Chapter 663 Hypocrites

"Don't you hate the Angel's Haven Alliance as well?" Dilan thus asked to help out Ariel a tiny little bit.

"Of course, I do. They're annoying and don't care about the humans they've turned into cannon fodder…but you did the right thing, nonetheless…" Yvonne answered while glaring at Ariel, who rarely saw that much anger and hatred in the eyes of an ordinary human.

Though calling Yvonne ordinary was a little bit too much, she didn't possess any demonic mana or the power of a Devil. She didn't sell her soul for a deal with the Devil!

Ariel Silvertale was able to tell that the vast majority of humans and monsters saw the Angel's Haven Alliance in an unfavorable light. She could feel their anger, hatred, and the suffering they had gone through.

The Princess of Haven knew that she had never encountered anyone living on the flying island before, yet, it looked like the same couldn't be said the other way around.

"Did I destroy your home, or kill your families?" She thus asked straightforwardly. Her expression had changed a little since she encountered Dilan, but it was not to the extent that one would wonder who the imposter of Ariel Silvertale was and where the real Ariel Silvertale had been brought.

Her expression didn't show many emotions but that only highlighted her appearance. She was glowing in a faint golden hue, showing clearly that she was different from the existences around her.

Her beauty was striking and it was enough to invoke problems for most men and weaker women to face her head-on, even if it was just to answer a normal question.

Only a few were able to talk properly with the Princess of Haven without being influenced by her beauty and the naturally released traces of her Power. Even Rory was influenced a little bit by Ariel Silvertale's presence. However, the influence was not strong enough to muddle her mind. Yvonne's mind was also clear, and so were Victoria's mind and Kathrine's

As for the people, who could look into her eyes while facing her head-on, they could be counted on one hand, Dilan included.

Yet, unexpectedly enough, it was Victoria, who answered Ariel's question while trying to stare coldly into the deep golden eyes.

"You didn't destroy our home, or our families because the Primordial Ascension took all of that from us. However, the Fourth Awakening and the greed of all the races, the hundreds of Gods who desired Milarn for its treasures and the system, were what brought true desperation…they showed us what real fear was…what it meant to be weak…

We were just unlucky to be pulled in the battle of the Gods, in the Angel Haven Alliance's fight against their Nemesis, and all the other battles…we were even pulled in a fight with the Sun God for no apparent reason…except that we wanted to live…we desired to survive, even after you turned Camsun, and probably the whole world into a living hell…we struggled, but survived…just to be still too weak to protect a small piece of land such as the flying island…

Please tell me one thing, Miss…Archangel God…what would have happened to the flying island if not for Dilan's interference? Would you have really bothered about our lives if you could have gotten your hands on the Divine Relict and the Sun God much faster by destroying the flying island?"

Victoria's answer astonished Dilan, and also Ariel Silvertale. She didn't expect that someone else would be able to look into her eyes for that long. Multiple bloodlines had merged in Victoria's blood, but it was her willpower that allowed Victoria to look into Ariel's eyes for so long.

She was exhausted now but Victoria was satisfied that she finished her speech clearly without breaking down in front of Ariel. But that woman's eyes were truly scary, and her presence was no joke either…

Dilan looked at the others, who patted VIctoria's back. They congratulated her for what she said and the willpower she showed by staring deep in Ariel's golden eyes.

It was almost as if they compared Ariel with Medusa or a Basilisk and that they would be turned to stone from a single glance. Dilan was confused but he quickly understood what was going on.

'Victoria lost everything that connected her to the past thanks to the Fourth Awakening…'

He recalled that he had wanted to ask her about the Mutants and the Vampires she had turned. However, he forgot about it because they had been so busy.

In the end, he only knew that Victoria lost everything and that even his Slaves had died. As for how they did, it was not really important enough to ask because Dilan could already guess it…the wars took whatever and whoever they wanted, no matter who they were!

However, Dilan felt also a little bit complicated by their hatred toward Ariel Silvertale. She was not innocent, but it was not as if she was the only Lesser God, who desired to become a True God with the use of the Primordial Ascension's system.

She wanted her entire race to prosper, just like many other races had desired as well. Those others had to die because of their desire was obvious..but that was how it had always been, for millennials…

Furthermore, it was quite obvious that neither Dilan nor his other people had the right to complain about the cruelty of others.

They killed millions of monsters within months and eradicated countless members of other races for their own growth. So how were others different?

In the end, Dilan understood that he and the others were hypocrites. However, while Dilan accepted being a hypocrite, the others voiced out their concerns, fear and struggle, rather than forgiving one of the Alliance who was amongst the major reasons for their suffering!!

But it was not as if that could be considered something bad. Dilan understood their feelings wholeheartedly…

The Universe was just that cruel…
