During the seventh class, or otherwise known as the last class of the day, I heard that the school doctor called Xiao Qin’s mother, and Auntie Ren drove over to pick up her daughter.
I abruptly thought that it was normal for Auntie Ren to own a car. But if she had a car, why did Xiao Qin take the subway to school everyday? Why doesn’t she just ask her mom to drop her off in the mornings?
Is it because Auntie Ren is too busy, or because Xiao Qin wants to bump into me on the way to school?
In addition, Auntie Ren probably rushed here from the set, and probably delayed her work. I hope those Hollywood directors won’t make things difficult for her. Aren’t American films imbued with the principal of “family first”. Now that Auntie Ren is placing her family first, shouldn’t you be comforted?
I looked through the window and saw a bumblebee, which I assume was Auntie Ren’s car? The car looked warm based on the colors, it’s probably something Xiao Qin likes.
I remember from an article on the newspaper that Auntie Ren was extremely dedicated when working as a martial arts tutor. She would always be the first one to arrive on set and the last to leave. I’m guessing Xiao Qin probably holds a big part in Auntie Ren’s heart, since she would delay work to come pick up her sick daughter.
If you had such a doting mother, but grew up with such a terrible personality, then you can’t really blame anyone but yourself!
Xiao Qin did not come to class the next day either. According to Loud Mouth, she took multiple sick days.
Was having a period this scary? Or was it extremely painful because it was her first time?
Regardless of how curious I was, I couldn’t just ask a female student since I would be labeled as a pervert.
I could only lie on my desk pretending to sleep while pricking my ears up to listen to their conversations.
When they talked about Xiao Qin’s absence, they basically only said: “How frail, she easily gets sick!”. It really didn’t clear my doubts or explain anything.
Since Xiao Qin didn’t come to school, the 6 person meal at noon will now only be a 5 person meal.
I felt a bit sorry for Xiao Qin. I finally invited her for a meal, but now she’s sick and can’t come.
But you can’t really blame me. There was song called “Sui Yuan” used in the movie “Tai-Chi Master” starring Jet Li. Xiao Qin didn’t get sick earlier or later, she got sick right when I invited her, which means that we were not meant to be.
Looks like the heavens weren’t on Xiao Qin’s side.
I was gratified, however if one day god decides to help Xiao Qin, I wouldn’t just give up. There’s a cool phrase in “Tai-Chi Master” which said “I’m in control of my own fate!”
Even though it was a line said by a bad guy, it still left a strong impression on me. When I just started working out, I would always repeat that line to motivate me to work harder and push past my limits.
The third class was P.E and no one wanted to play basketball with me. When I was doing chin-ups by myself, I saw the class leader walk towards me with a calm and collected face.
Usually there would be a group of dudes near the horizontal bars flexing their muscles, but when they saw me coming, they all scattered.
Thus the workout bars area became a private discussion ground for me and the class leader.
The class leader stood next to where I was performing chin-ups. She didn’t open her mouth to speak, but slightly raised her head. She had semi closed eyes because of the sun’s rays. She quietly stared at me while I did 20 or so chin-ups.
Maybe it’s because guys are braggarts, the more girls stare, the more we like to show off.
I shifted all my power towards my arms, and increased the speed of my chin-ups. I became faster and faster, and more excited than I’ve ever been.
I peeked at the class leader’s expression while doing chin-ups.
How was that? Aren’t I strong? Probably much stronger than your weakling brother? Now you should know how scary I am, you should stop bothering me in the future, understand?
Regretfully, the class leader’s expression didn’t really change. From start to end, it was like she was watching a monkey doing somersaults, she was neither interested nor impressed.
I was a bit disappointed, I lost focus for one second, and I sprained the muscles in my right wrist. I tightly clenched my teeth so I didn’t display any expressions of pain.
Although I couldn’t do any more chin-ups because of my injured wrist, I felt like it would have spoiled the fun if I just jumped down. So I raise my legs, did a 180 turn using my legs to hold the bar, and I hung there like a bat.
Coincidentally, her eyes were at the same level of mines. I guess it could count as a meaningful meeting.
It seems like that class leader didn’t like the position of our eyes. She slighted turned her face to shift her gaze.
“So you weren’t hurt.”
Eh? The class leader saw me sprain my wrist? What does she mean by I’m not hurt? Is she mocking me?
“Hurt? I’m obviously not hurt! Why would I be hurt?”
I’ve concluded, from numerous fights, that the secret is to keep cool. Basically you cannot expose your weakness in front of your enemies.
I stared into the class leader’s ink black pupils. The more she escaped, the more I stared.
I wanted to keep staring at her until she was afraid of looking at me. But she got annoyed and started staring back at me. In the end, it was me who shifted my gaze.
I accidentally lost a round in the fight of the Justice Devil VS Metal-blooded Lone Wolf. I must struggle harder in the future.
“Didn’t you say that you were going to hack people?” The class leader’s following phrase was indifferent, as if she was discussing the weather, “In the end you didn’t even get hurt. Your opponents are so weak!”
Eh? You still remember the random BS I told you on Saturday!? You stared at me while I was doing chin-ups just to check for injuries? Why are you inspecting me! Even if I was beaten to near death, that has nothing to do with you!
“Oh, you were asking about my opponents…” I grinned, “You can’t really call them weak, steel bars and bricks are fun to use, but a boss like me doesn’t have to fight. I just have to stand back and yell ‘hack those mofos and a bunch of underlings would do the work for me. In the end I was victorious. My opponents were hospitalized, and now that area belongs to us!”
After my boasting session, expressions of disgust and doubt started to surface on the class leader’s face. She walked a quarter of a circle around me while keeping her distance as if she was inspecting a hanging corpse. Finally she walked to my side and held onto the bar while gazing into the distance.
“Since you expanded your territory, you now have money to treat people to meals?”
I didn’t mishear, her tone was filled with hatred.
She probably heard from Loud Mouth that I was going to treat them to a meal. But because of what I told her on Saturday, her first impression is that my money came from protection fees.
“What, you’re not going?” I wanted to diverge the topic of discussion, “Shouldn’t we spend the money we have? Do you think it would just multiply by keeping it?”
“I’m not going.” Although her voice was quite, it was resolute, “Use the money on treatment for your underlings, after all they fought for you.”
Eh? Why did you start caring for my non-existent underlings? Wasn’t your dream to becoming a criminal police officer? Why are you acting like a mob wife!
We were already missing Xiao Qin, if the class leader doesn’t come, it would be even more disappointing.
Thus I told the leader that I was just joking and we weren’t able to fight on Sunday since the place got flooded.
Then I told her that I was treating them to a meal as thanks for taking care of Xiao Qin. To show my sincerity, I won’t use my allowance or protection fees, all the money came from Cao JingShen and my job.
The class leader became slightly less tense, but still remained skeptical.
“The school prohibits middle school students from working! Where did you guys find jobs?”
I say, did you forget that Cao JingShen’s dad was a director? He was lacking in manpower, so we helped him move equipment and buy food.
Luckily the class leader didn’t know Director Cao’s job was filming adult films. Otherwise she would probably die from anger imagining two middle schoolers helping moving adult film equipment and passing lunchboxes to sweaty actors.
After the class leader heard that I was sincerely treating them with my hard earned money, she hesitated slightly, but finally agreed to meet up.
I would say half the reason was because she didn’t trust me being alone with Loud Mouth and Little Smart.
“Stop hanging up there, it’s dangerous.”
The class leader said inadvertently as she left.
Why would I come down just because you told me to! How embarrassing would it be if I listened to you!
I ignored her and hung on the bars for half the class. I only hopped down when all the blood rush to my head and my ears were swollen.
Hmph, I’ve seen through her plans. Shu Sha wants to control me and turn me into a model student. She wants me to be one of her loyal dogs… but I won’t fall for it!
“Raising someone needs money, raising dogs need meat, but no one can raise wolves!”
Which anime was that line from? I can’t really remember… but it doesn’t matter, as long as I get my meaning across.
