She Is Not Yours
Sasha shook her head.
“No. He’s been trying to approach Sab for quite a while now. Back at the Aquene Temple, he didn’t
notice that I knew he wasn’t Devin. He was acting rather intimate toward Sab.”
Sebastian’s face turned ashen. “Is Sabrina cognizant of this?”
Sasha sighed before answering, “I’m not sure. As you already know, Sab can be quite dense
sometimes. That being said, she should know to stay away from Edmund. She’s been keeping her
distance from him in the past when I wasn’t around.”
“Also, about Devin. It seems like he has a lot of trust for Edmund. When you were busy rescuing me,
he let Edmund take care of Sab at the Oceanic Estate. I really can’t believe he…”
Sasha was reticent to say anything more.
If Devin keeps on being this careless, Sab will unequivocally get taken away from him.
With a minatory look on his face, Sebastian responded, “I understand now. Don’t worry. I’ll take care of
this.” He then resumed to eat the beef steak.
“Okay!”
The vise that had been gripping Sasha’s heart all day long finally loosened up.
That night, after all the guests were gone, Edmund was called to the study room by Sebastian.
Mr. Jadeson is calling for me?
Upon hearing that Sebastian was asking for him, Edmund felt chills down his spine.
Having composed himself, he strode toward the study room.
A while later, Sasha, who was cleaning up with the housemaid in the living room, saw the ashen look
on Edmund’s face as he exited the study room.
He looked like a furtive villain who had just been exposed.
Sasha kept on glaring at Edmund as he gloomily left the Oceanic Estate.
It seems like he’s been taught a lesson.
Sasha was delighted.
After a few minutes, Devin was also called to the study room.
“Sebastian, you asked for me?”
“Yes. I’d like to know about your future arrangements for Edmund.”
Sebastian went straight to the point.
Devin truthfully replied, “I plan to move him to the senate. He’s been a great help to us during this
quagmire. Without him, it’d be hard for us to take control of the Coopers’ family business.”
“Hmm, I don’t think you should move him to the senate. He doesn’t possess the necessary
qualifications for that yet. You should send him back to Yorksland for training first. This is to prevent
people from thinking that you are misusing your authority,” replied Sebastian.
Devin must’ve overlooked Edmund’s behavior due to his trust and gratitude for him.
After all, Edmund did help him out when he was in a plight.
The two of them were the ones who killed Benedict back then.
Hence, I can’t bring myself to tell Devin the truth about Edmund. It’d be a shame if the precious bond
that they share gets broken just because of a woman.
Devin had a bewildered look on his face. “With his current ability, I think he’s more than capable to
handle a position at the senate. Honestly, I just want what’s best for him.”
“Do you want the Jadesons to fall apart?”
Sebastian gave Devin a frigid gaze to shut him up.
Moments after Devin left the study room, he gave Edmund a call and informed him of the bad news.
However, Edmund was rather nonchalant about the news.
Meanwhile, Sabrina, who was lulling the kids to sleep, lifted her head up to glance at Devin.
“Why are you calling him at this hour? You’re going to wake the kids. Hang up the call.”
“Yes, Darling.”
Devin gave Edmund a terse goodbye and hung up the phone.
After Devin hung up the call, Edmund glanced around the desolated garden that he was in.
His eyes looked lifeless and despondent.
He then opened his smartphone and blocked all his recent contacts.
Later that night, he left Jadeborough.
After fifteen days had passed, Jadeborough reverted to its usual bustling state.
With that, the Jadesons were also doing very well.
Seeing as such, Sasha wanted to visit the kids at Miralaea.
“Sebby, I miss them a lot. Can I please go and see them? Don’t worry, I won’t bring them back here
since that abhorrent old man is still on the loose.”
