Chapter 401: Remarrying The Next Day
Su Wan lay quietly beside Jiang Xuecheng’s body. Soon, a sensation appeared in her nose.
She had thought that the night she found out about Jiang Xuecheng’s accident was the most frightening time of her life.
Now she knew that as long as something happened to Jiang Xuecheng, she would not be able to keep calm.
Anxiety, heartache, uneasiness and all kinds of negative emotions attacked Su Wan, making her fingertips tremble uncontrollably.
‘Xuecheng, you must recover…’
Su Wan’s eyes were burning, and a drop of crystal clear tear fell from her eye onto the quilt.
Su Wan felt the heartbeat of Jiang Xuecheng. She took a deep breath, and her voice was like the quiet wind in an empty valley, echoing in the quiet room.
“Xuecheng, if you die, I’ll remarry the next day…”
Su Wan did not notice that when she spoke, the little finger on Jiang Xuecheng’s right hand moved slightly, and then it quickly returned to silence.
As Su Wan spoke, she could not help but cry more. She reached out to hold Jiang Xuecheng and subconsciously muttered.
“So, for me to be yours forever, you have to live. You have to live longer than me, do you understand?”
“You said that your life will always be one day longer than mine. Since you have promised me, you can’t go back on your words.”
“I didn’t even give birth to a child yet. Didn’t you say that you like girls? I like boys. We can have a cute pair of twins. The boy will be like you, and the girl will be like me. We will raise them together.”
“We still have many, many places to go. We will see different sceneries and eat many, many types of delicious food…”
The dream that she once felt was within reach had now become distant.
The more Su Wan spoke, the more uncomfortable she felt. Soon, she lay on Jiang Xuecheng’s body and cried silently.
She sniffed and slowly raised her head to look at the man in front of her.
Jiang Xuecheng lay under the quilt without moving. His long eyelashes covered his eyes, his nose was straight, and his thin lips were pursed quietly. He was like the moon in the lake, with a kind of almost illusory beauty.
The light shone on Jiang Xuecheng’s exquisite face, making him less cold than usual, and his outline gentler.
Su Wan used her hand to outline Jiang Xuecheng’s features and sighed sadly.
That night, Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng slept in the same room, but they did not sleep together.
The starlight outside shone into the room. Su Wan quietly looked at the crescent moon in the sky and spaced out for a long time.

The next morning, Ah Si came. Xu Ziyao and Luo Xiuxiu also came to visit Jiang Xuecheng at noon. To Su Wan’s surprise, Sheng An’ning did not show up.
Logically speaking, wasn’t Sheng An’ning deeply in love with Jiang Xuecheng?
It was strange that she did not show up when Jiang Xuecheng was in this state…
Luo Xiuxiu saw Jiang Xuecheng lying under the quilt in a vegetative state. She looked like she had aged ten years, unlike her usual self who liked to smile brightly. Her nose was red, and her eyes were full of tears.
“My good grandson, what will grandma do with you in this state?”
Su Wan could not bear to see Luo Xiuxiu like this. She went forward and placed her hand in Luo Xiuxiu’s palm. She was afraid that the old granny would suffer from too much pain and hurt her body, so she tried to persuade her nicely.
“Grandmother, Xuecheng can withstand this. Nothing will happen to him.”
However, she did not know whether she was comforting Luo Xiuxiu or herself.
Luo Xiuxiu took out a piece of tissue paper to wipe her tears. She squeezed Su Wan’s palm with her hand and sighed.
“Wan, you’re a good child. You can’t be blamed for what happened. Ziyao went a little overboard yesterday. I’ll apologize on her behalf.”
While they were talking, Xu Ziyao was standing by the side. Luo Xiuxiu actually said that Xu Ziyao did something wrong in front of her. It was obvious that she was protecting Su Wan.
Su Wan felt a little bitter when she saw this cute old grandmother protecting her. She quickly shook her head.
“Grandmother, this is my fault. I understand how mother feels.”
“Good child, it’s been hard on you…”
Luo Xiuxiu let out a sigh again. She swept her gaze across Su Wan’s somewhat haggard face and then looked at Jiang Xuecheng.
A long time ago, there was a doctor who said that Jiang Xuecheng would not survive.
However, Jiang Xuecheng had survived until now. Just when the Jiang family thought that his body had completely recovered, the same symptom appeared again!
Now it seemed that Jiang Xuecheng had never been well!
Although Luo Xiuxiu did not believe in ghosts and gods, there was no scientific explanation for Jiang Xuecheng’s conditions. When Jiang Xuecheng was young, Luo Xiuxiu secretly found a famous warlock to predict his fate.
He had said that Jiang Xuecheng would not live past thirty.
Luo Xiuxiu naturally could not accept this answer. At that time, she thought that the warlock was a liar. Now that she thought about it, she actually felt a chill running down her spine.
When Su Wan was married into the Jiang family back then, she did not know about this. In fact, Luo Xiuxiu felt that she had let Su Wan down by keeping it a secret.
If something really happened to Jiang Xuecheng…
Su Wan was still so young, and she did not have any children with Jiang Xuecheng…
It was not worth to sacrifice her life for someone. She might as well find a good family to remarry…
Luo Xiuxiu was shocked by her own thoughts. She woke up and felt that she was thinking too far ahead.
Jiang Xuecheng had experienced these symptoms before. Didn’t he survive?
This time, the situation would definitely be turned around.
Luo Xiuxiu lowered her head and looked at the quiet Jiang Xuecheng. She sighed softlyly and said to Xu Ziyao.
“Ziyao, let’s go.”
The beautiful woman in cheongsam nodded. She hesitantly touched Jiang Xuecheng’s cheek and trailed behind Luo Xiuxiu.
After a while, a doctor in a white coat walked in and took Jiang Xuecheng’s temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, and so on.
Su Wan nervously held her hand and looked at the doctor anxiously.
“Doctor, how is my husband?”
The doctor shook his head helplessly, but when he saw Su Wan’s anxious face, he comforted her slowly.
“Miss Su, although Mr. Jiang’s condition hasn’t improved much, it hasn’t worsened either. At least Mr. Jiang’s condition is very stable. It’s better to observe him for a few more days.”
As he spoke, the doctor glanced at Su Wan pitifully and finally left quietly.
***
For the past few days, the condition of Jiang Xuecheng had not changed. Su Wan’s initial anxiety had turned into a numbing pain.
What surprised Su Wan the most was that when Jiang Xuecheng was seriously ill, her father and grandfather had not come once!
After asking Luo Xiuxiu, she said that they were busy with work and could not come back because they were on a business trip.
What kind of work were they doing that made them so busy?
They couldn’t find time to visit their grandson and son.
Su Wan was puzzled.
