President’s Twins: Buy One, Get One Free Chapter 110: Not Giving Her A Chance To Explain

“Little Noah has a sensitive gastric and could not eat those unhygienic foods. Ms. Downey, how could

you be so irresponsible? How am I going to answer to young master?”

Hayden didn’t try to explain herself to Mark’s reproach but she felt very remorseful and said, “Rest

assured that I will apologize personally to Mr. Beckham that it was my negligence.”

When Mark saw her remorseful expression, he didn’t know what to say next. He heaved a long sigh

and went to the side to make a call to Joseph.

The doctor at the emergency ward arranged for Noah to be admitted for further observations to

ascertain if it was just stomach upset because of eating some unhygienic food or due to some other

medical conditions. Noah’s condition had improved considerably after an injection and had fallen

asleep.

Hayden remained at the hospital to look after Noah. She kept blaming herself as she continued to look

at him while he was fast asleep. She didn’t spend much time with him and yet something like this

happened. She was an incompetent mother. Would Noah blame her one day when he found out that

she was his biological mother?

She didn’t sleep for the night and she went home before the day broke and made breakfast. She made

sure that Stella ate her breakfast and filled the thermos with breakfast before heading back to the

hospital.

Just as she was about to enter the patient’s room, she heard a familiar voice coming from the room.

Hayden paused as she opened the door and her grip tightened.

“I dropped whatever I was doing and rushed over as soon as I heard that Noah was hospitalized. I

even brought breakfast for Noah. I oversaw the making of the breakfast by my maid and I can

guarantee that there aren’t any unhygienic things in it.” Viola said with a tone that could cause anyone’s

goosebumps to rise.

Joseph calmly answered, “Thanks for your concern.”

“Come, Noah, I’ll feed you.”

She could see clearly from the door that Joseph and Viola sat on either side of Noah. Viola held onto a

bowl of porridge and was caringly feeding Noah. Hayden paused at the door and felt empty within her.

She then turned and left.

In the room, Noah reluctantly took two mouthfuls of the porridge and then started to shake his head.

Viola glanced at Joseph from the corner of her eyes and said, “Your stomach must still be unwell. I’ll

leave it here first. Let me know when you are hungry and I will feed you.”

Noah’s shoulders drooped as he was apprehensive of her. His little hand emerged from under the

blanket to tug at Joseph’s sleeve.

Joseph grabbed his hand and asked, “What’s the matter? Are you still feeling unwell?”

Noah shook his head and looked towards the door.

“She didn’t come.” Joseph knew what he was thinking and frowned as he answered.

It was debatable whether it was food poisoning. But when he came in the morning, he saw Noah

looking weak as he laid on the bed by himself. Joseph became angry when he saw that there wasn’t

someone accompanying Noah.

Hayden didn’t give birth to Noah and that was why she could treat him so haphazardly. If it was her

daughter who was on the hospital bed, he was sure she would not be an inch apart from her daughter.

How could she leave such a small kid alone at the hospital?

As he was pondering, Viola said, “I heard that last night Hayden brought little Noah to the night market

to eat. Those places are very dirty and unhygienic. How could she bring a kid to eat at that kind of

place?”

Joseph heard Mark mention this but he got even more frustrated when he heard it again. His frown

clearly revealed his disdain for this incident.

As soon as Noah saw his expression, he quickly wrote on the drawing board, “It wasn’t Hayden who

brought me there. The place where we ate was chosen by Benjamin.”

He wanted to help Hayden get out of trouble but he caused more trouble for her instead. When Joseph

saw the word ‘Benjamin’, it stung his eyes and caused his expression to darken immediately.

Viola was observing on one side and rejoiced when she saw Joseph’s reaction. Her eyes scanned

around and fell upon Noah with a sinister look. If she wanted to get Joseph back with her, she would

have to work on this little one beside her. Only in front of this little imp would Joseph be particularly

attentive.

Joseph spent a little more time with Noah before he looked at the time and instructed Noah to rest well.

When Viola kept assuring him that she would take care of Noah, he finally stood up and left.

As he left the patient’s room, he saw a familiar figure who looked particularly haggard sitting on the

sofa along the corridor. Hayden quickly stood up and felt very uneasy when she saw him come out of

the room.

Joseph frowned as he sounded cold and distant, “When did you come?”

“Just.” Hayden was holding onto a thermos and said, “I wanted to bring Noah some breakfast but saw

that you were inside and didn’t want to interrupt. Has Noah eaten his breakfast?”

Joseph glanced at the thermos in her hands and answered coldly, “Yes.”

“I apologize profusely for what happened to Noah.” Hayden lowered her head and didn’t dare to look

into Joseph’s eyes as she said softly, “But I will take good care of him until he recovers. I had taken

leave from the company.”

But the more she apologized, the more it gave Joseph the impression that she felt guilty for what she

had done. Even when the truth of the matter had not been established, Joseph already became angry

and said, “No need. You are so busy recently having to take care of your daughter and some people

who came back from who knows where. You won’t have the mind to take good care of Noah.

Furthermore, Noah already has someone to take care of him.”

Hayden clenched her fists and raised her head as she wanted to say something else but saw that

Joseph had already walked away. He practically didn’t give her a chance to explain herself.

What caused her to be even more lost was she realized that she had nothing to justify herself.

Noah was hospitalized because of her and she could understand that Joseph was angry with her

because even she was upset with herself. Noah had a sheltered and privileged life growing up with

Joseph. How could she have been so foolish to bring him to eat at a roadside food stall?

On the other end, Viola was in the patient room looking after Noah and heard the conversation clearly.

“Thud, thud, thud.” someone knocked on the door.

“Come in.” Before the door opened, Viola put on sunglasses and a face mask to avoid any trouble.

“Where’s the patient’s family?” The doctor opened the door, looked around, and asked Viola when he

didn’t see Joseph.

“He just left. What’s the matter?” Viola asked. The mask covered her face and muffled her voice.

The doctor didn’t recognize her and said nonchalantly, “The tests are out. This little boy did not have

food poisoning. It was a viral reaction due to his fever that brought about his vomiting and diarrhea. He

may be discharged in the afternoon.”

Viola frowned and clenched her fists when she heard this but she pretended to be relieved, “Oh that’s

good news. I’ll tell his father this. Thanks, doctor.”

“No worries.” The doctor smiled and left the room.

Only Noah’s eyes emerged from the blanket and he cowered even more as Viola leaned closer to

him.
