The next afternoon, Alayna drove and sent Hayden to the hotel.

“Do you want me to send you in?” Alayna teased, “Perhaps I can meet Joseph and if you are shy, I can

help you to reply.”

“Can you stop your nonsense?” Hayden rolled her eyes, “Please open the boot. Thanks for taking care

of Stella during this period.”

“No worries.” Alayna leaned back in her seat and blinked at her, “You’d better think carefully of your

situation, for example getting a stepfather for Stella. You don’t have to think of anything else.”

Hayden was speechless. Alayna kept talking about Joseph when the day started. She even suspected

that Joseph had bribed Alayna to help him hasten Hayden.

After taking her suitcase, she ensured that Alayna drove off before she went into the hotel with her

suitcase. She went to the room and swiped her room card, “How come it’s a suite?” She remarked in

surprise and walked into the room.

She didn’t look carefully when she received the message and thought that it was a regular room. When

she went to the room then she realized that all the rooms on this level were suites. What’s going on?

This suite was one of the larger ones. The bedroom and the living room were separated by a large

decorative partition. She dragged her suitcase into the bedroom and heard the bathroom door opening.

Soon after, an image that aroused her filled her eyes.

Joseph walked out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped around his waist. His hair was still

dripping with water. The drops of water trickled down his chest and onto his towel, causing her

imagination to run wild.

“Have you seen enough?” Joseph looked at her and teased.

Hayden quickly looked away and then asked anxiously, “Why are you here?”

Joseph took a step forward and asked in return, “Don’t you know that this suite has always been

reserved for me?”

“I… I didn’t know…” Hayden was shocked, “Then I must have made a mistake…” She dragged her

suitcase and turned to walk out.

Before she walked out of the partition, the electronic lock of the door sounded ‘beep beep’ audibly.

Following that was the sound of the hotel staff chatting.

Hayden’s heart froze and quickly turned to cover Joseph’s mouth and after looking around, she

dragged Joseph to hide at the linked balcony outside the bedroom and attempted to use the curtains to

hide them.

There’ll be a huge misunderstanding if anyone was to see her with Joseph like in this manner in the

room.

Hayden sighed in relief when they had hidden properly. Then her hand was forcibly pulled off and

Joseph asked her, “What are you doing?”

Hayden composed herself and looked at Joseph as she begged, “Please, I beg you to do this for me.

Just take it as helping me on account of my job.”

A thought flashed across Joseph’s eyes as he looked at her pitiful manner. He slowly took a step closer

to her. Hayden’s expression changed and she took a step back. He took another step closer. Hayden

felt her entire back was cold as she backed into a cold glass panel. There was no place to retreat

anymore and it didn’t look like Joseph would stop. He held onto her shoulders and pressed her against

the glass. He leaned in and blocked all the sunlight from her.

“Release me.” Hayden lowered her voice as her face turned pale with horror.

How did she forget that Joseph was practically a scoundrel when they together in private? Why did she

drag him in? Wasn’t it better to leave him in the room to handle the hotel staff? What happened to you?

Hayden!

Joseph was initially teasing her and didn’t think much of it but he found it particularly adorable when he

saw that she went from shy to being furious. She looked like she wanted to devour him but yet she

couldn’t and was like an insane wild cat.

“Why is there a suitcase here?” Suddenly the hotel staff said and both of them were stunned.

Hayden’s face went pale as her heart pounded as she ground her teeth and glared at Joseph as if to

warn him that she’ll bite him if he dared to do anything.

“It’s Mr. Beckham’s suitcase. He had arrived at noon. Aren’t we going to receive the VIPs tomorrow?

Mr. Beckham will accompany them throughout and so he will be staying at the hotel for the entire

period.”

“Oh, then where is Mr. Beckham? Isn’t he here?”

“He must have gone out. Hey, put it down. Don’t anyhow touch Mr. Beckham’s things. Let’s not clean

up the bedroom first.”

“Thank goodness you remembered. I almost forgot.”

The noise of them tidying up the room went quiet and Hayden heaved a sigh of relief.

Before she could complete her sigh, she heard them talking again but now they lowered their voices.

“Ally, had Mr. Beckham and Ms. Downey done those things?”

“You heard it too? This had been the gossip of the hotel. That day when Lillian wanted to commit

suicide, Mr. Beckham carried Ms. Downey in front of so many people. You’d be blind if you didn’t

realize what that meant.”

“So does it mean that the marriage between Mr. Beckham and Viola is canceled?”

“Who knows, Ms. Downey also has a family. Her daughter is already so big and yet she did something

like this. How shameless is that! I admired her in the past but now it looked like she slept her way up to

become the manager of this hotel.”

“Yeah, I think so too. I even heard that her husband gave her a room full of roses. Then almost

immediately she’s involved with Mr. Beckham. She must have some effective tactics. So many women

couldn’t even get close to our Mr. Beckham and I wonder what tactic did she use?”

“What else could it be but those kinds of skills on the bed?”

Hayden was speechless as she clenched her fists. She frowned deeply and her expression turned

dark. She knew that there would be plenty of gossips after that day and was mentally prepared for it.

But it was one thing being prepared and another thing personally hearing it.

Joseph looked down towards her and saw her expression of fury gradually changing. The way she

endured in agony made his heart ache.

He released his hand and then went to open the door. Immediately the sunlight shone into the room.

“Mr. Beckham…” The two voices were stunned and sounded terrified.

“I see that you can talk about these so well behind our backs. Why don’t you say it in front of us? Who

in the hotel is spreading these and what are they saying?”

When the two staff saw Joseph and Hayden, they became terrified as if they had seen a ghost. They

were so shocked that they couldn’t even speak properly.

“Mr. Beckham, we also heard it from others and simply repeated it. We were wrong to do that. We

didn’t see anything. How could you have anything to do with Ms. Downey? We were wrong to gossip.”

“Really?” Joseph looked at the two staff coldly.

“You all had spread the news very well. There is far more between Ms. Downey and I than what you all

are gossiping about.”

When Hayden heard this, she immediately looked at Joseph in surprise. Before she could defend

herself, her cold back was being wrapped by a warm arm as he held her hand and said to both the

hotel staffs, “Are you seeing this clearly now?”
