When she got closer, she realized that Flint looked different today.

His eyes were bloodshot, and it looked like he did not sleep last night. He was a playboy who cared

about his reputation the most. Yet, his suit was wrinkled, and his beard was sloppy. He was holding a

cigarette with his fingers. He looked through the corridor before he stared at Adina gloomily

“What‘s wrong with you?” Adina frowned. “What happened this time?”

Every time Flint came to her in Sea City, something would be wrong. She was used to it.

“I heard that you‘re getting engaged?”

When Flint spoke, his voice was incredibly hoarse as if his vocal cords were ruined.

Adina was surprised.

She finally understood why Flint looked like that.

Some things had been said many times before, but clearly, Flint had not been really listening. She

pursed her lips and said, “I‘m getting married to Duke. We‘ll be engaged on the sixth of next month,

and the wedding won‘t be too long after the engagement. If you have the time, you can stay in Sea City

and attend the engagement party before you leave.” Flint chuckled in resignation. He knew that it would

be impossible for him to be with Adina, and he had already accepted the fact.

However, when he saw Duke kiss her the day before yesterday, he felt like he had been stabbed in the

heart with a knife. He felt so hurt that he did not know what to do.

As a result, he went to the bar and got drunk. It was only after he woke up that he realized Adina had

sent him to the hotel.

Whenever he got drunk, she would take him home, throw him to the couch in the living room or throw

him in the guest room and let him survive on his own.

During those times, he actually thought that this woman did not respect him at all.

Now that she respected him, she would no longer bring him home anymore.

Since she was getting married, she had a partner whom she would spend the rest of her life with, and

she did not want another man to cause a misunderstanding.

Flint chuckled in resignation. “Over the past four years abroad, no matter which man pursued you, you

never batted an eyelid. I thought you were celibate. It turns out that you just hadn‘t met the one yet.”

Adina stared at him quietly. “You‘ll meet the woman you want to marry as well.” But she would not be

the one.

Flint felt more bitter.

He had constantly looked for girlfriends to enter her world with a proper reason. He had wanted to use

it to make her let her guard down and make them closer. Unfortunately, those women later became the

wall between him and her, and he was no longer worthy to stand by her. Flint swallowed the bitterness

in his heart before he chuckled.

“Duke Winters isn‘t as good looking as me, and he isn‘t as rich as the Morton family, but you still like

him. I‘ll naturally attend your engagement party. When the time comes, you have to treat me to some

good food and good wine!” he said casually.

The moment Adina saw how he acted, she knew that he was slowly trying to move on.

She smiled and said, “Sure, I‘ll definitely prepare your favorite food and wine.”

She raised her wrist and looked at the time. “I‘m going to buy breakfast in the cafeteria. Do you want

me to buy you a set?”

Flint shook his head. “I still have something to do, so I‘ll leave in a minute. You go ahead.”

Once Adina‘s figure disappeared out of his sight, his smile slowly faded.

As long as she was happy, nothing could be better.

When he turned around and wanted to leave, a figure suddenly walked out of the corner of the corridor.

“Flint Morton, weren‘t you being arrogant in front of me? Why can‘t you even protect your own

woman?” Jasmine sneered and walked over. “Didn‘t you say that she was your girlfriend? What‘s the

matter? Your girlfriend‘s marrying someone else, and you‘re just going to watch?”
