Chapter 700 We’re Desperate?

Dilan cleaned himself by flooding his body with compressed scalding water before he dried his body with the help of the Flame of the Beginning.

He wasn't even injured from the scalding water, let alone the Flame of the Beginning and he entered the room, cleaned up and looking as fresh as ever before.

Kathrine looked at his narcissistic smile and she began to frown deeply.

'This idiot is really full of himself…but he looks better now…this bastard…'

Inside the large hall where more than a hundred Lesser Gods and more than a dozen True Gods were seated, Dilan found himself as the center of attention in no time.

Everyone stared at him, whether they smiled, frowned, or clicked their tongue in dissatisfaction.

Dilan ignored them all as he approached the seat next to Ariel Silvertale and his friends and family.

"I guess that's mine?" He asked nonchalantly and Ariel Silvertale answered him with an inconspicuous nod. Dilan's calmness attracted the interest of many Gods in the room but it was even more interesting that he was completely unaffected by Ariel Silvertale's beauty.

After she became the Queen of the Essence Angels, Ariel SIlvertale turned even more beautiful. Some people said that this was not possible and they considered it a stupid rumor that didn't make any sense but others knew the truth.

It was hard for most Lesser Gods, let alone Demi Gods or mortals to breathe next to her. Some even lost consciousness by staying near her. The only exceptions were other Essence Angels and True Gods. Those were usually less affected by the enchanting presence she radiated subconsciously. It was not even something she could control anymore.

The only Lesser Gods who could endure her presence without much difficulty other than Essence Angels were a bunch of members of the Undying Group. They were all Lesser Gods who had been born from the system's guidance and they had worked together with Ariel Silvertale for years.

However, even then it was difficult for the men to stay close to her without getting influenced. Nobody could look her in the eyes, let alone speak nonchalantly to her, except Dilan.

It looked like he spoke to a good friend, nonchalantly and without the use of unnecessary honorifics.

Sitting down right next to her, Dilan took a proper look around the room.

He noticed that nobody was seated next to Ariel Silvertale, probably because of the pressure she radiated. Calling it pressure was not correct but Dilan could disperse it, so that didn't really matter to him. The closest person next to Ariel Silvertale was a True Goddess from a race he never met before.

In fact, there were a bunch of races in the hall whom he had never met before. But looking at the way they acted with each other, it was pretty much confirmed that these meetings on the floating island were nothing uncommon.

'Our allies?' Dilan thus asked Rory through telepathy. Usually, telepathy requires the usage of mana. However, he didn't want to let anyone know that he had to resort to the use of mana right now.

It was the first time for him to join this kind of meeting and it would be a little bit weird if he were to act like a fool in front of everyone.

He could clearly feel that he was the strongest in the room but that was not actually a surprise, not to him at least.

Some True Gods were staring at him trying to estimate his combat prowess, however, Dilan ignored them after he realized that they couldn't even sense the danger he exuded.

[Most of them can be considered our Allies. Ariel used her connections to bring a few representatives of powerful races to this table. The races were carefully picked to make sure that they don't like the oppressing attitude of the Ancient and Primordial races. They signed a non-disclosure agreement with a seal of their soul as well, so you don't need to be too worried about a betrayal either!]

Dilan was quite surprised that Ariel's connections were that far spread out but he didn't say anything. Instead, he smiled lightly in her direction before he turned his head back to the huge table to finish his estimation of the representatives' strength.

[Due to the non-disclosure agreement they've signed, it was easy to share the information about the Mystic Mission, and show everyone the memories that you've sealed in the memory shards. This made things a lot easier.

Now the only issue is that they need to know how strong you have become. That way, they can tell whether you're worth investing in or not. That's basically the last hurdle you have to overcome before we can start negotiating!]

Dilan digested the information he received from Rory in the blink of an eye and he nodded his head.

"I heard that you guys have been waiting for me!" Dilan said. He got up from his chair and put on a light smile.

"Looks like everyone here wants to see my strength if I'm worth the risk. But isn't that a little bit unfair? I don't even know your qualifications, let alone if anyone here is actually worth being negotiated with."

Dilan dropped the bomb in a sharp and ice-cold tone. He didn't care about the outburst of mana that was unleashed all around him and merely smiled at the representatives, whose manners and attitude were definitely not favorable.

A representative of a race was supposed to be calm and composed, not bad-tempered and easily provoked. But the representatives that shot up in anger might as well be the calmest of their race, so Dilan didn't do anything.

"You guys are way too desperate and in search of allies. Aren't you a little bit too dishonest with yourself? You need every single Lesser God you can get your hands on!" One of them shouted out loud but Dilan just smiled.

His sky blue eyes darted toward the lizard-man or whatever kind of True God he was.

"Is that so? Who told you that bullshit?"
