Chapter 206: Let Her Reputation Be Ruined
Su Wan was really not very close to Tang Yifeng…
Su Wan was the type to warm up slowly. Between her and Tang Yifeng, Jiang Xuecheng was their only link. It was no surprise that Su Wan felt awkward.
When Jiang Xuecheng heard Su Wan’s probing question, he nodded on behalf of Tang Yifeng.
“You can call him Brother Tang. It matches his identity of showing off his seniority.”
Su Wan snickered and suddenly found that Jiang Xuecheng did not only have a sharp tongue towards her.
In fact, she couldn’t figure out how Jiang Xuecheng, being such a cold person, would have a friend like Tang Yifeng. Both of them had very different personalities.
Tang Yifeng’s eyes changed slightly. His eyes swept across Jiang Xuecheng’s face in disagreement.
“Junior, saying such thing about your senior will hurt me.”
Su Wan was stunned. “Mr…Brother Tang, you graduated from Zhao Hua University too?”
Zhao Hua University being Jiuzhou’s top university was a place many students dreamed of entering.
However, Su Wan had a deep impression of this university, mainly because of her grandfather, Xie Changfeng!
That year, Xie Changfeng couldn’t get into Zhao Hua University because of the little gap in his score. Since then, Zhao Hua University had become something Xie Changfeng could see but couldn’t get.
Whenever Xie Changfeng was free, he would talk to Su Wan and asked her to study hard and strive to become a student of Zhao Hua University.
Back then, Su Wan was one of the top students in her high school. However, her results did not meet the minimum requirements for admission.
It might be fate that Su Wan went to Dong Chen Country eventually but married Jiang Xuecheng, a Zhao Hua University graduate. It was indirect but she had fulfilled her grandfather’s dream.
Tang Yifeng raised her brows and pointed at his own face. “Su Wan, don’t you think I look like someone from Zhao Hua?”
Su Wan skimmed through Tang Yifeng from head to toe and then shook her head seriously.
“No.”
Tang Yifeng’s blood rushed to his face. Only then did he know that Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng had the biggest common ground—both of them had vicious tongues.
However, looking at the girl’s smiling face, he felt bad to fight back.
Su Wan waved towards the two of them. “Xuecheng, Brother Tang, I’ll go up first?”
Seeing Jiang Xuecheng nod, Su Wan’s eyes curved and she returned to the planning department.
Because of what happened today, Su Wan would not be in charge of the Jinjiang project. She had to tidy up the information to be handed over to the next person in charge.
After Su Wan went up, Jiang Xuecheng and Tang Yifeng gazed at one another. Then, both of them walked into the private elevator and went straight up to Jiang Xuecheng’s CEO office on the twenty-seventh floor.
Jiang Xuecheng poured himself and Tang Yifeng each a cup of coffee. Then, he sat on the sofa. He held his cup up and took a sip of coffee.
“How’s your investigation on Wan Wan’s parents’ case?”
“Not optimistic.”
Tang Yifeng quickly shook his head and there was a baffling heaviness between his brows.
Jiang Xuecheng shot him a faint glance and a sigh came out of his lips.
“Can’t you find the driver?”
The driver who hit Su Wan’s parents was the key to solving the mystery. As long as they could locate him and get him to testify against Su Jiankai’s family, all difficulties would be easily solved.
Tang Yifeng lowered his eyes. In a daze, he stared at the cup in his hands and his tone became hesitant.
“It seems like someone is helping him avoid our investigation or the driver wouldn’t have disappeared into thin air if he’s on this alone. Su Jiankai is probably aware of our actions, isn’t he?”
Hearing what Tang Yifeng said, Jiang Xuecheng quickly rejected his conjecture.
“It can’t be Su Jiankai. The family’s power has now weakened. They won’t have such great ability.”
Jiang Xuecheng’s decisive voice entered Tang Yifeng’s ears and his eyes deepened. He raised his head to look at Jiang Xuecheng in the eyes.
“Xuecheng, are you suspecting that there’s someone behind Su Jiankai?”
Jiang Xuecheng nodded heavily. “I’m not just suspecting, I’m actually certain. The person is in the dark, and he or she seems to be very good at observing us and is always able to dodge our sight.”
Tang Yifeng shivered and his shoulders trembled. “I’m timid, don’t scare me. It’s creepy to hear this.”
‘We are in the light while our enemy is in the dark and we have to resist each cold arrow shot by our enemy at any time. How to not be frightened?’ Tang Yifeng thought.
Jiang Xuecheng stood up. He placed the coffee in his hand down and gazed at the curtain not far away.
“Yifeng, I have a subtle feeling.”
When Tang Yifeng heard what he said, he stood up too. He followed Jiang Xuecheng’s gaze and saw the curtain flying with the wind.
“What feeling?”
Jiang Xuecheng pursed his lips slightly. He clenched his fists but relaxed again in less than three seconds.
“I keep having this feeling that the person behind Su Jiankai is similar to the person who ordered the men to kill us in March.”
They were equally mysterious and unfathomable and they understood them pretty well.
Tang Yifeng was silent for a moment and his look became more and more serious.
“When you mention it, they are indeed similar but Su Wan’s parents’ incident happened so many years ago, while you and Su Wan met by chance. Isn’t it a little far-fetched to put all this together?”
Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly and stared at Tang Yifeng. With a decisive and resolute voice, he said, “Don’t worry. The fox will show its tail one day. No matter who the person is, he will have to face us one day.”
Tang Yifeng tapped Jiang Xuecheng’s shoulders and smiled boldly. “Of course!”
As Tang Yifeng spoke, he changed the topic to this morning’s incident. “Xuecheng, who do you think ordered the person to hit Su Wan with a brick?”
“If I’m not mistaken, it should be Wan Wan’s cousin, Su Yurou.”
As Jiang Xuecheng spoke, there was an air of fierceness between his brows.
“That woman went to Kang Ping Hospital a few days ago and I guess she had figured out how the news of her fake pregnancy was spread.”
Besides Su Yurou, Jiang Xuecheng couldn’t think of anyone at the moment. Besides her, who would murder someone using such an unskilled approach?
They had not started the investigation and there were so many clues. Once they started their investigation, things would come to light faster.
Tang Yifeng widened his eyes. “It can’t be, can it? Isn’t this woman beyond comprehension? She wants to kill her own cousin just because of this? Isn’t that too cruel?”
“Don’t underestimate a woman’s jealousy.”
After Jiang Xuecheng spoke, he returned to the sofa.
Tang Yifeng shrugged. “Alright then, how do you want to fix Su Yurou?”
Jiang Xuecheng cared so much about Su Wan. Su Yurou’s action this time had naturally provoked Jiang Xuecheng.
“This woman has grown close to a male beautician recently. She still has some use. We’ll keep her but first, let her reputation be ruined.”
