Chapter 276: My Beloved
Since Song Mian refused to take her to Sun City, it must be unsuitable for her. Yun Xiangxiang followed his arrangements.
On the fourth day here, Song Mian brought Yun Xiangxiang shopping. She wanted to get some souvenirs for her friends, as she would be flying back the next day. The finals were approaching. She would have to revise all the essential points her lecturer told her when she got back.
When it came to El Dorado, anyone would relate it to gold and diamonds. But those were not things anyone could take.
Take Song Meng and Tao Manni and the girls. Giving them these would pressurize them, making them feel the gap of wealth between them. Yun Xiangxiang bought some anti-cancer tea and natural anti-aging essential oils for her parents.
These were also items exclusive to South Africa. Some of the top ones wouldn’t even be sold to foreigners. But now she could buy them thanks to Song Mian.
She chose some food products for her friends, such as the special chocolate here. There were also some ostrich egg crafts which she bought.
She chose a diamond bracelet for Li Man. Yun Xiangxiang had been looking for a chance to repay Li Man’s gift of the keychain to her.
She picked red wine for Lu Jin and the gang.
She picked the indigenous wood carving for Xue Yu and He Wei. It only had sentimental value.
“Luckily, I have you. Or else I couldn’t bring back so many things with me,” Yun Xiangxiang lamented when she saw the backseat and the bonnet of the car being stuffed by the things she bought. “So this is one of the perks of being rich.
If it were not for Song Mian’s private jet, the things she bought would be confiscated by customs.
“Solving his girlfriend’s problems is a boyfriend’s job,” Song Mian opened the car door for Yun Xiangxiang.
Yun Xiangxiang smiled. She looked at him with her sparkling eyes before going into the car.
“The diamonds here are a lot cheaper than those in China. It would mess things up back there if the customs don’t do their job well.” Yun Xiangxiang looked at the diamond necklace she picked for Li Man. “Sister Man is crazy for diamonds. Luckily she didn’t come here, or she would go on a shopping spree.”
Li Man’s love for diamonds was known to everyone. Any event she went to, she would be adorned with jewelry made out of diamonds. She even spent a lot of money once for a rare diamond ring.
“You don’t like diamonds?” Song Mian was driving. When he remembered her giving “The Star of Peace” away so easily, he asked again, “Then what do you like?”
“I’m not obsessed with jewelry,” Yun Xiangxiang mulled it over.
She wasn’t obsessed with any other precious stones either. She never wore them as jewelry, and only did it when she needed to attend events.
“What about bags? Clothes? Skincare products? Shoes?” Song Mian asked about the things women usually loved.
Yun Xiangxiang still shook her head. She looked at Song Mian, “Am I hard to please?”
Gifts alone would give Song Mian a headache with a girlfriend like Yun Xiangxiang.
“On the contrary, you’re too easy to please.” Song Mian smiled, “You should have something you like.”
“Great food,” Yun Xiangxiang’s eyes lit up. That was her answer. “I can’t resist good food.”
That was her past life’s regret. She starved before she was twenty. She couldn’t bear to eat great food. They were too expensive for her.
When she started having money after she was twenty, she would sleep in her workplace. She was busy. To save time, she would wolf down anything, not bothering to check out the taste.
When she wasn’t as busy anymore, her stomach acted up. She could only choose from a limited selection so she wouldn’t kill herself. She also had to keep her body in shape.
“Okay then, I’ll learn how to cook all the best food in the world when I have time. I’ll try my best to let you taste the world before I die,” Song Mian smiled.
Yun Xiangxiang tilted her head. Her smile extended to her eyes. She looked at Song Mian lovingly, “My boyfriend is the best in the world.”
“My girlfriend is the world’s prettiest.” Song Mian took a detour.
“Where are we going?” They were on this road twice, so Yun Xiangxiang remembered it.
“To see a patient of mine. It’s been a long time since his last follow up.” Song Mian smiled at Yun Xiangxiang. “They have the best chef around here.”
Yun Xiangxiang knew they were going to see a bigshot who could make a great chef into their personal chef.
“So, are you going there for a follow-up, or are you taking me there for food?” Yun Xiangxiang was doubtful.
“Is there a difference?” Song Mian asked.
Yun Xiangxiang thought about it. No, she thought. There was no difference. They would eat there in the end.
It was a magnificent place. There were armed guards outside the iron gate. It was like the military.
The car drove for another ten minutes after they entered the iron gate before they saw a beautiful house. A tall, plump, black man was waiting at the door with some people.
When the car stopped, someone opened the door for them. After Yun Xiangxiang and Song Mian had disembarked, the man extended his hand warmly. The earnest smile on his face said he was happy.
“You’re finally here, King. I can’t tell you how delighted I am.” The man talked in fluent English. He didn’t sound formal.
“Oh, how I miss your sausages here,” Song Mian was humorous.
“Excellent. I have prepared the best of them for you.” The man seemed to be on good terms with Song Mian. He looked at Yun Xiangxiang. “Aren’t you going to introduce this lovely lady to me?”
“She’s my beloved.” That was how Song Mian introduced Yun Xiangxiang to everyone. “Yun.”
Yun Xiangxiang blushed. The man had already extended his hand. “Ah, Yun. Such a beautiful name. I am Bhamra.”
The man didn’t say his full name. Instead, he warmly told her his given name. He probably understood Chinese customs.
“Hello,” Yun Xiangxiang shook Bhamra’s hand politely.
Bhamra entertained them. Yun Xiangxiang could only describe the house’s interior as resplendent. Out of courtesy, she didn’t run around.
Soon after, someone served them tea and snacks. The snacks looked delicate. There were also fresh fruits there.
“I need to give your beloved a gift to commemorate our first meeting,” Bhamra suddenly said. He nodded to a guy who looked like a butler.
Soon after, these people came over with some photo albums and handed it to Yun Xiangxiang respectfully.
“Take everything you like, Yun,” Bhamra was generous.
Yun Xiangxiang opened the album curiously. What was inside shocked her! They were all photos of diamonds. The first photo was that of a yellow diamond. Besides, it was a detailed introduction, such as its weight, its grade, when it was mined…
She thought Bhamra was giving her an album. But every page of it were pictures of diamonds.
Does this guy own a diamond mine?
