Nicole giggled and ruffled his dark hair. "Okay, I'm sorry about that. I just wanted to buy some food for
you before coming home," she said with a smile and took out the box of cookies she bought from the
pastry shop.
Fortunately, she passed by this pastry shop when she was out with Wendy. Hayden had always had a
particular fondness for sweet treats. Thus, she reflexively bought a box and placed it in her pocket.

laughter at the cautious way he was carrying himself, but she had to smother her laughter because
Hayden was fast asleep.
