"Mom, Dad, what's wrong? Why did you come back looking so serious?" she asked in her best attempt
to keep her tone light.
As Siobhan lifted her gaze to look at her, a sharp look flashed past her eyes. She lowered her voice
and said in a steely tone, "Don't you know what you've done? Why are you asking us?"
Evelyn's gaze faltered, but she quickly concealed the look in her eyes. With a small laugh, she said
mildly, "Mom, what are you talking about? I have no idea at all."
Upon seeing that Evelyn was still playing dumb, Siobhan was filled with fury. How did the daughter she
had raised for so many years turn out to be someone full of lies?
She angrily slammed a hand on the table with a loud bang and roared sternly, "Evelyn, you used my
identity to lure Nicole to the hospital, then made her go to the opposite room and caused her
miscarriage because of it! Do you know how serious this matter is?"
Evelyn had never seen Siobhan lose her temper before, and she cowered in fear. Soon, her eyes filled
with tears as she sniffled, saying in a choked voice, "I know that I'm not your daughter anymore, so you
have a problem with me now."
