Chapter 1707: She cannot help but feel touched.

The man looked at the woman in his arms with his deep-set eyes and asked gently, “Lazy pig, are you not getting up?”

“I’m getting up. I’ll get up right now, but can CEO Ji put down your pig trotter? Otherwise, how can I get up?”

She coldly snorted, raising her brow as she looked at his hand pressing down her chest. She then said in an enchanting voice, “If you aren’t going to move your pig trotter, I’m going to braise it in soy sauce tonight.”

“Woman, how ruthless you are! You actually said that my hand is a pig trotter and that you want to braise it in soy sauce.” He made himself seem pitiful as he slowly let go of her.

“You woman.”

He repeated his words, yet his eyes were full of love for her.

She sat up and moved to get clothes from the walk-in closet but was stopped by him before she could. She turned to ask him in confusion, “What’s wrong?”

“Let me apply medicine on your wound first.”

His gaze was icy. He had almost forgotten about applying medicine on Pei Ge and only remembered that the injuries on her back were getting better. Although the wound was mortifying, there was already pink flesh growing on it.

“Okay.”

Looking at the determination in his eyes, she did not reject his offer. She sat on the sofa with the clothes in her hand as she unbuttoned her pajamas and exposed her bare back.

Her skin was silky smooth except for that area covered by the scabbing wound. Ji Ziming’s eyes turned red with fury. Those who hurt his woman would end up badly no matter who they were and what background they had.

He had always been matchless in the capital by anybody or anyone.

Although the scab on the wound had started to fall off, he was not feeling good about it on the inside as his woman was severely hurt by others without reason. He had the strong urge to shred the culprit in pieces but regardless of how much hatred he harbored toward the perpetrator, he would not touch a dead one.

That person who was hiding in the dark was slowly appearing in his ruthless eyes.

“Let’s go to the office today. I’ve pretty much recovered today.”

Pei Ge pulled back on her lace pajamas and hid the wound on her back, missing the crimson blood that had flashed across Ji Ziming’s eyes.

“Okay, let’s go. I have a present for you.”

His lips curled into a dark smile and the depths of his eyes were also filled with a red glow.

Both of them changed and had breakfast in the hotel’s VIP room before he drove her to Ji Group in his black Rolls-Royce. However, instead of stopping at the entrance to the company, he parked his car in a neighboring shopping mall.

“Aren’t we going to the office today?”

Pei Ge watched Ji Ziming park the car and show no intentions of heading to the Ji Group. Instead, he gazed at the people in the shopping mall. Looking at the people coming and going, she could not fathom who the man had his eyes on.

“We’re going to the office, but before we do so, we need to go somewhere first.”

He grinned sardonically, and this sent shivers down her spine.

Even though she had been with him for a long time, she would still feel suffocated every time she saw this smile.

“Where are we going?”

Pei Ge was unsure that the other place he was talking about would be this shopping mall. What had the recent issue in her company got to do with this shopping mall, after all.

“It’s right here.”

Ji Ziming pointed at the shopping mall as he spoke louder. “That’s right; this is where I wanted to bring you. I want you to meet someone here, and when you see that person, you’ll know why I brought you here.”

He looked at her with his deep-set eyes until her figure got smaller and smaller, for they had gotten close to each other.

“Ge Ge, I’ll never forgive those who hurt you!”

She was deeply moved by his declaration; this man would keep out wind and rain for her and accompany the dark periods of her life.

“Actually…”

Pei Ge wanted to explain something but was swiftly hugged by him. The sudden, familiar scent enveloped her.

“Don’t worry; I’ll definitely catch the person behind everything. I won’t let anyone hurt you the slightest bit. If they cause you to bleed one drop, I’ll make them bleed ten drops, twenty drops, or even a hundred drops. I’ll let them know that they can’t touch my woman as and when they like.”

He embraced her tightly, and through the car’s rearview mirror, he could see the many people arriving for work.

They had come a little too early, but the person who should show up had not appeared yet.

Ji Ziming gently helped Pei Ge tidy her messy hair, his eyes full of endearment.

“Does your back still hurt?”

“It no longer hurts. It has actually stopped hurting long ago. The doctor’s prescription is really effective.”

She shook her head and looked dazedly at his beautiful features which could always pull her heartstrings so easily.

“That’s great. That medicine is hard to come by.”

He pursed his thin lips, and suddenly, his eyes turned cold. Sitting beside him. she could sense that there was a change in his expression. Following his gaze, she saw a man in a white suit.

His charisma was not as outstanding as Ji Ziming’s; he was not as good-looking as the latter and his family background was also probably not as prominent as Ji Ziming’s. Therefore, she had no idea why would her man regard this average person seriously.

“Let’s get out.”

The man did not notice that she had noticed the change in his expression. His lips curled slightly as he spoke to her and got out of the car on his own. The two remained close despite the morning crowd.

The smell of breakfast lingered in the air. There was the oily fragrance of pancakes, strong aroma of soy milk, and the appetizing scent of soup dumplings.
