Chapter 473 Warfare (1)

"Is everyone ready to rumble?" Dilan shouted out loud while unsheathing the Blessed Blade and the Cursed Dagger.

He played around with them for a few seconds before he grasped them tightly, bringing the weapons to a halt.

After taking a deep breath, Dilan began to circulate mana through his serpentine eyes. He prepared himself and began to insert mana through his entire body.

His physical strength increased drastically and so did his perception. All his senses were at their peak, which allowed him to hear the thundering noises of the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction, followed by the trembling earth that reached them within seconds.

The ground was shaking terribly and the Ascenders, who had already been lying on the ground due to Rory's Dragon Authority, were almost buried under the ground that burst open.

"The Hell?!?" Xenia cursed out loud, just for Williams, her former gang leader, to nod his head in understanding.

"The power over earth?" Williams blurted out after a few seconds, but Sven shook his head.

"I don't think that it's this simple," He said before he pointed toward the right side of the Hordes' masses.

On the right side of the Hordes, one could easily see four humongous existences that towered above everyone else.

[Chaos Islands? When did they appear…?] Rory seemed taken aback by the existence, or precisely the appearance of the four Islands.

"They look like the Tier-5 Island Turtle I've seen before, just smaller," Dilan commented, "These four are definitely weaker!"

Rory looked at Dilan for a moment, confusion gleaming in her eyes as she asked,

[You've encountered a Tier-5 Island Turtle?...Whatever, that's not important right now…] Rory uttered [Chaos Islands have no real combat prowess but they devour everything around them except beings with the Swirl of Chaos within them!]

Dilan's eyes widened slightly when he heard what Rory said. He stared intently at the Chaos Islands which looked like floating islands.

Two of them looked like huge islands that spread out into flatlands and forests, while the other two Floating islands were a big desert with an Oasis in the center, and a huge jungle filled with countless monsters.

"And how to defeat them if they devour everything?" Dilan asked in a quite nonchalant manner.

Rory was not panicking at the sight of the Chaos Islands but it was more precise to say that she was shocked.

Thus, there was no actual need to worry.

[Defeat them? That's gonna be hard] Rory answered.

"I didn't expect it to be easy," Dilan retorted and his attention quickly swept over to the Hordes of Chaos and Destruction.

He couldn't be sure how many Chaos Monsters had appeared in front of him but what he could tell was that his mind was already thinking of ways to obliterate the Chaos Islands.

[Chaos Islands continue to feed on others like parasites until they reach maturity. Afterward, their lethality decreases drastically because they won't need to devour much of their surrounding area to sustain themselves.

With the power they gained from devouring, they'll be able to create Gates to various exotic places that cannot be reached by normal means!] Rory explained just to receive a glare from Dilan.

"That doesn't really answer my question," He said before he sighed as he added, "thought I figured a way to defeat them…overfeeding!"

Dilan's plans were quite simple, give the Chaos Islands everything they need to mature without sacrificing his own people or the entire continent.

He looked at the Chaos Monsters with a glint in his eyes and he subconsciously licked his lips in anticipation.

[That's not going to work. You cannot use the Chaos Monsters as the Chaos Islands' nourishment!] Rory repeated herself but Dilan wasn't listening to the Red Dragon anymore.

He was already formulating a plan to tackle the situation.

Thus, he activated [Walk of Thunder] and [Second Acceleration] using more than 50 Units of Mana before he used the Cursed Dagger's [Blood Sacrifice] trait to increase his Agility and Strength by 50 Units each.

After activating [Mantle of Elements], Dilan ended up summoning an Intermediate Lightning Spirit, which increased his lethality and speed by another notch.

Dilan was not done even then and he made use of his own comprehension of Green Magic to shroud his body in powerful air currents that swept through the surrounding area before they pushed him ahead.

With a stride that accompanied his whole strength, he shot forward, crossing a distance of more than a thousand meters in the blink of an eye. Dilan accelerated rapidly and it was only a matter of time before he ended up in front of millions of Chaos Monsters that were ready to tear him apart.

A few agility-based Chaos Monsters at Tier-3 attempted to pounce at him, but the moment Dilan saw them he began to smile brightly. He leaned forward until his upper body nearly touched the ground before activating his special trait [Bearer of Pain].

He replenished all the Mana he had used up before by using his Life force, which activated [Bracing Pain], thereby increasing his stats drastically. But that was not everything because Dilan was not ready to show mercy to his opponents.

Without a trace of hesitation, Dilan activated [Power-Up] and he accessed the Hyel Destructo Armor's set effect, the power of destruction.

It was not long ago that Dilan got his hands on the Hyel Destructo Armor Set and it took him a while to gain a rough understanding of the Power of Destruction, but finally he had attained a minor comprehension of it.

The Hordes of Chaos and Destruction had helped him achieve this and it was exactly this power that would cause their death, whether they were willing to accept it or not.

Crackling noises originating from the Blessed Blade and the Cursed Dagger resounded through the surrounding area. It rang through the ears of all Ascenders around them and the millions of Chaos Monsters that were charging toward Dilan and his people, who had begun to move ahead as well.

Taking a deep breath, an enormous amount of Mana circulated through his arms, inside his weapons which increased the crackling noises being emitted by them.

Semi-translucent waves splurged out of the weapons and destruction followed wherever they landed. Every single motion of Dilan was enough to burst open the ground or to leave behind blade marks in the surrounding area.

However, that wasn't enough for Dilan because he wanted to make sure that all Chaos Monsters would focus on him rather than his people.

"Come at me, if you dare!!" He roared at the top of his lungs while activating [Taunt], the ability that originated from the Artifact of Traction.

By using [Taunt] with a large amount of mana inserted, it was possible for him to attract more Chaos Monsters from the surroundings.

A terrific suctioning force began to radiate from him and the masses of Chaos Monsters altered their trajectory to charge straight at him.

Hundreds of Chaos Monsters trampled each other, in which the smaller ones were squashed to death, while the bigger ones were either injured by even larger monsters, or they were the ones trampling the smaller monsters.

Dilan smiled at the effect of [Taunt], excitement flooded his body and adrenaline began to pump through his veins.

"Let the War begin!"
