Chapter 176: Dignity of the Prodigy
Yun Xiangxiang disliked any color that stood out for her car. Her first choices would be silver and black.
Yun Xiangxiang did not research this model before. She would just take it here and ask the company to send it to China if the silver ones were great.
Naturally, they had their own shortcuts that could do away with most of the hassle. The remaining procedures would be done in China.
She just completed her homework. It was boring to stay in the hotel. “Where’s Brother Wei?”
As they passed He Wei’s room, Yun Xiangxiang knocked on it. To her astonishment, nobody was there.
“He went out after making a phone call. Probably for your endorsement,” Lu Jin knew a bit about it.
Agents did not have it easier than actors. He Wei did not tell her to save her the disappointment.
Yun Xiangxiang sent He Wei a message before bringing Song Qian and Ai Li along with her.
The company’s head office was naturally gigantic. There were luxury cars as far as the eye could see. Yun Xiangxiang saw the model Lu Jin gave her.
It was sleek, stylish, and had turbofan rims. The car was elegant.
There were only four varieties of color for this model. All of them just happened to be there. Even though they had the classic black, Yun Xiangxiang fell in love with the silver model at first sight.
“I’ll talk to them about it,” Lu Jin turned around to look for the person in charge.
Since Lu Jin was unsure whether Yun Xiangxiang would choose the silver model, he did not call the upper management over. That complicated the transaction. The person in charge had to call them for verification.
Lu Jin and the person in charge went to the office. Yun Xiangxiang continued to look at the cars with a staff member by her side. She rejected smilingly every time the staff asked her to try the car out.
“Miss Yun,” a familiar voice called her from behind as she looked at the cars.
The owner of the voice was already standing before her with his sunglasses down when she turned around.
He stood at 1.90 meters tall. Without the formal tuxedo when they last met, his T-shirt and jeans give off a casual vibe. Even so, his presence still felt ominous.
“Mr. Lucifer.” As the man spoke in standard Mandarin, Yun Xiangxiang naturally replied in Mandarin.
Lucifer glanced at the space behind her, seemingly looking for Song Mian. “I did not expect to bump into you here, Miss Yun. You came to Milan for?”
“Work,” Yun Xiangxiang answered curtly. She did not want to chat with Lucifer. “Mr. Lucifer, you’re here to purchase a car, right? I better not disturb you.”
Having said that, Yun Xiangxiang walked around Lucifer to get past him. To everyone’s surprise, Lucifer blocked her way.
Ai Li and Song Qian who were behind her tried to lunge forward, but Yun Xiangxiang stopped them. “What are you doing, Mr. Lucifer?”
“I want to apologize for Doris’ offense to you last time, but I didn’t really have the chance. Can Miss Yun give me the chance today?” Lucifer requested in a roundabout way, but his presence was still ominous.
Yun Xiangxiang raised her head to look at Lucifer seriously. Her eyes met his deep blue ones.
There was tension between the two of them. The staff wanted to mediate, but was taken away by Lucifer’s men.
Yun Xiangxiang smirked when she saw that, “Mr. Lucifer, I have always thought that you were a prodigy.”
Lucifer looked at Yun Xiangxiang with puzzled eyes.
“The pride of someone who was born a noble will never allow him to spread the fire of war between men to a woman who is weaker than him.”
Lucifer chuckled as Yun Xiangxiang said that. Yun Xiangxiang might dislike Lucifer, but she must admit that it should be illegal to be as handsome as he was.
He nodded and gave way to her, “Do you know, Miss Yun? You are a charming woman for men.”
Yun Xiangxiang who was beside Lucifer stopped in her tracks. Turning her head aside, she looked at him calmly, “I am sorry, Mr. Lucifer. You are not the man who can charm me.”
“So?” Lucifer raised his eyebrow.
“So, don’t try to do anything to me. I am not a woman you can trifle with,” Yun Xiangxiang warned him.
Without giving another chance for Lucifer to speak, Yun Xiangxiang walked away steadily. She knew Lucifer was pressurizing her.
Even though her looks were decent, Lucifer had seen all kinds of beauties.
On top of that, she could not glean even a trace of emotion in Lucifer’s eyes. He found trouble with her just because she was Song Mian’s girlfriend.
Yun Xiangxiang knew Lucifer and Song Mian were not ordinary enemies through their conversation during the charity banquet.
Luck decided to send a drizzle her way for her to bump into Lucifer here. That man was evil.
She managed to make him retreat with the rhetoric of a man’s pride. That was not something she could do often.
Song Mian introduced her as his fiance during their last encounter. Lucifer should not have the guts to go against her so brazenly.
Lucifer’s appearance spoiled her mood for the day. She lost interest in going shopping.
Yun Xiangxiang immediately called Song Mian when she returned to the hotel. She was worried Song Mian might be busy, but the call made it through, much to her astonishment.
“Hello,” Song Mian was not the one who picked up the call. It was Song Mian’s friend, Savage.
She heard his voice before. Song Mian told her he was called Qi Jun.
“Why is Ah Mian’s phone on your hands?” Yun Xiangxiang asked worriedly.
Yun Xiangxiang’s voice stunned Qi Jun for an instant. He immediately reacted, “Oh, sister-in-law, it’s you. Mianmian… Song Mian went into the cave. I am right above it. His phone is in his shirt.”
Yun Xiangxiang heaved a sigh of relief, “Is he alright?”
“He’s fine. Just that he noticed some special soil. We are getting ready to research it,” Qi Jun sounded relaxed.
“That’s fine then. Ask him to call me when he’s free,” Yun Xiangxiang did not know Qi Jun. It would be awkward to talk to him.
“Ai ai ai, sister-in-law. If you want to burn the bridge, at least wait until you’re at the other side of the river. You’re now burning it even before crossing to the other side,” Qi Jun hurriedly stopped Yun Xiangxiang from hanging up.
Yun Xiangxiang felt awkward, “What do you want from me then?”
“Sister-in-law, that’s such a hurtful thing to say. Mian… Song Mian and I grew up together. We keep no secrets between us. You are his girlfriend. That makes us a family. All this talk about benefits with family hurts so much.”
The depression Yun Xiangxiang felt because of Lucifer evaporated. Qi Jun was a meaningful name, but its owner was not just an illiterate, he was also a talkaholic.
When Song Mian told her about Qi Jun’s identity as an adventurer, Yun Xiangxiang imagined a reticent warrior that backed down from no challenges in her mind.
Her fantasy was destroyed quickly.
“Then what do I have to do to have you send my message to him?” Yun Xiangxiang asked indirectly.
“Sister-in-law. Let’s add each other on WeChat, and you send a picture to me. I don’t even know what you look like.”
Song Mian did not even tell him her name. He was in the dark about kind of person Song Mian’s girlfriend was, someone who could even change a cold-blooded animal like him into a fool in love. He tortured himself just to celebrate her birthday.
“You add me on it. My We…”
“Ouch!”
“What’s going on there?”
“I kicked him down,” Song Mian replied.
