Chapter 116: Goodnight Kiss
Yun Xiangxiang would appear in every picture, but there would also be a silhouette at the edge of those pictures.
Sometimes it was a foot; sometimes it was half a body; sometimes it was a distant back…
None of it was facing the CCTV directly. It was obvious that this person knew the school’s CCTV system like the back of their hand. They could evade it trickily every time.
This person either went out of their way to map out the locations of the CCTV, or they were personnel related to the installation of the CCTV.
“He’s 172 to 175 centimeters tall and weighs sixty to sixty five kilos. A left hander. His left calf was severely fractured before,” Song Mian said to Song Yao. “He has contracted moderate Scheuermann’s disease. Narrow your investigations to the students in the same course as Xiangxiang or those who are frequently absent from classes.”
Song Yao immediately proceeded with his investigation.
Yun Xiangxiang got closer to examine the pictures in detail. They were all incomplete. There wasn’t even half a face. “How did you get all this info?” she asked curiously.
“He might be standing far away in this picture. However, I can make an estimate about his height using your library’s shelves as reference. I am a doctor, I only need a silhouette and his height to guess the range of his weight.”
Song Mian picked a picture and enlarged it for Yun Xiangxiang. He then clicked another.
“He’s in the cafeteria here. There’s only his right half, but he has no plate and no chopsticks. The table is also very clean.”
Song Mian circled the picture again, “His right hand is placed on his thigh leisurely. Only the nondominant hand would display this kind of behavior.”
Yun Xiangxiang subconsciously thought about herself. She seemed to also frequently place her left hand like this subconsciously.
Song Mian then opened a picture where the silhouette was standing slightly nearer. He drew two straight lines on the silhouettes legs, and one straight line on his back.
“His left calf is unaligned. This is the sequelae of bone fracture. Judging by the distance between the neck and the curvature of his spine, it can be concluded that he has moderate Scheuermann’s disease.”
These are the flaws that a doctor could glean from a glance through experience.
“Going by the pictures you took, he should have hung around me frequently. I don’t even have any memory of that.”
He obviously sat in a place not far from her in some pictures. He even brushed against her in some pictures.
“This shows that he has great self control and is adept at camouflage. He doesn’t stand out at all…” Song Mian then analyzed his personality.
“You won’t pay any attention if he looks normal. You would also not be on guard if he does not radiate malicious intent or pay attention to you when he is close to you
“What’s his purpose for doing this?” Yun Xiangxiang was puzzled.
He shouldn’t be so conspicuous and appear within her line of sight so many times if he wanted to do something bad to her. It was too daring. Wouldn’t he worry about her getting her guard up against him?
“On the contrary, he’s trying to get you to let your guard down.”
Song Mian explained after he guessed what Yun Xiangxiang was thinking, “Humans depend on their nervous system to process messages. The sense of smell, hearing, and sight depend the most on it. His multiple attempts on closing the safe distance between him and you is to let your brain judge him as harmless.”
When someone’s aura had desensitized someone else’s nervous system, they could get close quietly and deal a fatal blow when their target was at their most relaxed.
Swift, fierce, and accurate. They didn’t need too much of a cleanup either.
“This wouldn’t be a repeat offender, right…?” Yun Xiangxiang feared for herself when she thought about it. The man was very meticulous, and he knew a lot.
“Not necessarily. We’ll know the results soon,” Song Mian would never jump the gun before anything is confirmed.
“Then I’ll continue my practice. Tell me when you have the results,” Yun Xiangxiang wouldn’t let this kind of matter affect her.
She still had a lingering fear just a second ago, and became fired up in the blink of an eye. It was like what had happened was in the past now, and didn’t leave a mark in her heart.
Song Mian was surprised at her ability of self-regulation and recovery.
“Don’t look at me like that. I can only be so relaxed because I trust my boyfriend,” Yun Xiangxiang smiled at Song Mian and waved at him before going back to her home.
Song Qian had prepared everything for Yun Xiangxiang. Even though she could take the pain after training for so long, Yun Xiangxiang still didn’t want to move after practice. Even so, she still wanted to know the results, as she still needed to go to school the next morning.
Song Mian actually had the results of the investigation already. He was waiting for her to finish practice before telling her.
“This is my room!” Yun Xiangxiang was planning to pass the wait with some reading when she saw Song Mian waltzing into her room.
“Girlfriend has slept in my room, but she doesn’t even let me into hers.”
Song Mian, a man that stood at the top. A man as noble and elegant as im was talking to her so dejectedly. Pairing that with his forlorn expression really made someone feel guilty even if they admonished him just a little.
Yun Xiangxiang sat up lazily and hugged a pillow, “Spill it, and finish it fast. I still need to sleep.”
Song Mian sat at the side of the bed, “I have already sent the guy to the police station. Your school will receive the notification shortly.”
“What did he do?” Yun Xiangxiang was concerned when it came to the school’s reputation.
“He’s suffering from a severe psychological condition. I suggest that he quit school to receive treatment,” Song Mian explained everything from the beginning.
This man was Yun Xiangxiang’s third year senior in the same course. He got addicted to criminal themed online games sometime ago. That led to him getting hooked on books related to criminal psychology.
After that, stories and videos already couldn’t sate his desire. He was looking for bigger thrills.
He thought that getting his hands on Yun Xiangxiang would be more exhilarating, as her fame in school matched the criteria of his desired victim for the crime he was going to commit.
“Those who can enter Qingdao University are either very hardworking or intelligent,” Yun Xiangxiang sighed.
It was a shame that he fell from grace because of bad games and books.
“He has no records. He also failed to carry out the crime this time. The evidence for his plan to kidnap you is more than enough, but he won’t be punished too severely.”
They would have to stay put and wait for him to make a move if they wanted him to be punished severely. However, that would be willfully putting Yun Xiangxiang in danger.
He did have preparations in place to make sure that nothing would go wrong. However, Yun Xiangxiang was a public figure. Negative news about her would spread, one way or another.
He didn’t want her to suffer.
“I’ll have some men keeping an eye on him. If he repents because of his failure to commit his first plan, I will let it slide.”
However, if he was still obsessed and went from bad to worse, it would be too easy for him to have someone spend the rest of their life in jail.
“I’m not afraid of anything with you here,” Yun Xiangxiang smiled sweetly before asking him to leave. “Thank you, boyfriend. I need to rest now.”
“Girlfriend’s gratitude is really simple,” Song Mian supported himself by placing his hands at Yun Xiangxiang’s sides and lowered his body to inch closer to her.
Yun Xiangxiang glared at him with false fury before moving her head up to kiss him, “Goodnight kiss!”
