Chapter 303: The Man’s Thoughtfulness

In Su Yurou’s diary, besides ‘Thank you, Mr. Chen’, there were much more astonishing contents.

However, these messages could be categorized into two types. The first was to scold Su Wan shameless and the second was her unforgettable love and hatred for Gu Zihang and her blame that he didn’t come looking for her.

There was no need to report these trivial messages full of resentment to Jiang Xuecheng.

Jiang Xuecheng took his mobile phone and kept thinking in his mind that there was no one in S City with the surname of Chen or any famous people whose nickname was related to Chen.

The surname ‘Chen’ was rare. If there were such a person in S City, Jiang Xuecheng was confident he would not forget.

“Mr. Jiang, do you still have other orders for me?”

Jiang Xuecheng returned from his reverie. His eyes narrowed and a sharp light flashed through his eyes.

“Thank you. Please pay more attention to this man called Mr. Chen. First, go and find out if there’s any person related to the surname Chen in S City.”

Jiang Xuecheng ended the call. He sat on the chair quietly and went into deep thoughts.

No matter what, Mr. Chen was no longer as mysterious as before. Since he knew his name now, this clue could definitely enable them to dig deeper.

Mr. Chen?

The person who tried to murder him and Tang Yifeng back in March should be Mr. Chen, shouldn’t it?

Jiang Xuecheng admitted that he was straightforward in his working style but it was not to the extent of offending anyone.

Moreover, with his background, who would want to confront him in Jiuzhou?

This mysterious man was really worth his effort in thoughts.

In the blink of an eye, it was Saturday.

Su Wan was sleeping soundly under her blanket. She slowly turned and suddenly felt emptiness beside her. She touched nothing.

Half-awake, Su Wan slowly opened her eyes. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and discovered it was empty beside her.

Su Wan yawned. Today was Saturday and Jiang Xuecheng wasn’t usually up so early.

Just when Su Wan wanted to continue her sleep, her body shook. A message flashed through her mind—Jiang Xuecheng had gone to B City and would not be around these two days.

The guqin teacher that Jiang Xuecheng got for her would be here at nine in the morning!

She had to tidy herself and the music room!

Su Wan jumped out from the blanket and cleaned herself as fast as she could. Then, when she went to the living hall and found a note left by Jiang Xuecheng for her.

“I’ve cooked scallop and gingko congee. It’s on the table. Remember to eat it earlier.”

This man was so thoughtful…

A faint smile appeared on Su Wan’s pretty and exquisite face. She took the note and started to admire Jiang Xuecheng’s handwriting.

To be honest, Jiang Xuecheng’s handwriting was beautiful. There was pride in its bizarreness. It made people wonder what the owner of this handwriting looked like.

Su Wan kept her smile and thought seriously that she should urge Jiang Xuecheng to write a couplet during Chinese New Year.

Putting his masterpiece in front of the door would not only bring a festive atmosphere but the warmth of home!

Su Wan walked toward the Ebony Gold Nan table and took and bowl of congee. She took a mouthful and tasted it.

The congee was warm and in the bowl, there was the man’s temperature besides the warmth of congee.

Sweetness flowed in Su Wan’s heart. She smiled and then finished the congee.

At nine sharp, Su Wan heard the sound of doorbell.

The teacher was punctual!

Su Wan stuck out her tongue and then ran toward the door. The minute she opened the door, she felt an air of seriousness all of a sudden.

Looking up slightly, the sight of a figure with gray hair welcomed her.

The woman was wearing a modified version of traditional Chinese clothing. She looked like she was in her sixties. Wrinkles had long crept onto her face.

Although Sun Yue looked like she had been through life, her eyes were extremely bright. She looked kind and she had a special temperament.

This granny was Sun Yue, the guqin teacher whom Jiang Xuecheng had gotten for her.

Su Wan had searched for Sun Yue’s resume before this and she was shocked to see a long list of awards.

No matter what, Su Wan respected an elderly who had enhanced classical music.

Su Wan lowered her head respectfully and greeted softly, “Hello, Teacher Sun. I’m Su Wan.”

From today onward, she would be Sun Yue’s student. So, addressing her as teacher was normal.

Sun Yue nodded silently in recognition of Su Wan’s new identity as her student.

Sun Yue then entered the house quickly just like going into her own house. If ordinary people were to come to Jiang Xuecheng’s house, they would look around to examine.

However, this granny was not moved. She didn’t even look at the decorations around her but went straight into today’s topic.

“I heard you bought the Fengqiwu?”

She was indeed a guqin lover. Although she sounded calm, Su Wan could see her fanaticism and fascination toward the famous guqin from her eyes.

Looking at Sun Yue now, she suddenly thought of her grandfather, Xie Changfeng. Speaking of it, wasn’t her grandfather obsessed with Chinese paintings?

All art lovers probably had something in common.

Su Wan smiled. It might be because of her grandfather that she felt there was an inexplicable closeness between her and this granny.

“Yes, it’s in the music room on the third floor. May I bring you up to have a look?”

Sun Yue immediately agreed to Su Wan’s suggestion. When they arrived at the music room, Sun Yue saw the Fengqiwu hanging on the wall.

She couldn’t suppress the excitement in her and couldn’t help walking forward. She stretched out her hands carefully and touched the strings of the guqin.

The low sound of the guqin reverberated in the music room.

Sun Yue stared at the guqin with obsession while she sighed, “It’s a good instrument!”

Besides these words, she didn’t know what else to say to praise the instrument.

As a royal property of the Northern Song Dynasty, the production of the Fengqiwu was extremely exquisite. The upper board was made of Chinese parasol tree and the lower board was of catalpa. Although it was made a long time ago, the tone was still warm and beautiful.

Sun Yue darted a faint glance at Su Wan as she asked, “Can I teach you with the Fengqiwu?”

Su Wan saw that this granny was clearly overjoyed but forced to suppressed her joy. She almost laughed out loud.

She pursed her lips and nodded, “Of course.”

The first lesson went by very quickly. Initially, Su Wan thought learning the guqin would be boring but it was actually much more interesting than she had imagined.

Su Wan was a beginner. Hence, Sun Yue taught her some basic fingering and how to read modern music score as well as some basic knowledge about guqin’s maintenance.

Before Sun Yue left, she told Su Wan to spare at least half an hour every day to practice.

Su Wan touched the string of guqin and dreamt about when she would be able to play the first piece.

Sun Yue had praised her talent for learning the guqin. She didn’t know if they were comforting words or a genuine praise.

Just when Su Wan was spacing out, she suddenly heard her mobile phone ring. She stood up slowly and took her mobile phone, which wasn’t far away.

It was a message from Lin Fei’er!
