Chapter 147: Torturing Singles on the First Day of New Year

Yun Xiangxiang’s mind exploded like the countless fireworks last night. They were beautiful, but she couldn’t capture any coherent thought.

She slowly extended her hand and hooked onto Song Mian’s shoulder from behind. She quietly embraced his warmth and listened to his heartbeat.

“Sister…” Yun Lin’s drawling voice suddenly appeared.

Yun Xiangxiang immediately escaped from Song Mian’s embrace and turned around in horror. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that only Yun Lin was leaning on the railing, “Why did you come out?”

“I’m also doing my morning practice,”Yun Lin cocked his little face. “Let me tell you a secret. Dad’s already awake when I came out.”

“Your elder sister got that,” Yun Xiangxiang stepped forward and kneaded Yun Lin’s head from the other side of the railing. She quickly ran to Song Mian and ran away with his hand in her hand before Yun Lin could feel upset.

Yun Lin worked with his hair that was messed up by his sister for a while before he managed to style them back. Someone patted his shoulder, “Where’s your sister?”

It turned out that the father and son agreed to accompany Yun Xiangxiang in her morning practice. They planned to train their own bodies for the next few days.

It was fortunate that Yun Ting woke up when he was about to go out today. Yun Lin got there one step earlier because he was worried that his brother would cling onto him and refuse to let go. Only then, he saw…

“I didn’t see my older sister when I came here,” Yun Lin put his hands in his pockets. He didn’t feel guilty at all.

“Probably at the lakeside. Your older sister likes to go there the most,” Yun Zhibin patted his son’s shoulder. “Come, let’s give chase to her.

Yun Xiangxiang really liked to do her morning runs at the lakeside when she was at home. There were a lot of elderlies who woke up early to train there who knew her. She wouldn’t expose herself by bringing Song Mian there.

“Did you hurry here throughout the night? Are you tired?” Yun Xiangxiang held Song Mian’s hand and asked.

“I’m not tired,” Song Mian slowed his steps. His eyes were bright and clear. There really wasn’t any sleepiness in them.

Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t help recalling her first time in New York City on the day when they officially got together. Song Mian had the same eyes, but he still could fall asleep the moment he laid in bed.

She rolled her eyes and dragged him to a hotel. Song Mian pulled Yun Xiangxiang before they entered the hotel, “Does girlfriend want to get a room with me [1]?”

“Slap!” Yun Xiangxiang slapped his shoulder angrily. “I want you to get some sleep. I’ll come find you later!”

“I don’t have to go to a hotel to get some sleep,” Song Mian took Yun Xiangxiang to a place where they could hail a ride. “I have a house here too.”

Yun Xiangxiang: …

There were also cars on the first day of the Lunar New Year. However, they were scarce during this hour. She turned her head aside and asked Song Mian, “Is it far?”

“Quanzhou City,” Song Mian announced the place.

It would take at least an hour and a half on foot to arrive. Yun Xiangxiang was wearing some light attire since she was going for some morning practice. It would delay Song Mian from getting some sleep if they walked there.

“Do you know how to ride a bicycle?” Yun Xiangxiang felt that it would be more appropriate if she asked first.

“I do. I like riding sports when I’m overseas,” Song Mian nodded.

“Give me your phone,” Yun Xiangxiang stretched her hand to Song Mian. She didn’t bring anything out with her.

Song Mian gave his phone to Yun Xiangxiang. Yun Xiangxiang called a number. It rang for a few times before it was picked up.

Song Mian’s sleepy voice said, “Who’s this? Why can’t you let me sleep on the first day of the Lunar New Year?”

“Only you would sleep in on the first day of the Lunar New Year,” Yun Xiangxiang retorted.

Song Meng sobered up immediately and looked at the caller ID. It was a stranger’s number, “Xiangxiang, why is it a stranger’s number?”

“Don’t worry about it. I’m at the outside of your house. Take your bicycle out for me. I want the one with a passenger seat.”

“What do you want to do with it?” Song Meng felt curious. She went to look outside her window and saw no one.

“Don’t ask any questions. Do it right now.” Yun Xiangxiang hung up after she finished saying that. She gave the phone back to Song Mian, “Give me three minutes.”

Yun Xiangxiang ran to Song Meng’s house after she said that. This was the teacher’s office in the school’s old wing. Yun Zhibin and his family had moved to the school’s new wing.

Song Mian’s phone rang again after Yun Xiangxiang had just left. He hesitated for a while before accepting the call.

Song Meng’s voice came from the other end of the phone, “Xiangxiang, I got a new one. It has a passenger seat too. What do you want it for? I’ll give you the new one if you’re not carrying anything smelly.”

“She probably wants to carry a passenger,” Song Mian replied.

Song Meng was instantly petrified. This voice just sounds too good. She clasped her hand over her mouth in an attempt to stop herself from screaming.

Calm down, calm down. This is a man’s voice. Also, this voice sounds a bit familiar.

Wasn’t this the voice of Xiangxiang’s boyfriend whom she heard a few days ago?!

“She should be at your house soon,” Song Mian spoke after he didn’t hear Song Meng’s reply for a while and was still on the phone.

“Ah…, Xiangxiang’s boyfriend!” Song Meng screamed. “I…”

“Bang!” Song Meng’s window was hit by a pebble just as she was trying to say something. Yun Xiangxiang came to look for her this way when she was little.

She saw Yun Xiangxiang, sure enough. She couldn’t really say anything and hung up before grabbing her keys and ran out.

She was in her pajamas and was wearing a pair of fluffy slippers. Her hair was like a bird’s nest. Song Meng flung herself into Yun Xiangxiang’s embrace, “Your boyfriend, your boyfriend. You actually came to torture this single lady on the first day of New Year!”

“You called back?” Yun Xiangxiang immediately pushed Song Meng away. “Give me the bicycle.”

“I want to see your boyfriend!” Song Meng tugged Yun Xiangxiang tightly. “His voice sounded so nice. He must be a very handsome man!”

“You sure you want to see my boyfriend like this?” Yun Xiangxiang pointed at her.

Song Meng only became conscious of her appearance then. She turned around and tried to dash into her house, only to get tugged by Yun Xiangxiang. “Give me the bicycle!”

“You hiberdating woman!” Song Meng was furious, but she couldn’t let Yun Xiangxiang’s boyfriend wait for her to change her clothes and wash up. “I’ll make sure to butcher you two on the day of the official meetup.”

Yun Xiangxiang who successfully got the bicycle couldn’t bother with Song Meng. She pushed it forward and started riding it skilfully. She disappeared from Song Meng’s line of sight in a flash.

“I saw your dad just now,” Song Mian said to Yun Xiangxiang smilingly after Yun Xiangxiang stopped the bicycle in front of him.

“How did you know that he was my dad?” Yun Xiangxiang was perplexed.

“He ran there with your brother just now,” Song Meng turned his face to the direction where they went.

“Quick. We have to leave here quickly,” Yun Xiangxiang patted the pillion.

“I’m sitting?” He thought that Yun Xiangxiang would be the passenger when she asked him whether he knew how to ride earlier.

Song Mian couldn’t let Yun Xiangxiang force herself when he faced Yun Xiangxiang’s reassuring smile. He pulled her down and rode the bicycle himself.

Yun Xiangxiang didn’t dilly-dally. She mounted the pillion and sat sideways. Her hands wrapped around his waist naturally. “Go straight and turn right in front…”

The rays of sunlight graced the land bit by bit. The bicycle moved forward steadily on the quiet path. The young lady leant intimately on the man’s reliable back.

The man’s eyes were deep. The woman’s long hair danced with the wind. The breeze of dawn whispered gently.

However, there were scarcely anyone on the streets on the morning of the first day of New Year. That meant nobody was able to witness such a sweet and warm scene.
