Chapter 117: Breakfast, with Love
Song Mian’s mesmerizing, purplish-black eyes peered at Yun Xiangxiang silently.
He inched closer to her as she retreated instinctively until the back of her head touched the head of her bed.
His unique scent found its way into Yun Xiangxiang’s nose, making her heart jump erratically.
A huge shadow covered her. Yun Xiangxiang promptly closed her eyes. A pair of soft lips brushed against her cheeks.
When she opened her eyes, Song Mian was right in front of her. A smile was etched across his face, and starlight radiated from his eyes.
“Sweet dreams, my girlfriend.”
The gentle, baritone, and hypnotic voice still lingered in Yun Xiangxiang’s ears even when Song Mian had left the room.
She suddenly felt that her face was getting hot. Yun Xiangxiang pulled her blanket over her head, and it was only after a while before she could poke her head out of it.
She patted her face before closing her eyes and going to sleep.
Her circadian clock woke her up as usual the next day. Wang Yong had arrived and started making breakfast when she was still practicing.
She had said that she wanted to bring some breakfast for her friends. Wang Yong made the necessary preparations for that.
Someone rang the doorbell after Yun Xiangxiang showered and changed into new clothes after her practice. The one who rang it was actually Song Yao.
“Miss Yun, the young master made breakfast for you,” Song Yao gave way to her respectfully.
“He got up so early!” Yun Xiangxiang frowned and immediately took the lift to go up.
Song Mian was wearing a beige-colored casual wear and was walking around in slippers. He was setting the table in the dining hall.
He turned around and saw Yun Xiangxiang once he heard the sound, “Come, have breakfast.”
Yun Xiangxiang took a closer look and found out that the dishes filled the table completely. The variety was large, but each and every one of them was little in portion.
“It’s only six now. When did you get up to make so much stuff? Don’t you need any rest?”
Song Mian smiled attractively when he received his girlfriend’s concern in the form of reproach. “My circadian clock wakes me up at four,” he said.
“The sun’s rising from the west if I am to believe that,” Yun Xiangxiang retorted after she sat down.
“I told you that I won’t lie to you,” Song Mian sat down too. He filled a bowl with porridge for Yun Xiangxiang, “I slept at eleven and woke up at four since I was twelve.”
Yun Xiangxiang suddenly thought about her previous life. She had only entered Huan Yu Century Entertainment then. She didn’t have anything else besides her pretty face.
That was her only chance to prove herself and live with dignity.
She worked herself to the bone to learn in order to not be left behind and discarded by the company.
She only slept for about four to five hours a day for about a whole year before the company saw her improve.
Nobody was born with greatness. Some might be inherently smarter than others, but not even a genius could withstand slothfulness.
Song Mian was different from her. He had a lot of great members in the family he was born into.
If he wasn’t great enough to make them look up to him, he wouldn’t be able to look at them as a king and unify them.
“Why did you make so much?” Yun Xiangxiang only saw such a lavish breakfast in hotels.
She didn’t want to continue the previous topic, so she took a pair of chopsticks. There were so many dishes, she didn’t know where to start.
“Breakfast is the most important meal out of the three meals in a day,” He placed the bowl of porridge in front of Yun Xiangxiang. “Drink this first.”
“It smells nice. There’s oats in it,” Yun Xiangxiang took a whiff of it and ladled it with a spoon.
The porridge was thick but not pasty; smooth but not sticky. There wasn’t any flavor of sweetness or saltiness. There was only a rich fragrance.
“Oatmeal porridge,” Song Mian sat beside Yun Xiangxiang. He waited for her to take a few sips out of the porridge before taking a roll and placing it on her plate. “Egg and vegetable roll.”
It was a minuscule piece of golden roll made of eggs. There were three layers of vegetables in it: lettuce, tomato, and carrot.
It was followed by a milk-flavored bun, then a small piece of wholewheat pancake, and another small piece of yam and red date cake with longan…
Finally, a glass of corn milk.
Yun Xiangxiang just managed to fill herself after she finished. She didn’t feel stuffed at all.
“It’s too delicate. It’s too troublesome…” Even though she had a satisfying meal, Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want Song Mian to go through this kind of trouble.
“I can’t be by your side every day. However, I want to take care of you like this whenever I can be by your side,” Song Mian had also finished eating. “You don’t have to do anything. Just give me a chance to perform.”
Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t resist the urge to lean her body to kiss Song Mian’s face, “Spoil me then. You’ll regret it someday.”
“I only hope that my act of pampering can make you feel emboldened for life.”
Even Yun Xiangxiang felt sappy when she heard that lover’s prattle so early in the morning. She glanced at her watch and ran away instantly, “I’ll have to go to school now, or else I’ll be late.”
Their first lecture would start at eight. It was already seven thirty when Yun Xiangxiang reached school. The three sleepyheads were really still snoozing in their beds.
She put their breakfast down and dragged everyone out of their beds. Yun Xiangxiang opened the boxes containing their breakfast when she saw their sleepy eyes.
The breakfast made by Wang Yong might not be as detailed and nutritious as Song Mian’s, but it was still aromatic, delicious, and nice to look at.
The three foodies who were dragging their feet immediately scrambled to the bathroom.
The feeling of being watched by someone else really disappeared from that day onwards. Tao Manni and the others didn’t know that one person was missing from the campus.
Everyone else probably didn’t know either. Except for that person’s roommates, the teachers, and the school leaders.
It was fine like that. No other students would fear for their safety that way. Yun Xiangxiang also pretended that she knew nothing about it.
She called her parents as usual after a day’s worth of class and reported to them about Yun Lin’s recent development.
Song Mian and Song Qian picked her up together unsurprisingly, “Shall I take you out for a spin during the holidays?”
“Sorry, boyfriend,” She also really wanted to go out and play with Song Mian. “I have an appointment with a director tomorrow regarding the new script.”
“It’s okay. We have a lifetime together to spend,” Song Mian was very understanding, and he also flirted with her again.
“Let’s see what happens the day after tomorrow. I’ll accompany you to visit Mr Song if I have time by then,” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t want to continue Song Mian’s flirt.
“You’ll call the shots,” Song Mian was very easy to negotiate with.
Naturally, Song Mian would be responsible for making Yun Xiangxiang’s dinner. Her phone rang when she was helping Song Mian with something.
The callers were Song Meng and Li Xiangling, “It’s the semester break now, Xiangxiang. Xiangling and I want to invite you out to play around.”
The three of them didn’t gather around since school started.
“I have to meet with a director tomorrow,” Yun Xiangxiang replied regretfully.
“Oh no…,” Song Meng was crestfallen. “Then what about the day after tomorrow?” She asked dejectedly.
“The day after tomorrow…,” Yun Xiangxiang glanced at Song Mian. “I have to accompany my boyfriend on that day.”
“!!!”
Song Meng who was stunned asked tentatively, “What did you say, Xiangxiang? What do you want to do the day after tomorrow?”
“We promised that we must not hide it from each other if we have a boyfriend,” Yun Xiangxiang declared formally. “I am telling both of you right now that I am already taken. I have a boyfriend now. I will let you meet each other when I have time.”
The three girls promised that they have to make an announcement if they had a boyfriend, so they wouldn’t fall in love with the same person at the same time.
