Stella kept rattling on about last night during breakfast.

“The bed in our room was so small. Uncle Joseph didn’t even get to stretch his legs because he was so

huge, and Noah got squeezed into a compact biscuit.”

Benjamin was eating porridge, and he almost got choked by the way Stella describe their room. He

tried to hold it in, but he ended up spurted out porridge out of his nose.

Stella ran away from the table in fear.

“You’re gross, Uncle Benjamin.”

“I’m so sorry, Stella…”

Hayden lowered her head and tried to keep a straight face.

Hayden swore that she didn’t expect Joseph to sleep with the children after he got locked out of the

room by Benjamin. The double-decker bed in that room was design for children ageing about twelve to

thirteen years old.

Didn’t Joseph felt suffer to sleep in such a small space in his height?

“Do you feel that it’s funny?” Joseph looked at Hayden with a long face, “Last night…”

“I've done eating,” Hayden was afraid that Joseph would say anything that was child-inappropriate, so

she quickly stood up and grabbed her bag, “I need to go back to the office. I didn’t read the news last

night. Something might happen.”

Then, Hayden quickly left the scene without looking back.

The room became silent after Hayden shut the door. Stella left the table and returned to her room as

well. Only Joseph and Benjamin were at the table.

“Don’t blame me. You said you didn’t want to get into the room last night, so I thought you would rather

sleep on the couch than sleeping with me. Who knows you would go and sleep with the children?”

Benjamin blinked his eyes and acted innocent. Joseph’s face scrunched up, and he tried his very best

to hold the thought of beating Benjamin up.

Benson came to Hayden’s office instantly after Hayden arrived at the office. He reported the changes in

the netizen public opinion data last night.

“It seemed stable at the moment, but it was initially a slow time for public opinions from 12 am-midnight

to 5 am-morning, so we shouldn’t depend entirely on the data we have now. I’m worried that the

public’s response might accelerate later on. Ms. Downey, we should discuss the backup plan.”

“It’s alright,” Hayden looked calm, “There’s no need for discussion. Go back to your work. Just be

prepared for the press conference this afternoon. Focus on your duties before the press conference.”

Dante walked into the office as Hayden was talking. Hayden waved at him after she saw him. “Great

timing. Dante, please close the door. I have something to talk to you two.”

Dante turned around and saw a shadow hid behind the door.

He gave the direction a cold glance and closed the door behind him.

“Hayden planned to tell the media that she had already disowned her father since long time ago, and

she is going to use Brook Downey’s will as a prove to deny her involvement with Downey Group.”

Campbell locked the washroom door and explained the action plan he eavesdropped just now to the

person over the phone.

“I see. Thank you.”

“Mr. Barton, now that we knew about their last card, can I leave this place?”

“Don’t rush.”

Mr. Barton replied with a perfunctory tone, “It’s not done. Wait until after the press conference.”

“I can’t.”

Campbell panicked, “I can’t wait after the press conference. You won’t allow the press conference to

held smoothly either, right? If I resign after Green Lemon Clothing announced bankruptcy, what would

people think of me?”

“It is only normal if you leave after they are going bankrupt.”

“No, it’s not like that. Mr. Barton, please, listen to me…”

“So be it. I got to go.”

“Hello? Mr. Barton…”

The phone hung up before Campbell could speak up. Looking at the phone screen, Campbell

scratched his head in a fret. He felt like smashing his phone into pieces.

Campbell wasn’t an idiot. Based on Mr. Barton’s attitude just now, Campbell was suspecting that the Yi-

Pai Clothing wasn’t going to keep their promise.

Magnus took time out of his schedule and came out of the office in the afternoon.

When Magnus arrived at the restaurant, he was surprised to see Joseph having lunch with the children.

“Mr. Beckham, you could have given me directions over the phone. You won’t need to come here in

person.”

“They wanted to dine in this place, and I thought it is quite near to your place, so I asked you to come

over.”

Magnus knew Joseph wasn’t here for him at all. It was just that Joseph came here purposely to have

lunch, and so happened Magnus lived nearby, so Joseph conjured him.

“How’s the manpower arrangement for the press conference later?”

“It’s done.”

Magnus guaranteed, “They are experts in combat, and I believe they can control the crowd. If anyone

dares to start a fight, he’ll have consequences to face.”

“Great.” Joseph nodded.

“Oh, the investigation is almost done.”

“How was it?”

“Caesar only had a few bodyguards six years ago. I found two of them working as a trainer in a gym.

They said they were looking for somebody at a bar during the night on 18th June.”

“Looking for somebody?” Joseph frowned, “Who were they looking for?”

“A girl.”

Magnus whispered, but he never noticed Stella slowed down with her food and was trying to

eavesdrop.

“They said that the caretaker asked them to find that girl, then send her to the suite in ST Hotel after

blindfolding and giving her the meds.”

Joseph recalled what happened six years ago. He was feeling tipsy that night. The lights in the room

were off, and he didn’t bother to know how the surrogate mother looked. The girl was blindfolded. It

seemed like she was on drug based on how aggressive she was that night.

“But they said they didn’t find the girl that night.”

Magnus’s voice pulled Joseph back from his memory, “What?”

Joseph was surprised.

Caesar didn’t send the surrogate mother into the hotel room six years ago, but Joseph did have sex

with a girl that night. Caesar even told him that the girl was pregnant and brought him a baby boy after

eight months.

Magnus looked at Joseph and continued, “I’ve asked them a few times to make sure, but they assured

me that they never found that girl that night. All of them went looking, and they even searched the

whole street. It was almost midnight when Caesar asked them to stop looking. What’s strange is that

after a month, Caesar asked them to kidnap a young girl who was about to have an abortion surgery

from a hospital.”

Joseph could saw what happened now when all the pieces added up.

The real surrogate mother didn’t show up that night for whatever reason, and another girl got sent into

his room by mistake.

No wonder…
