Adeena slammed the car door shut before she speedily walked toward the girl.

When the girl heard the sound, she turned around. Her big, black eyes shone brightly, reflecting

Adeena’s figure.

“Miss, do you know how to get to Golden Sun Orphanage?”

The girl’s voice was soft. It was sweet yet not greasy, like the sweetest milk candy that was dipped in

chocolate sauce for a while.

Adeena’s heart instantly melted. She squatted down and tenderly said, “Of course, I know. Let me bring

you to Golden Sun Orphanage, okay?”

The little girl nodded decently. “Thank you, Miss!”

Adeena’s heart melted. She could not help but lift the girl and carefully put her into the passenger seat

at the back. It was only after she carefully buckled the seatbelt for the little girl that she softly asked,

“Girl, why did you leave the orphanage alone?”

“Cherry said she wants to eat marshmallows. She gave me $2 and asked me to buy some

marshmallows back.” The little girl blinked and said, “Miss, can we buy some marshmallows before we

go back to the orphanage?”

Adeena held the steering wheel with a faint smile and said, “Of course we can, but you’re too small.

You can’t come out and buy marshmallows alone again.”

“But Cherry wants to eat.” The little girl held her hands. ” Cherry said I could take a bite too.”

Adeena’s heart suddenly soured.

Why would such a cute girl be abandoned in the orphanage? She also needed to take a bite off

another child’s marshmallows.

When she looked at the girl, who sat obediently in the back, through the rear–view mirror, she felt pins

and needles in her heart.

The little girl did not behave pitifully at all. She blinked her big eyes as she said, “Miss, you’re so kind.

You’re even gentler than Mama Sherry. I like you a lot.”

Adeena gently smiled and said, “I like you a lot too. What’s your name?”

“My name is Grapie. Since my eyes look like grapes, Mama Sherry gave me the name, but…” The little

girl sniffed. “I’ve never eaten grapes before.”

Adeena’s fingers tensed up.

Ever since she could remember, she had never gotten involved with such a young child. She did not

know if all the children were this adorable, but she was captivated by the girl’s watery, grape–like eyes.

She suddenly had an urge to adopt this kid.

However, she knew that unmarried women could not adopt an orphan.

“Grapie, I’ll take you shopping. You can buy whatever you like.”

She stopped the car in front of the nearest supermarket.

Grapie’s eyes lit up. “Miss, I just want some marshmallows. Cherry’s still waiting for me.”

“It’s okay. I’ll drive you back later. It’ll be very quick.” Adeena held her soft hand and walked into the

supermarket. She basically bought everything that a kid needed. She ended up buying a trolley full of

stuff simply from walking around.

Grapie’s expression was full of resignation. “Miss, you really don’t need to buy all this. I don’t need so

many things. The orphanage has everything.

If there was everything, how could she never eat grapes when she was already three years old?
