Returning from the Dead: His Secret Lover
Sabrina passed her child for Shin to look after and left with Sasha without a word.
As expected, when they arrived at the underground cave, everything was destroyed.
Hence, the duo started searching the underground cave.
Sabrina commented, “There’s nothing here. A cunning person like Eddie will not leave any clues
behind.”
Having been in this together with Sasha for some time now, she was able to deduce some logic from
the situation.
Sasha frowned.
Sabrina was right. However, as smart as Eddie could be, there must be some clues that he left behind
inadvertently.
Sasha stood there and tried to solve the mystery. Suddenly, she thought of the ice cellar. “Right, let’s
take a look in the ice cellar.”
Ten minutes later, they showed up at the ice cellar.
Fortunately, the ice cellar was located underground. The last explosion did not shatter the place as it
was sheltered from the impact.
Sasha held on to torchlight and walked in the entrance. She swiftly located the ice cellar that she and
Edmund previously discovered.
Sabrina followed her from the back, shivering at the sight of the scene. “The corpse lying there is really
Louis?”
Sasha answered while searching the place. “Yes. This is where we found his secret. Since he hid his
brother’s corpse here, there must be something else.”
Sabrina also helped her to look around.
After searching high and low, Sasha finally discovered something. “It appears to be some notebook
scraps that were not destroyed completely.”
Sabrina shined the torchlight at the scrap papers and confirmed Sasha’s findings.
Indeed, it was some scrap pages of a burnt notebook.
However, Sasha was confused as the handwriting did not belong to Eddie. She knew that for a fact
because she had seen his notebook before.
Sasha collected all the scrap pages and started piecing them together. “The North Sea, it appears to
say so.”
“Yes, there’s even a map. Check it out.” Sabrina pointed to the part that she formed.
A few minutes later, they managed to form a comprehensible picture.
Sasha uttered, “It is regarding the strategy for the North Sea War.”
Sabrina nodded. “Right!”
Next, she took up a piece of scrap paper which appeared to be some sort of a map, marked with a red
dot.
She recalled the lessons in history and asked, “The North Sea War is a famous piece of history. If it
weren’t for the war, the new government would not be formed. And this war was led by the famous
leader, Louis Limmer. Does the handwriting belong to him?”
Sasha shook his hand, “Of course not. Eddie mentioned before that he was the strategist behind Louis.
If indeed the war was led by Louis, Eddie would be the person writing off the notebook.”
“You are right,” Sabrina recalled the conversation.
If it does not belong to Louis, who else can it be?
“Hold on. Check this out, what do you think this is?” Sasha suddenly noticed something on the scrap
pages.
Sabrina immediately looked towards it.
She noticed a signature at the end of the page. Some people had such a habit of putting their name
down as a signature. That was likely the case.
They saw the word ‘dith’.
Judith?
Can it be… Judith?
The duo widened their eyes in shock and looked at each other.
Sabrina exclaimed, “This belongs to your grandmother?”
Sasha did not reply.
At that moment, the discovery stirred up rippling emotions within her.
If the notebook belongs to my grandmother, does that mean that she is the leader of the North Sea
War?
Why is her notebook here? Why is it burnt?
Besides, what does the red dot mean?
Overwhelmed, Sasha stared mindlessly at the scrap pages. She then turned away and started
frantically searching the ice cellar again.
Sabrina quickly assisted her.
Finally, to their pleasant surprise, they found some writing on the singlet worn by Louis.
‘Dear descendants, when you discover this letter, I believe I have passed on for a long time. As a failed
leader, I am extremely regretful for causing the upheaval in the country. I am ashamed and have
disappointed all my comrades. I, Louis Limmer, am guilty!’
These words were written on the front of the singlet.
