After finishing their work in the morning, Adina, Serene, and a few colleagues went downstairs for

lunch.

Just as Adina walked through the restaurant‘s door, she saw Sean and a young woman sitting near the

restaurant‘s window. The woman was wearing a gorgeous and seductive outfit.

She leaned on Sean as she sat, and her chest was pressed against Sean‘s arm. Meanwhile, the man

was moving his hand over her waist and hips. If this had not been a public place, Adina would have

thought that the two of them would give a live performance.

“Let‘s go somewhere else,” she said indifferently.

Before she could turn around, Sean spotted her and immediately came forward. “Addy, please come

over and sit. I‘ve been waiting for you for a long time.”

When Adina saw his smiling face, she felt extremely uncomfortable. “I‘m not free,” she said coldly.

“Addy, aren‘t you having lunch anyway? Let‘s eat together then.” Sean chuckled to make Adina stay.

“I‘d like to talk to you about something serious.”

“Ms. Daugherty, Seany just wants to invite you for lunch to apologize to you.” The woman also walked

over and lowered her voice. “Sophia was being unreasonable. She criticized her late aunt in public, so

your slap was definitely well–deserved.”

Adina felt a little nauseous.

She really did not want to deal with these people, but they insisted on getting in her way, so they could

not blame her for speaking rudely.

“If Sophia is unreasonable, what about you?” Adina asked with disdain. “You‘re only in your early

twenties. Why would you want to be a mistress out of everything? Didn‘t your parents teach you to

behave yourself?”

“I… I…” The woman was stunned. When she felt strange gazes from all directions, she felt extremely

embarrassed, and she could not say a word.

Sean‘s expression did not seem pleased either. “Addy, what are you talking about?”

“Mr. Gardner, please don‘t use Sophia as a stepping stone to seek a connection with me. If I hate

Sophia , I‘ll deal with her myself. I don‘t need you. You‘re her husband. If you protect her and love her,

perhaps I‘ll still befriend you, but now…” Adina sneered. “I hate men who beat and cheat on their wives

the most!”

She uttered those words powerfully, and everyone in the restaurant applauded her. “Well said!”

“Some young girls nowadays are truly shameless. They‘re always looking to hook up with married

men!” “If such a woman existed a few decades ago, she would have been caned in public!”

Adina pursed her lips.

This was what happened nowadays. No matter what the situation was, as long as it involved a woman,

it would only be the woman’s fault.

People rarely reprimanded a man like Sean. She glanced at Sean before she left the restaurant with

Serene and her other colleagues.

With everyone staring at him, Sean became completely furious. He gave the woman a backhand slap.

“I shouldn‘t have listened to you and waited for Adina here. I was humiliated because of you! Get lost!”

The woman covered her face in disbelief. “Sean Gardner, you slapped me! Didn‘t you say you‘d treat

me well for a lifetime? I‘ve been so blind. Why would I be with a man like you?”

Sean looked annoyed. “Get out of my sight. You‘re annoying!”

There were too many women around him, and he would go through a few in a month. This woman had

been with him for a little longer, but it had just been half a year.

Unexpectedly, she started getting involved with his career.

If she had not insisted on coming along today, would Adina have insulted him in public?
