Get down to His Knees?
Charlie sat up, looked at Theresa, and said, “Don’t worry! Eugene will handle it well.”
“I don’t trust him now,” remarked Theresa. “I used to think he was reliable, but last time when I met his
mother, I found him really good to her.”
Charlie comforted, “Don’t worry. Eugene is not a mama’s boy.”
“I hope so,” said Theresa. She glanced at Charlie and asked, “When will you leave?”
Now that Charlie had had dinner with Ben, he had achieved his goal.
Charlie took a look at his watch and said, “I’m leaving now.”
As he was speaking, Jonathan came.
Jonathan was here to pick up Charlie and stood at the door without getting into the living room when he
saw Charlie sitting next to Theresa.
Theresa said, “Go ahead.”
She didn’t feel well today and wanted to have a rest. She didn’t intend to go out anymore.
Charlie looked at Theresa and said, “Ben is having a class now. I’ll come to accompany him after I’m
done with my work.”
Theresa nodded. “Okay. He should feel better now. Don’t worry too much. I’ll tell him you’re busy. It’s
fine if you don’t come.”
Theresa also felt it troublesome to ask him to come here today.
As soon as she finished her sentence, she found Charlie staring at her.
Theresa looked up at him and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Charlie gave a wry smile when he realized that she tried to draw a clear line with him. Clearly, he was
driving him away after using him. But he could only accept it, not daring to say anything to protest.
“Nothing. I’m leaving now.”
After saying that, Charlie stood up and walked out.
When Jonathan saw Charlie come over, he carefully handed a coat to Charlie.
On the way out of Theresa’s residence, Jonathan looked at Charlie and asked, “Mr. Calsis, have up
with Theresa?”
Charlie frowned. “No.”
“You look on good terms with each other.” After looking at them at the door for a long time, Jonathan
thought that Theresa finally forgave Charlie.
Charlie said, “She won’t forgive me anymore.”
With that, he reached out and took some documents from Jonathan.
Jonathan remained seated and looked at Charlie. It seemed that Charlie looked a little sad.
When Rose went out of the hotel, she saw Jimmy in the lobby.
At the sight of him, she pulled a long face and asked, “What are you doing here?”
She had thought that Jimmy would never come to her again.
Never did she expect that he still came.
Rose looked at this man and found herself really disappointed.
She hated him so much, and she was so angry, but she still hoped that he would come to her.
Jimmy looked at her and said, “Are you still angry? I’m here to pick you up. Let’s go home.”
“Do you think I don’t look angry?” Rose asked Jimmy. “I thought you had forgotten me, your wife.”
She even spent Christmas alone.
And they had quarreled for a few days.
Rose looked at Jimmy and said, “Jimmy, I thought you loved me very much, but now I realize that I was
just flattering myself.”
Jimmy looked at her and reached out to hold her hand. “Stop making a scene here. I was just a little
angry that day and said something I shouldn’t have said. I came to pick you up, didn’t I? Rose, you
know how much I love you!”
“I don’t believe you love me!” Rose broke free from his grip and intended to leave. However, when she
was about to leave, Jimmy got down to his knees.
“Honey, I was wrong!”
Rose turned around and saw him kneeling on the ground. He grabbed her hand and apologized to her
with guilt in his eyes, “I’m sorry, honey. I really know I was wrong. Please forgive me!”
It was completely out of Rose’s expectations.
“Oh, my God!” thought she to herself.
