“Fine, fine, I’ll come home once I’m done here,” Sarah said. Seeing Eugene stand up, she quickly hung
up and
stood up as well.
‘Why did her mother suddenly call her and lie to her about something like that?’ Sarah wondered.
She walked over and grabbed Eugene’s hand, who was just about to leave. Eugene turned around,
saw it was Sarah, and said, “What are you doing?” He had already made things very clear after he
found out who Sarah was. He did not want anything to do with her. This woman left Charlie as soon as
something happened to Charlie and even rubbed salt in the Calsis family’s wound. He despised her.
Sarah said, “Eugene, you’re not really going to ignore me like this, are you? I know I was wrong for
doing that to Charlie, I was too young to know what was right. Plus, he’s in love with my sister now, you
saw how
lovey-dovey they are, he doesn’t need me! Don’t stay mad at me, please?”
She hugged Eugene’s arm tighter as she said. No matter what, she had to get this man to fall in love
with her! Women chasing men always works! It was not like she was hideous or something, how could
Eugene reject
her?
‘It’s all that cripple Charlie’s fault, why did he have to cause me trouble even after he got married?’
Eugene was absolutely disgusted hearing her talk. He did not hold back and shoved Sarah away onto
the floor. “Stop annoying me, got it? I have nothing to do with you, and neither do I know who you are.”
Then, Eugene walked right out. Cristina Lagarde should get off work very soon, he had to go pick her
up!
Sarah fell onto the ground. Eugene walked away and everyone around saw how embarrassed she
was. She was boiling. She stood up and said angrily, “Eugene Oneill you jerk! You should feel
honoured I like you! What a non-gentleman!” She was raging!
Sarah left the restaurant and drove home. She became more irritated the more she thought about it on
her way home. She parked the car in front of her house, got out and walked in. Leah was waiting. “You
finally came back.”
“Mom,” Sarah said, “I’m super mad.”
“About what?” Leah asked, “Keep it down, your dad is angry.”
“What is he mad about? I didn’t do anything wrong. Hasn’t Charlie been good to him lately?” After
Sarah’s father’s relationship with Charlie got better, she was no longer as hated by her father as much
as before. Leah said, “Jimmy and Theresa got into a conflict today, Jimmy laid his hands on Theresa,
your dad is furious.”
Hearing that, Sarah’s eyes widened with disbelief, “Jimmy hit Theresa?”
‘How did that happen? Theresa totally deserved it!’
Leah said, “That Jimmy is a prick, his men even shoved your dad onto the floor today, I was so angry.
Luckily Charlie was there and taught him a lesson, he did not dare to even speak.” Leah respected
Charlie, she felt that there was nothing she was afraid of as long as Charlie was there. After all,
everyone respected his status and
called him Mr. Calsis.
Talking about Charlie, Leah remembered what she wanted to say, looked at Sarah and said, “Charlie
really stood up. Didn’t you say the doctor said he can never stand again? What’s going on?”
Sarah placed her hand on her mother’s forehead and said, “You’re not having a fever, right? How can
Charlie
possibly stand? Don’t lie.”
“Why would I lie?” Leah was speechless. “When have I ever lied to you? He really can stand now. I’ve
always
wondered why Theresa treated that cripple so well and helped him so much, so that’s why.”
