the lady’s heart. She was especially familiar with that look in the boy’s eyes just as he was leaving. Even with such a tone, the boy still ignored her.

The relationship that she had painstakingly built with the three children these past few days crumbled on the spot. She felt indignant, not getting why she had lost. What else placed her on the losing end other than being less close to the three children?

“Hey, don’t worry. My son is with the kids. Just wait for me, and we’ll visit Pei Ge at the hospital together.

She listened to the older woman’s comforting; all of a sudden, she could not listen to her further. Pei Ge’s name kept ringing, while hers seemed to have been forgotten or have not been remembered at all.

“I’m not worried. In fact, I’m relieved that he’s with his father. I’m only afraid that your son will be too busy taking care of Pei Ge and Baby. Since we’ll be going over later, why don’t you let me take care of her tonight?”

“You’re willing to take care of her?”

Madam Ji probed. Even though the person right before her eyes was very kind-hearted, she always felt a bit uneasy, yet she could not explain the reason for it. This feeling became stronger each time she saw this lady and her son together.

“Of course, I am. Honestly, I’m very envious of her for having three cute children.”

Envy filled the lady’s eyes. The older woman smiled and explained, “Wait until you and my son get married, and you’ll have your kids, too. By then, our family will be filled with grandchildren.”

“But now he’s…”

Qu Jingwan appeared to be referring to something.

“Don’t worry; you need to have some confidence. It’s only a temporary phase for my son. You’re too kind-hearted and nice. One day, he’ll see your existence and appreciate all the things you’ve been doing for him.”

“Thank you, auntie.”

There was a look of anticipation in the lady’s eyes, while the hands behind her back started to loosen. If the man changed his mind and married her, there could only be one possibility, and that was she had completely conquered him.

Ji Ziming arrived at the hospital not long after. Pei Ge was carefully watering the bracket plant on the window sill then. Since it was a VIP ward, all the furniture and interior décor of this room was made to fit its occupant’s preference. Nobody knew why there was a pot of bracket plant in this ward.

The woman in light pajamas and loose hair opened the cap of the watering can to water the roots of the plant while smiling at it.

The blooming flower was purple, signifying happiness and comfort.

“Mommy!”

The paper-thin silence in the ward was destroyed by the arrival of the woman’s daughter. Ran Ran dashed to her with eyes full of innocence.

“Come over quickly; let mommy hug you.”

Pei Ge kneeled down excitedly as she watched her daughter run toward her with An An and Ji Chi following.

“Mommy, I miss you so much.”

The girl was the first to land in Pei Ge’s embrace. When she smelled her floral fragrance, she pouted. “It’s all daddy’s fault for taking a long time to drive here.”

She smiled at her children, the sadness she had felt earlier quickly disappearing.

“Mommy, what’s wrong with your neck?”

Her eldest son was very observant. He saw a bandage wrapped around her neck the moment he entered the room. When he walked closer, he even noticed the blood on it.

“I’m fine.”
