“Start.”
The emcee gave the command and the audience shouted under the stage.
The other two groups had already started to kiss each other. Hayden looked at Joseph who was still
some distance away from her and let out a sigh of relief inwardly.
“You still know how to … Um…”
Before she finished her words, Joseph already kissed her. Hayden stared at Joseph angrily as if she
didn’t believe that he really dared to kiss her.
Hayden was unable to escape from him although she tried her best to struggle. His hands were holding
her waist tightly and the two of them were touching each other. Her struggle was completely futile and
she had even used up all her strength as he was kissing her.
The emcee’s countdown was like the evening breeze and she could not hear it clearly. She could only
remember the sound of Joseph kissing her and the persistence that displayed in his eyes.
When she was still feeling ashamed, she felt like a ray of light had finally broken through the fortress
she had worked so hard to build all this time. The light penetrated a hint of sweetness into his body and
then spread throughout her body.
She closed her eyes slowly and forgot that she should try to escape from him. She just enjoyed the
sweet kiss with him.
It seemed like a long century had passed. Both of them were breathing very heavily and they were
almost drenched in sweat when the emcee finally asked them to stop.
“I think this couple still doesn’t want to finish kissing. You all have kissed for thirteen minutes and
fourteen seconds, without stopping.”
Hayden opened her eyes instantly and found that the other two couples had landed on the ground for a
long time. The couples and the emcee were watching her and Joseph. She was very embarrassed at
the moment and felt like she wanted to vanish from a hole on the ground.
“Congratulations. You two have won the first prize of the event today, a bicycle.”
Hayden buried her entire face inside her jacket and followed Joseph to get the pink bicycle while the
onlookers were cheering.
When she saw the bicycle, she muttered, “Didn’t we want the chocolate?”
Joseph looked back at her, “Then we can switch our prize with the winner of the second prize.”
“Don’t.” Hayden revealed a pair of eyes from the hood of her jacket, “The bicycle is more expensive.”
Taking two boxes of chocolates back after she had embarrassed herself was not worth it.
She wanted the bicycle.
Joseph looked at her and smiled dotingly, “Okay.”
The two of them pushed the bicycle home. Once they entered the house, they saw Benjamin lying on
the sofa watching TV wearing his dark green pyjamas.
“Where did the bicycle come from?”
He put aside the chips and sized the two of them up suspiciously.
“Got it as a gift after we purchased the items.”
Hayden didn’t look at Benjamin’s eyes and she answered Benjamin’s question before Joseph could
speak.
“How many things did you two buy then?”
Benjamin frowned as his gaze fell on Hayden’s mouth, “Hayden, why is your mouth swollen?”
“What?”
Hayden quickly covered her mouth, “Nope. I think my lipstick fell off when I ate something just now.”
“What did you two eat outside?”
Hayden didn’t answer his question. She quickly covered her mouth and ran into her bedroom, “It’s too
late. I’m going to bed now.”
Benjamin and Joseph were the only people in the living room.
Joseph parked his bicycle in the corner of the large entrance hall. He picked up the supermarket
shopping bag out of the basket of the bicycle and walked towards the bathroom with a calm
expression.
Benjamin changed his previous youthful boyish look and narrowed his eyes to size Joseph up for a
long time, “Can you be more restrained? There are still me and the two kids here.”
Joseph didn’t even look back at him, “You can move out if you don’t like it.”
“Why?” Benjamin leaned on the back of the sofa and stared at Joseph with cold eyes, “I was the first
one to live here. I have been kind enough already to share half of the bedroom with you.”
“I don’t mind sleeping on the sofa.”
Joseph stood at the door of the bathroom and looked meaningfully at the sofa that Benjamin was sitting
on.
“Don’t think that I don’t know what you’re thinking. No way.” Benjamin snorted as he lazily changed his
position to lie on the pillows, “Hayden knows what you’re thinking too. Thus, you better just stop
thinking about it and sleep in my room at night.”
He looked like he was comfortable sleeping on the sofa as if he was quite accustomed to the
environment here. Joseph frowned and he was a little displeased.
The door of the master bedroom was opened and Hayden peeked out and called out to Benjamin,
“Benjamin, come here for a while. I want to talk to you.”
Benjamin immediately replied to her as he bounced up from the sofa.
“Okay. I’m coming.”
Joseph’s face turned gloomy as he asked, “Why you don’t want to talk to him in the living room?”
Hayden sized him up and said, “Not appropriate to talk here.”
Joseph tried to understand what she meant.
Benjamin gave Joseph a scornful glance. Then he entered Hayden’s bedroom quickly and closed the
door of the bedroom.
Joseph’s face turned pale and he stared at the closed bedroom door for a long time without moving.
Hayden was looking for Benjamin as she wanted to talk to him about Viola’s matter.
“Earlier you told me that in the past three years, Joseph was the one who planned to put drugs inside
Noah’s milk powder. But in the past three years, Noah had experienced many accidents. I had been
with him when he met the three accidents these few months alone. I think he had already gotten what
he wanted, so he shouldn’t be the one who planned the accidents in these three years.”
Hayden was puzzled. Even if what happened three years ago was really done by Joseph to get extra
power in the company. Then he had no motive to do such things after Franklin left ST Group.
“Naturally the things that happen afterwards should have nothing to do with him. Hayden, did you find
out anything?”
“Viola.” Hayden showed a cold expression. “Vanessa told me that Viola was the one who planned the
fire accident. Hence, I suspect that many of the accidents that happened to Noah are related to her.”
“But Noah having an accident won’t do her any good.” Benjamin analyzed her words.
“Everyone knows that Noah is the apple of Joseph’s eyes. The reason that Viola can be with Joseph
these years is simply because Noah obeys her orders. If Noah has an accident, it won’t do her any
good as she wants to marry Joseph.”
“Then how do you explain the reason that she wanted to cause the fire accident?”
It wasn’t the first time Hayden suspected Viola. Viola had just started to work in the hotel during the
accidents the first time she met Noah and the time the crystal chandelier in the hotel fell. It wouldn’t be
such a coincidence.
Benjamin displayed a complicated look on his face. After he pondered for a moment, he said seriously,
“Viola wouldn’t be so brave to harm Joseph’s son. If she really did it, then I also suspect that there is
someone else instigating her in these matters and the person should be the one who planned the
incidents.”
“Someone from the Beckham family,” Benjamin said with certainty.
“The person wants Harrison to have no more heir so he or she has the chance to inherit the company.
Many people have this motive. The first one we should suspect is Franklin.”
“You suspect Viola collude with Franklin to do such things?”
Hayden’s expression turned serious. She never expected Benjamin would say such words.
