Soul bound by Dilan Cier]

Dilan intently read through the changes of his Armor set.

He had been holding the reports Williams had handed him so tightly that they turned into shreds before he could even notice.

The evolved item ability of his Gloves of Destructo and Power had been activated as various emotions swept through his body.

"They're dead…" Dilan mumbled without a change in his expression.

"Who?" Williams asked almost instantaneously when he realized that something bad had happened.

"Some of my Slaves, a bunch of Vampires that I've turned have been killed…and Rory sustained a bunch of injuries…" He answered, still seemingly calm. However, Williams could tell that Dilan was trying hard to keep his cool.

The moment Dilan's emotions would be unleashed at once, he would unintentionally injure many people around him.

Nobody was even close to attaining the strength Dilan had reached by now. He was one of a kind in the Undying Group and his targeted bloodlust was already enough to severely injure those around him, or even kill them!

"Rory is injured?!" Williams exclaimed in shock, "...but isn't she a Tier-4 Mythical Creature?... How?!"

Dilan tried to force himself to not frown when he heard what Williams said but the only thing that escaped his lips was another heavy sigh.

"I can only feel that she is slowly getting closer to us and that she has been injured on her way back. As for who, or what attacked her…I have no idea!" He said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Thousands of thoughts flashed through Williams' mind and it was not long after that he dashed out of the office where he and Dilan had been talking.

Dilan was left behind in the office on his own, his Soul aching with delay from the injury Rory had sustained.

"I shouldn't be hurting when she is the one who got injured. That is not how the Soul Imprint works…" He mumbled through his gritted teeth. Something was definitely wrong but Dilan could only wait for Rory and the others to find out what had actually happened.

'What the hell attacked her…it must have injured her soul for me to feel it as well…' He was still thinking about the attack even though he had warned himself to wait until Rory returned to Camsun.

Through their connection, he could tell that she was already flying above the Ocean, meaning that she would be back at the Sanctum early in the morning even though she was much slower than usual.

He sighed a third time and chose to distract himself by visiting one of the Gates of Thousand Realms.

These Gates led to entirely different realms that inhabited monsters and races in their own isolated realm. The Realms had their own rules and restrictions, which is why it was a lot harder for ordinary Ascenders to survive inside them.

Even for Dilan it was far from easy to obliterate an entire realm, not only because the Realms were larger than ordinary planets but also because the existences inhabiting the Realms were far from ordinary.

By now, Dilan had already encountered a few Tier-4 Mythical creatures inside these Realms, and he hadn't been strong enough to actually defeat some of them.

It was never necessary for him to go all-in to survive but he could tell that even if he were to use all his might, he would be severely injured or end up on death's door. Though he might be able to defeat Tier-4 Mythical creatures, his condition afterward would be disastrous, and allow weaker beings to play around with him.

As he stared into the starry sky upon leaving the Sanctum, Dilan saw one of the few flying islands that had emerged above Camsun during the last three weeks.

Two of the four Chaos Islands had transformed into flying islands when a temple emerged on top of them.

Aerial races had made use of the nurtured Chaos Islands to turn them into their new territory high up in the air. Dilan was actually not bothered about that and it was more interesting for him to figure out what exactly the aerial races had done to turn the Chaos Islands into proper flying islands.

However, his mind would always start worrying about his sisters. He knew that many new races had emerged in Camsun and that there were many things that concerned the Undying Group, but Dilan felt that his Ascenders were strong enough to take care of the trouble all by themselves.

They didn't actually need him anymore, and his presence was merely for their reassurance that they would be safe. Many didn't want to face perilous situations in which their survivability was questionable.

But that was not of Dilan's concern.

Time seemed to drag itself for Dilan, even after he entered one of the Gates of Thousand Realms to distract himself. Hours felt like months in which Dilan was fully tensed and uncertain about what was going on in the Arikan continent for someone like Rory to sustain injuries.

His tension was only released when he saw Rory landing in front of the Sanctum's entrance. She looked exhausted, some of her scales had been torn out of her body and a long and deep gash ran through the length of her chest.

She was breathing heavily and Dilan had a sorry expression on his face.

Yet, Rory's condition was amongst the best. The Red Dragon had brought back all remaining living Slaves and recently turned Vampires with herself. Their health was deteriorating and the vast majority of them had been crippled by cutting off a few limbs, injuring their brain, or damaging their Essence crystal.

"What the hell happened there?" Dilan couldn't help but ask in confusion and anger when he saw the condition of his subordinates. Almost all of them were at the third Tier by now, but even that hadn't been enough for them to survive the dangers in Arikan.

Rory's heavy head turned over to Dilan and a wave of warmth spread through his heart as the Red Dragon used their connection.

[We encountered him…] She said, leaving Dilan in a confused state.

"Encountered whom?" He thus asked, not sure what Rory meant.

[We had a face-off with…your father!]

"What?!?
