President’s Twins: Buy One, Get One Free Chapter 163: You Are Really Magnanimous

“You act like this because of this matter? What did Addison say to you?”

Joseph looked at her with a complicated expression.

When he could not find Hayden last night, his first thought was that perhaps she had known something.

After all, he knew that the CEO of SG Group, East China was Addison only after she had checked in

the hotel for several days.

“She didn’t say anything to me.” Hayden laughed self-deprecatingly, “She doesn’t really care about me

either. After all, she is your childhood friend, your right and proper fiancée and your beloved. What

does she need to say to me? The only thing that she needs to do is to stand next to you. You guys are

perfectly compatible with each other and this is a properly matched marriage.”

“Hayden.”

Joseph interrupted her and said in displeasure, “Do you know what are you talking about.”

“I don’t know.” Hayden turned her face, not wanting to look at him.

“If you want to hear about Addison’s matter, let’s go to your office, I can tell you. But I really don’t like a

woman who deliberately makes troubles out of nothing. You shouldn’t be this kind of person.”

Hearing this, Hayden clenched her fists. The building of thoughts she had done last whole night

collapsed the moment she saw Joseph. The loss of her rational senses turned her into a resentful

woman who deliberately made troubles out of nothing.

Although she herself also agreed with this kind of description, hearing such words from Joseph, she

still felt pain as if a knife was cutting her.

She hurriedly went into the elevator.

“Forget it, I don’t have the mood for this right now. Let’s talk about it later.”

She chose to escape as she needed a little time to digest the matter last night.

Benjamin’s luggage was already packed. A small eighteen-inch case was easy to be carried. While

hearing him talking about the overall trip planning, Hayden was distracted and she did not listen to

most of his sentences.

“You don’t look well today, are you sick?”

Benjamin frowned while gazing at her. His eyes were full of concern.

“I’m fine.” Hayden regained her presence of mind and changed the subject, “By the way, when is the

flight departure time this afternoon you mentioned just now? I’ll see you off.”

“No need, it’s at 3 p.m. You shouldn’t be able to catch it.”

“I can.” Hayden smiled faintly, “I just need to take a temporary leave.”

After leaving Benjamin’s place, Hayden directly went back to her office to work. When she passed by

the office, the majority of the employees who normally worked in the morning had come. Except for

greetings, Hayden kept feeling that they were looking at herself in a strange way.

After opening the door of her own office, she only then understood what the reason to have that kind of

strangeness was.

Joseph surprisingly did not leave and even came to her office.

“Why are you here?” Hayden’s hand gripped the doorknob and she looked stunned.

“I need to talk to you about the matter last night. If you want everyone outside to hear, I don’t mind that

you keep the door open when the conversations are on-going.”

Hayden was slightly stunned. She subconsciously glanced at the back. The office was so quiet that one

could hear a pin drop clearly. All of them were cocking their ears and it looked like they were trying to

eavesdrop.

She frowned and shut the door.

“What do you want to say?”

“Regarding the matter that Vivian is Addison, I didn’t know at all before yesterday.” Joseph came

straight to the point in which he first explained that he did not know about the relationship between

Addison and SG.

Hayden’s expression slightly eased but she did not say anything.

Joseph continued saying.

“As for the point that you think I haven’t talked to you about the matter in the past, there is nothing that I

can’t tell if you wish to know it. Addison and I are just normal friends, or like having a brother-sister

relationship. When my father was alive, he was very fond of her. There was originally a marriage

contract but since my father died, coupled with the reason that she married others, the marriage

contract became invalid.”

The situation described by him was not much different from what Kevin said but Hayden did not feel

good upon hearing this.

“I don t like to be misunderstood so I must explain this matter clearly before I leave.”

“Leave?”

Hayden raised her head, “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to Beijing to talk about the real estate development project. I’ll have to stay there for quite a

while.”

Joseph’s very low and deep voice echoed throughout the office.

It seemed that from the moment he said he was going to leave, the jealousy that Hayden originally had

in her heart and a little resentment apparently disappeared. This unexpected separation caused her to

be at her wit’s end.

“Do you have anything else to ask me?”

He asked.

Hayden looked at him and still shook her head after hesitating for a long while.

She had known everything she should know. The only thing she could not overcome was that she still

cared about the matter. Whether or not Joseph would reunite with Addison was not something she

could control. Also, whether or not she could get over her emotional conflict was not something she

could decide.

“I have a flight at two o’clock in the afternoon.”

Joseph took two steps closer to her with a complicated expression, “I hope that when I come back, I

can talk with you clearly about all the things in the past. You can ask mine as much as you want but I

also wish to know yours.”

He had investigated Hayden when they first met but the information was incoherent, especially those

when she was abroad for a few years. Apparently, it had been modified by someone and Magnus was

still unable to find out the true information despite putting in much effort.

Compared to his matter in the past that he did not intend to hide from Hayden, Hayden seemed to be

hiding more secrets when she was abroad those years.

After Joseph left, Hayden sat on the office chair alone thinking about something.

These few months were like a dream. Everything happened quickly and time also passed quickly. Her

original plan was all disrupted. As time passed, she became more and more unsure whether to tell

Joseph that she was the woman who surrogated for him that year.

The time they spent together was too short. When she thought that Joseph passionately loved her,

Addison appeared halfway out of the blue and told her that she, Hayden, was not the only woman in

the world who could be treated gently by Joseph. This easily shattered her confidence.

The sound of the phone ringtone interrupted her thoughts.

“Hayden, I’ve pried some news out of Kevin.” It was rare that Alayna’s voice on the phone sounded so

serious, “Be mentally prepared for it.”

“Say it.”

“Addison’s family members seem to be contacting Harrison in these two days, planning to discuss the

marriage in the past again.”

“Is it? This is basically not considered news.” Hayden heaved a sigh of relief and did not take this

matter seriously.

In terms of marriage, Harrison could not decide for Joseph. Regarding who he wanted to marry or even

whether or not he would get married, would all be decided by himself.

“You’re really magnanimous as you don’t seem to bother anything,” Alayna shouted at the other end of

the phone.

“If you really consider for yourself, you better go home and ask for some dowries from your father. It’s

better than totally taking nothing. I hear Kevin say that Addison’s family has put in much effort this time.

Shares, stores and properties are ready. They are planning to make every effort to let their daughter

enter the Beckham family.”

“Isn’t this selling the daughter but losing money on the contrary?” Hayden laughed, “You think I’m

stupid.”

“How come you can still laugh?” Alayna’s tone sounded that she was shocked. She corrected, “You

have to know that their action is called investment.”

“Didn’t you advise me to break up last night? Saying that such a man isn’t worth paying and retaining?”

“But regarding this matter, he hasn’t made any big mistake. It’s just that he doesn’t tell you in advance

but even if he tells you early, it’s in vain too. It will only let you feel bad and jittery in advance isn’t

it?”
