Chapter 809
Gabriel abruptly fell silent when Evelyn brought up their sibling status.
Everything that took place in the hospital smelled a little fishy.
Nicole and Evelyn were born in the same hospital minutes apart, and Nicole's appearance was very similar to
Siobhan and Jackson's; they even shared the same blood type.
Following this chain of thought, I think the result I'll get is…
Gabriel briefly shut his eyes before he peered at Evelyn and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "Evelyn, keep your
tantrum away. Not everyone will spoil you as we do at home, and you've offended the Yates Family today. Do you
want to make enemies for our family everywhere?" he demanded composedly.
His tone was a little stern, and the muscles on his dashing face were rigid.
Evelyn initially merely wanted to complain and air out her troubles, but she didn't think that he would turn so stern,

and she stared at him, utterly at a loss. Her lips trembled, and tears rolled down her cheeks without warning.
She started sobbing quietly, looking piteous as her delicate shoulders shook in indignity.
She was already targeted when they were at the hospital. To make matters worse, even her own brother wouldn't
console her and started blaming her. She couldn't hold back feeling affronted for a moment, which caused her to
lose her composure.
Gabriel lowered his head while watching as she wiped away her tears and felt a little remorseful.
Evelyn carried no responsibility if such a crime did exist. Plus, the moment she was born, she was basked in the love
of the Wrenn and Gould Family. Although Jackson was highly disciplined person and military personnel, he was
especially doting on her.
In addition, as the young lady of the Wrenn Family, everyone around her was respectful to her, thus turning her into
a pompous woman.
Eventually, his heart softened, and he paced to her in stiff steps. He placed a palm on her back and comforted her,
"Alright, Evelyn. I was a little harsh earlier, and I'm sorry. Don't cry, okay?"

When she heard his gentle apology, she recollected herself and lifted her head, her eyes bloodshot from crying.
She pursed her lips and said, "Gabriel, am I a very jealous person now? I… I don't know what's wrong with me." She
sniffled as she held her head with a miserable look on her face.
She knew that her behavior was terrible and nasty, but whenever she encountered any matter involving Nicole, she
couldn't help but want to harm her.
She had never felt like this before, but for some inexplicable reason, she became precisely like the person she
looked down upon the most.
She received the best education since she was young, especially since, as an heiress, she had an image to uphold.
So, why did she become like a shrew on the streets?
Gabriel reached out, patted her back, and consoled her, saying, "It's okay, Evelyn. I know you dislike Nicole because
of Colton, but you can't force feelings. Colton has no feelings for you."

Evelyn blew her top the instant he mentioned Colton's name, and she jerked up her head, gritting her teeth. "You
know that I've always had a crush on Colton. So, even if he doesn't like me, I won't allow him to be with another
woman!"
Gabriel felt his head throbbing at her illogical snarl, and he finally understood that Evelyn's crush on Colton had
turned into an unhealthy and toxic obsession.
He regarded her cautiously, decided not to comment more, and simply shook his head. "It's getting late. Rest early,
Evelyn, and I'll wake you up in the morning tomorrow to go to the hospital together."
When she saw that Gabriel wasn't interested in continuing the conversation, she gave him a silent nod.
Yet, when Gabriel was at the door, he came to an abrupt stop and turned to face her. "The man at the hospital
today is Zachary Yates. Apologize to him if you run into him again because we have nothing to gain by making
enemies out of the Yates."
As Evelyn had calmed down a little, she was able to accept his advice with her usual grace and nodded obediently.
"Okay, I got it," she answered.
