Chapter 734
William was detained at the police station for three whole days. No one inquired about him or paid him a visit,
leaving him alone in the police station.
He shouted to everyone passing by that he was innocent, hoping to get some information from them, but everyone
who passed by was aloof and said nothing to him.
Gradually, William became downhearted. It appeared to him that the Gardners were fully aware that he was the
one who caused Ella's death. Otherwise, they would not have had enough evidence to keep him in custody for so
long.
Queenie and Lydia were busy trying to get William out too. Though William's life was unimportant to them, Queenie
was still Mrs. Gardner. If William's crime was proven, she would undoubtedly be expelled from the Gardner
household.

Every time she thought about it, she felt panicked. Thus, she was doing everything she could to find all of her
contacts who could help her.
However, she could not get any substantial assistance. Everyone thought her previous wedding was a joke, and with
no explanation provided by the Gardners, everyone assumed she had been chased out of the Gardner Family, and
thus no one wanted to meddle in her affairs.
She then sought out her 'good friends,' who had frequently asked for benefits from her in the past, hoping that they
could assist her in settling the matter with the cops.
However, those who had previously sweet-talked her avoided her as quickly as they could after learning about
William's situation.
"Stop pulling our legs, Miss Anderson. We are just ordinary people. How would we have the ability to get your father
out? You're looking for the wrong person."
"That's right. My family is doing business; they are not politicians. I can't help no matter how much I want to."
They provided all sorts of excuses to avoid helping Queenie.

Queenie's face turned red with rage when she heard all of their excuses. They all claimed to be her friends when
they needed her help in the past, but now that she was the one in trouble, they all refused to help and even avoided
her as if she were a plague.
She had finally seen through their sham pretenses.
Seeing that none of them were willing to help, Queenie bluntly exposed the excuses of one of them.
"Your uncle, if I recall correctly, works for the police. How could you now say that you've no way to help me?"
The lady who was exposed by Queenie immediately had an awful expression. Everyone in Lumore knew that
Queenie was now just a joke. They had all tried to lick her boots in the past because of her connection with the
Gardner Corporation, but now, everyone who was smart enough could see that the Gardner Corporation had
completely abandoned Queenie. Hence, there was no longer any need for them to please Queenie.
"That's not how things work, Miss Anderson. Your father was arrested for committing crimes. We can't help you with

that; looking for us is pointless."
Queenie's face flushed with rage as she observed their impolite behavior. She glared angrily at everyone in front of
her and spoke through gritted teeth, "I am still Mrs. Gardner! If you offend me now, don't expect any benefits from
me in the future!"
The lady who had been exposed earlier couldn't control herself and burst out laughing when she saw Queenie was
still reveling in her sweet dream.
"Mrs. Gardner? You're hilarious! Haven't you woken up after the wedding previously? You didn't marry Colton
Gardner; you married a scruffy man with the same name!"
When Queenie heard the lady's words, her face turned even paler. She refused to accept the truth and blurted out,
"That's bullsh*t! I am Colton's wife, and we've even gotten our marriage certificate. If you dare talk about another
rumor, I'll rip your tongue out!"
She became extremely anxious, her eyes red, as if someone had stepped on her sore spot.
"If President Gardner and you are truly married, and if you are the real Mrs. Gardner, why didn't President Gardner
help you in this matter. Instead, here you are coming to us for help!" the lady responded with a sneer. She had had
enough of Queenie's arrogance and was overjoyed to see her in such a helpless state now.
