Chapter 757
Since the Gardners disapproved of Colton's relationship with Nicole, they forbid the two from seeing each other.
Apart from Olivia, other relatives who weren't close to the Gardners arrived at the Gardner Residence. All of them
said that Colton would be unfilial if he insisted on being with Nicole. After all, Nicole's father had killed Old Mrs.
Gardner.
During the whole conversation, Colton had a blank look on his face as he kept quiet.
Even Benedict and Benjamin were stopping him from being together with Nicole.
At nighttime, the night sky was as black as a raven after it had rained. As Colton stood on the balcony on the
second floor of the mansion, he put his hands on the rail and looked coldly at his relatives who were chattering
noisily on the first floor. Suddenly, he heard a sound coming from behind him, indicating that someone was coming.

Then, he regained his composure and tilted his head over to look who it was.
It was Benjamin.
Looking at Colton's cold expression, Benjamin sat on the bench and said in a low voice, "Sit. Let's talk."
Hearing his words, Colton stiffened, but he didn't refuse. Then, he sat in front of Benjamin while remaining silent.
Looking at him in such a state, Benjamin sighed. After all, how could he not know what sort of personality his son
had? After pondering for a moment, he said softly, "I have never interfered with your relationship because I know
you have your boundaries. I also know that you love Nicole, but her father killed your grandma. With this incident in
the way, you can't be with her."
Colton's eyes darkened when he knew what Benjamin was going to say. "Nicole wasn't raised in the Anderson
Residence. Moreover, William has already cut ties with her." As he spoke, his voice was deep and hoarse.
Benjamin picked up his words and said, "Their blood relation will never be gone, Colton. If you insist on being with
Nicole, you would be giving up on the Gardner Family."

A sarcastic smile appeared on Colton's lips when he heard that. Then, he looked at Benjamin and said, "Dad, do you
think it is me who needs this family? Or is it the other way around?"
Years ago, the Gardner Corporation was only well-known in the country. Only after when Colton managed the
company did it become internationally famous. In other words, it was all thanks to Colton for the rise of the Gardner
Corporation.
Benjamin's eyes darkened when he heard Colton's words. "Even if you want to give up on the company, are you
also going to give up on your parents, grandfather, and Wendy?" he asked.
Hearing his words, Colton pursed his lips and didn't say anything more.
Seeing Colton in deep thought, Benjamin patted him on the shoulder and said, "I won't force you to do anything.
Just think about it." Then, he left the room, leaving Colton sitting there alone as he stared into space.

Colton relaxed his limbs and had a thoughtful expression on his face.
Father is right. Nicole is William's daughter. Even if they've cut ties off with each other, their blood relation is still
there. Although I can give up on the company, I can't leave my family. Ah, if only Nicole wasn't William's daughter.
Thinking about it, a mocking smile appeared on Colton's face. In this quiet atmosphere, he could feel a stinging pain
in his heart. He closed his eyes and decided to stop thinking about it.
Just as he was in deep thought, he suddenly heard a soft voice. "Colton?"
When he heard the person's voice, Colton opened his eyes and looked over to find Wendy. He regained his
expression and asked softly, "What's wrong? It's late now. Why aren't you sleeping yet?"
When Wendy heard his voice, she quickly rushed toward him and sat by his side. "It's noisy downstairs. Many
strangers are claiming to be our relatives, and Mom isn't able to slip away. Thus, she told me to come and comfort
you," Wendy said as she propped her chin with one hand.
Listening to her words, Colton smiled faintly. Then, he ruffled her hair and said with a raspy voice, "Alright, you
should go to bed now. I'm fine, and I can handle this myself."
Although Colton had said so, Wendy was still worried about him. After all, she had seen how distraught Colton was
when Sasha left seven years ago.
