Chapter 220: What’s Wrong?

Su Wan did not use perfume because she did not like the strong smell.

However, when Su Wan smelt the fragrance of the Secluded Orchid In A Deserted Valley perfume in her hand, she was shocked.

This perfume was indeed like what Sheng An’ning said it was—mild. It was as clear as spring water with a blend of fresh plants, unlike the ordinary perfume with the fragrance of flowers.

If someone were to smell it from a distance away, the fragrance would be faint, as if it was merely an imagination.

Su Wan shook the perfume and put on the lid carefully.

She smiled and thought she might put on a little of this perfume when she attended parties or dinners in the future.

She put the bluish-purple perfume bottle into her handbag and suddenly recalled Gu Zihang’s questions outside the washroom.

Su Wan shot a glance at Jiang Xuecheng and became more serious. She hesitated for a while and finally asked, “Xuecheng, are you the one who revealed the affair of Su Yurou and the male beautician? Did you order someone to send Gu Zihang an email?”

When Jiang Xuecheng heard this, his hands were still holding the steering wheel steadily. He looked at the cars in front and with a calm voice, asked, “Did Gu Zihang ask you?”

When Su Wan heard Jiang Xuecheng’s question, she knew he had indirectly admitted his doings.

Su Wan stared at Jiang Xuecheng steadily and started to explain.

“When I went to the washroom, I coincidentally bumped into Gu Zihang. He insisted that I had sent him the email and misunderstood that I still loved him…”

When you loved someone, you wouldn’t want the person to misunderstand. Hence, Su Wan told Jiang Xuecheng what had happened today directly.

When Jiang Xuecheng heard what Su Wan said, coldness appeared in his eyes. He turned his car to the left and merged smoothly into the traffic.

Jiang Xuecheng tilted his head slightly to take a glance at Su Wan. After a good while, he opened his mouth.

“Wan Wan, if I had known Gu Zihang would pester you after he and Su Yurou got divorced, I wouldn’t have done such thing.”

“Cough, so Xuecheng, you have your moments of regret too.”

Su Wan sneered and made a funny face at Jiang Xuecheng. “My resentment has reduced when looking at Gu Zihang and Su Yurou in such a state. Thank you, Xuecheng.”

Jiang Xuecheng did all these just because he cared for her and wanted her to vent her anger.

The thought of her marrying a good man who was devoted to her put Su Wan on cloud nine with unreal happiness.

After three more traffic lights, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng finally arrived at Zhao Hua Hospital.

Lin Fei’er would officially be discharged the next day. Unfortunately, Su Wan had just received a new planning project and would be busy every Monday. Hence, she told Lin Fei’er she would visit her today.

Jiang Xuecheng sat in his car and said softly, “I’ll wait for you here.”

Su Wan pursed her lips and smiled, “Xuecheng, Uncle and Aunty Lin are very grateful towards you and wish to thank you personally. Why don’t you go up with me?”

Su Wan knew Jiang Xuecheng did not like to be near strangers but Su Wan had no choice. Every time she went to see Lin Fei’er, Uncle and Aunty Lin would always ask about Jiang Xuecheng.

Uncle and Aunty Lin were simple and kind seniors. Because Jiang Xuecheng had used his ties to get Lin Fei’er into Zhao Hua Hospital, Uncle and Aunty Lin kept feeling they owed Jiang Xuecheng a favor.

They had even thought of giving him a treat. Every time Su Wan recalled Jiang Xuecheng’s cold look when they had family dinner, she declined Uncle and Aunty Lin’s good intentions immediately.

If Jiang Xuecheng were to have dinner with them, the scene would be so beautiful and everyone would feel awkward.

Since Su Wan had declined to their dinner treat, Uncle and Aunty Lin had to retreat and seek the next best option—that was, to thank him in person. Hence, Su Wan had no further reason to refuse.

Without waiting for Jiang Xuecheng to reply, Su Wan turned sideways and unbuckled his seat belt.

Jiang Xuecheng raised his brows helplessly when he saw Su Wan taking the initiative to unbuckle his seat belt. It was rare to see Su Wan taking initiative but unfortunately, it was for the sake of others.

Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and finally went up to the ward with her.

When they arrived at Lin Fei’er’s intensive care unit, both Mr. and Mrs. Lin were around. Lin Fei’er who was lying on the bed looked much better than the other day. She was in good spirits.

When Mr. Lin saw Jiang Xuecheng, his eyes lit up. He stood up and, with a surge of emotions, bowed at Jiang Xuecheng.

“Mr. Jiang, thank you so much for helping Fei’er this time.”

Su Wan went up to support Mr. Lin immediately. She was sad to see a senior bowing in front of her.

Seeing Jiang Xuecheng’s stoic look without any response, Su Wan winked at him.

Jiang Xuecheng then shook his head slowly and replied in a low voice, “You’re welcome. I did it because of Wan Wan.”

Upon hearing this, she felt strangely touched and there was unconcealed love on her look.

Just when Mr. Lin was about to say something, Jiang Xuecheng walked over to the window to look at the scenery outside.

From that cold look, he seemed to have formed a world of his own.

Mr. and Mrs. Lin knew from Su Wan that Jiang Xuecheng was an unsociable and eccentric man, so they dared not disturb him. They pulled a stool and put it beside Lin Fei’er, signaling to Su Wan to come over.

Su Wan immediately walked toward Lin Fei’er and sat on the stool.

Lin Fei’er saw Su Wan’s red face and smilingly whispered teasingly near her ears, “He has said you’re welcome, why are you still feeling shy?”

Su Wan darted a side glance at Lin Fei’er. Just when she was about to refute, Lin Fei’er widened her eyes. She pulled Su Wan’s sleeves and smelt it.

“Wan, have you put on perfume? I did not smell it from far just now. Now that you come near, I think the mild fragrance is nice.”

Su Wan widened her eyes, “Fei’er, you nose is very sensitive!”

The perfume named Secluded Orchid In A Deserted Valley had a mild fragrance. Su Wan couldn’t even smell it during her ten-minute drive over here but Fei’er could!

Lin Fei’er rolled her eyes. “Can’t I have a sensitive nose?”

Suddenly, she remembered something and blurted out, “Wan, I remember that you don’t use perfume. Why did you buy this all of a sudden?”

“I didn’t buy it, someone gave it to me.”

Su Wan shook her head smilingly and took out the bluish-purple bottle of perfume. She carefully opened the lid and the mild fragrance diffused in the air.

Lin Fei’er took the bottle and sniffed deeply. Suddenly, she turned pale and her body froze.

Su Wan was stunned. She pursed her lips and asked, “What’s wrong with this bottle of perfume?”
