Eaton was surprised upon hearing Jason’s instruction.
However, he didn’t inquire further.
He knew that there must be a reason behind the investigation!
He nodded in compliance, “Okay.”
After Eaton left, Jason sat in his chair, his expression was solemn and contemplative.
He indeed harboured suspicions about Jenny.
When the children were brought back to the Hill Family years ago, they conducted DNA testing. But
why was she so adamant in claiming that the children were not his?
It didn’t seem like she was merely throwing a tantrum, but it was as if she had known the outcome from
the beginning.
That was why she continuously provoked Aletta at the Old Mansion, urging her to undergo DNA
testing. Clearly, she was convinced that Aletta would agree for the sake of protecting the children.
Moreover, something about her behaviour seemed off.
She exhibited a peculiar kind of stubbornness with the matter concerning Aletta and him.
With these thoughts in mind, Jason’s gaze darkened, and he inexplicably thought of Joe.
His eyebrows turned furrow, and he sensed that there was something suspicious going on.
Jason took out his phone and texted Ray, “Come to Hill Villa tomorrow.”Meanwhile, Aletta had been playing with the children until late at night since the next day was the
weekend.
When the time was about right, she got up and urged them, “It’s already late, it’s time to rest.”
“Okay!”
The children obediently put away their toys and returned them to the storage box, then followed Aletta
upstairs.
After returning to the room, Aletta tucked them into bed and covered them with the blanket.
She kissed each one of them before turning off the light, and she said, “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Mommy.”
After being kissed by Aletta, the children made a wish in their hearts to have the sweetest dream
tonight, preferably with both Daddy and Mommy in it!
Once she had settled them, Aletta went back to her room and took a shower.
When she came out, she was wearing a set of soft, creamy–yellow pyjamas, giving off a gentle and
refreshing appearance.
Her long hair cascaded down her shoulders, with a slight curl at the ends.
She went to the study room to look for Jason.
When she opened the door, Jason was sitting at the desk and engrossed in his work.
He looked serious and focused. A pair of frameless glasses rested on his high and delicate nose,
giving him a refined and intellectual air.Aletta felt her heart race with just one glance at him.
She composed herself and quickly walked over, gently inquiring, “Are you done with your work?”
Upon noticing her entrance, Jason took off his glasses and placed them on the edge of the desk.
Without the lenses, his gaze looked tender and bright.
He pulled her onto his lap, and his voice was soft, saying, “Almost done. Wait for me.”
“Okay,” Aletta responded obediently.
He held her in his arms and proceeded to handle the remaining documents, at a slightly faster pace.
Aletta nestled against him, feeling an indescribable sense of security.
After about ten minutes, Jason finished his work and asked, “Are you tired now?”
Aletta delicately yawned and lazily replied, “Hmm, a little.”
She had spent the afternoon in the research lab, experiencing fluctuating emotions, and now she felt a
wave of exhaustion she couldn’t resist.
Jason understood and he lifted her in his arms. “Let’s back to the room.”
Aletta had no intention of moving at this point and simply responded with a soft “Okay.”
She hooked her hands around his neck, allowing him to hold her.
Jason’s steps were steady, and she nestled in his embrace without experiencing any jolts, feeling so
comfortable that she wanted to fall asleep right away.
Soon, Jason carried her back to the room and placed her on the bed.He then went to the bathroom to wash up.
When he came out, Aletta was staring at the ceiling.
Seeing her reaction, Jason immediately pressed himself against her and showered her with kisses.
Aletta was surprised by his actions but obediently wrapped her arms around his shoulders in response.
Both of them had brushed their teeth, and their lips carried a hint of minty sweetness.
Aletta felt that Jason was acting somewhat unusually tonight.
It seemed like his passion had gone a bit overboard!
After sharing a few kisses, she took a moment to catch her breath and glanced at Jason. She asked,
“What’s wrong?”
With his gaze fixed on her clear and sparkling eyes, Jason’s voice became low and hoarse as he
replied, “Nothing. I just realized that I haven’t been good enough to you, especially in the past. I don’t
know why I treated you so poorly… So now, I want to cherish you.”
Although Aletta didn’t understand why he would think of these things suddenly, she felt content.

As soon as she said the words, Jason froze, caught off guard by her response.
He rarely displayed such disarray.
He never expected his words to receive the same reaction in return.
