Jasmine smiled and said, “It‘s mainly because the divorce between Addy and her husband is too
confusing. Everyone is curious. Addy, why don‘t you take this opportunity today to solve the puzzle for
us?”
She called Adina “Addy,” but her voice was filled with a hidden coldness.
Adina curled her lips into a bright faint smile. “Jas, if you can tell everyone about your pursuit of men, I
don‘t mind sharing with everyone about what happened between my husband and me.”
Right after she said that, Jasmine‘s expression completely darkened.
She had always been the one courting Flint, but she never won him over at all. If that was exposed,
she would be totally embarrassed.
Jasmine was afraid that Adina would expose her private business, so she obediently stopped talking.
Dillon then led Adina to the spotlight.
He held a microphone and spoke in good spirits, “Hello. Thank you for attending the Jones family‘s
reunion banquet despite having a busy schedule. I‘ve invited you here today because I want you to
witness a very important thing for me.”
He took a deep breath before he held Adina‘s hand and said, “This is my long–lost daughter, and after
so many years, she has officially returned to me. From today onward, she will become a part of the
Jones family.” “Congratulations on having a daughter!”
“Congratulations on having found your long–lost daughter, Mr. Dillon Jones!” “Congratulations on
having one more granddaughter, Mr. Jones!”
Everyone rejoiced and congratulated them. Regardless of whether they were sincere or hypocritical, it
looked like a joyful occasion at least.
Since Mr. Jones attended the reunion banquet, it meant that he had already convinced himself to
accept his long lost granddaughter. He took out an antique sandalwood box from his pocket. “This is
something that all descendants of the Jones family have. You can keep it.”
Adina did not hold back either. She accepted it and spoke with a smile, “Thank you, Grandpa.”
When she called Mr. Jones “Grandpa,” his expression improved slightly.
The Jones family only had one descendant, Daniel. He did not have any siblings. Now that there was
one granddaughter, the Jones family had become more prosperous.
“Addy, this is my gift for you.” Zhenny flashed her a friendly smile. “We’ve known each other through
conflicts, but we‘re a family now. If you need any help, just let me know.”
The plagiarism incident had been a big fuss, and many people in Sea City knew about it. When Zhenny
said that, the incident was easily put behind.
Adina did not mind it too and accepted the gift. “Thank you, Aunt Zhenny,” she said with a smile.
She fiddled with the two gifts in her hands, and after she paused for a few seconds, she continued to
smile and say, “Am I considered a member of the Jones family now?”
“Of course,” Dillon quickly answered.
“If you like ‘Jones,‘ we‘ll change your family name tomorrow. If you don‘t like it, you can continue using
‘Daugherty‘ as your family name. Our family doesn‘t mind it.”
When Jasmine heard his words, she pursed her lips.
Since her family name was Yackley, her grandpa did not trust her. He even told her that she had to
change her family name to Jones after she officially became the heir of Jones Corporation.
Grandpa still treated her as an outsider and only allowed
her to be the heir because Daniel was a disappointment.
Adina stopped smiling and seriously asked, “May I ask, aside from being a member of the Jones family,
are there any other additional conditions to compete for the election of the Jones family heir?”
Despite her soft tone, her question struck Jasmine and Zhenny‘s heart like a heavy hammer.
Even Dillon was stunned. He stuttered when he asked,” Addy, what–what do you mean?”
Adina chuckled. “I‘m just wondering if I‘m qualified to run as one of the family‘s heirs.”
“You wish!” Jasmine instantly lost her cool.
“You‘re just an illegitimate daughter with low status, but you want to become the heir of the Jones
family. Who gave you the audacity?”
