Chapter 871
The following day was a sunny day. Since there was light rain at night, the sun went easy on the lives down there as
the morning temperature was just fine.
Nicole planned an outing for Hayden.
At first, Zachary planned to go with them. However, a call from work came in before the group departed. As he had
to deal with his work, Nicole and Hayden went on without him.
Nicole brought Hayden to a shopping mall that was situated downtown. She reserved a table in a restaurant, which
was well-known for its delicious dishes.
After all, all she did was sit around at home lately. Therefore, she thought about hanging out with her son.
Arriving at the restaurant, she ordered the food and set up the table for Hayden. Just then, an uninvited guest paid
her a visit.

She sat across the table from Nicole without asking for permission.
Scowling at the impolite behavior. Nicole raised her head in the other person's direction and met her gaze. Sasha.
A polite smile formed at the corner of Nicole's lips as she began with a distant attitude, "I'm sorry. Do I know you?"

Nicole hummed a response. Sasha gave off the vibe of a dangerous person. Nicole had a feeling that Sasha wasn't
the kind of person to be messed with, so she tried to keep her distance.
"We did. However, we hardly know each other. Miss Brimley, I'll appreciate it if you would cut to the chase."
Studying Nicole's composed face for a moment, Sasha shifted her gaze to Hayden. When she spoke, she no longer
dwelled on the previous topic.
"What an adorable boy. He resembles Colton so much."
Nicole immediately got the hint from Sasha's words. She is coming for Colton.

Nicole only smiled as she waited for Sasha to continue.
As expected, Sasha soon withdrew her gaze from Hayden. Now, she was meeting Nicole's gaze.
"Recently, Colton and Evelyn's engagement has gone viral across the nation. Miss Anderson, aren't you worried at
all?"
Nicole's lips were pursed together and formed a thin line when she cast the other woman a faint smile. She asked,
"What should I be worried about?"
Sasha never expected Nicole to give her an indifferent answer. Knitting her brows, she asked after a moment of
pondering, "Don't you have any feelings for Colton?"
"I don't." Nicole gave her a simple answer.
Out of nowhere, Sasha was chuckling at Nicole's resolution. Raising her hand to her lips, she chuckled one last time
before she claimed,
"Miss Anderson, there's no use deceiving yourself. I can tell from your eyes that you like him."
"Is that so?" Nicole raised her brows at Sasha's assumption. Her expression was both calm and amused. Then, she

"Miss Brimley, stop wasting your time on me. No matter what you are trying to do, it's going to be a futile attempt.
If you want to stop Colton from marrying Evelyn, go ahead. Don't involve me in your problem."
Even though Nicole exposed her plan, Sasha managed to keep her composure. She didn't bother to beat around
the bush.
"Your son is Colton's blood. Are you not in the least bit affected by Colton's engagement? Do you want to make your
son a b*stard with no father?"
Sasha's comment hit a sore spot. Nicole couldn't help but frown, and her calm gaze was now shooting daggers at
Sasha.
"Miss Brimley, if that's all you want to tell me, I've heard enough. My son is an excellent child. Besides, it's my family
affairs, so mind your own business,"
Nicole warned coolly. As she finished, she added in the same cold tone,
"Moreover, I'm not as naive as you think. I'm not interested in becoming your pawn. Please, you can find somebody
else."
