Hayden was standing at the door for a while and then she covered him with a warm carpet from the
sofa.
“Hayden…” Joseph opened his eyes, looking a little confused.
After knowing the girl in front of him was Hayden, he sat up and checked the time by his watch. “It’s so
early. Didn’t you sleep well last night?”
Hayden nodded, “No, I just had too much Japanese cuisine.”
He held her hands firmly and said unpleasantly,
“Your hands are so cold. You should have more clothes.”
“It’s fine. Our offices here are warm.”
“But it’s cold outside.” Then he seemed to think of something and loosed her hands to find a hot-water
bag from a drawer. He pressed the button of it and gave it to Hayden.
“Hold that, and you will be warm later.”
Hayden took it over and she felt much warmer gradually. Examining the pattern on the blue bag, she
asked, “You bought this?”
Joseph was calm, “It’s from my assistant. She gave it to me as Noah’s Christmas gift.”
In the past, Noah and Stella came to the company and the one who took care of them was an intern
who was a girl at her twenties and later became Joseph’s secretary.
Hearing his answer, Hayden directed a meaningful look at Joseph, “But you know, her target is you.”
The girl must want to have more connections with Joseph by sending the so-called Christmas gift.
After the gift, she could continue to ask whether Noah liked it or not and gave another present such as
a hat or a scarf with the same pattern.

“It’s time to work now.” Hayden looked at the watch, “There’s a meeting of the board of directors.”
“Another meeting again?” Joseph frowned, “First, I think it’s difficult to have a meeting with all the
directors present; second, there’s no use to negotiate with them on every problem which appeared
recently in the company.”

“This meeting was arranged by Belinda.”

“Hayden, we know that there’re more and more relatives or friends of you in the company. What are
you planning?” Belinda suddenly stood up, staring at Hayden maliciously.
“After you became the new boss, you have sacked so many staffs and even my two cousins were sent
away to other branches. Are you going to empty the whole company before my aunt is back?”
In front of the board, Belinda dared to give that speech, which indicated that Hayden was definitely
restricted in carrying out her plan. Thinking about that, Hayden took a deep breath and looked at
Belinda coldly.
“So, your ultimate goal of arranging this meeting is to criticize me? Belinda, you are just a shareholder
but not the authority. Here’s the company, which are operated according to rules and regulations. I am
informed that you cousins embezzled the public funds. Do you want more details of it?”
Belinda’s cousins were in a position of power before, and they even invested by the project funds. As a

Before Hayden was able to answer her, the side door of the meeting room was opened by a secretary.
In a pink suit, with her suitcase and coat in her assistant’s hands, Sofia walked towards them as she
stared at Hayden maliciously. Then she said unhappily,
“Miss Downey, I am the authority.”
