Chapter 129 - A handsome face appeared in front of her. (2)

“We, too, moved her just this year. This place had been emptied this entire time. I am glad you have moved now. Now we can keep each other company.” As she spoke, she handed over the chestnuts that she had brought with her. “These are chestnuts given to us by our relatives. They are nice and soft. Have some.”

Tong Xuelu was never a fan of the whole pushing things back and forth culture. If she was to live here, it’d be normal to give each other food as neighbors in the future.

As such, she didn’t not decline her. She accepted Shen Wanrong’s offer with a smile. “Why thank you, Grandma Shen, chestnuts are delicious in the fall.”

Shen Wanrong, too, did not enjoy the back and forth tradition. She was even more pleased with Tong Xuelu when Tong Xuelu just accepted her food.

Suddenly, a chubby little girl came running out from the yard. “Grandma, where did you go? Zhuzhu didn’t you when she woke up!”

A big smile appeared on Shen Wanrong when she saw her granddaughter. “Don’t run so fast. Be careful not to trip and fall.”

Right after she had said that, the little stopped in her tracks right away. She plopped down onto the ground then tilted sideway. “Oh, Grandma. I fell. I need a hug from you!”

Tong Xuelu, “……”

She was already such an actress at her young age. How would she be after she had grown up?

Her acting was, however, a bit on the sloppy side.

Shen Wanrong was already used to it. Smiling, she walked over to pick up her granddaughter and she scolded her gently, “The ground is very dirty. You shouldn’t just lay down like that. You will need to change out of your clothes again.”

Wei Zhuzhu pouted. “I fell, Grandma. We can just pat the dust off my clothes. Who were you talking you, Grandma?”

Shen Wanrong, “A new neighbor just moved in and Grandma came over to say hi to them.”

“You mean that Big Sister?” Wei Zhuzhu looked over at Tong Xuelu and her eyes beamed right away. “Big Sister is so pretty! Hurry up and bring me over there, Grandma! I want to see pretty Big Sister!”

Shen Wanrong carried her granddaughter over and smiled helplessly, “Pardon us. This child had always like pretty people and things.”

Wasn’t that like everyone?

Tong Xuelu, who totally judged books by their covers, expressed that she understood. “I like pretty people too.”

Wei Zhuzhu’s eyes beamed more when she heard that. “I knew it. All pretty people think alike. Grandpa said this is called ‘great minds think alike’!”

Tong Xuelu chuckled from the little girl’s confidence. What a funny child.

Shen Wanrong smiled a doting and helpless smile.

At this very moment, Tong Jiaxin walked out from the house and happened to be seen by Lu Shao Wei Zhuzhu.

Wei Zhuzhu immediately struggles to get off. “Hurry up and put me down, Grandma. I saw a pretty Big Brother!”

Tong Jiaxin paused a little when he heard that: A pretty Big Brother? Was she referring to him? She’s got good taste then!

Wei Zhuzhu was 6 years old and was a little bit taller than most kids. Shen Wanrong had a difficult time holding her when she struggled.

Wei Zhuzhu jumped out of her grandmother’s embrace and rushed in front of Tong Jiaxin like a firecracker. “Hi Big Brother. I am Wei Zhuzhu. What’s your name?”

“Wei Zhuzhu?” Tong Jiaxin’s eyes widened and he busted out laughing. “Lucky your parents named you Zhuzhu, else you would be ‘feed the pig’ (Wei Zhu), hahahahaha……”

Tong Xuelu, “……” This was exactly what it meant by spare the rod, spoil the child.

Shen Wanrong was the one embarrassed earlier and now it was Tong Xuelu’s turn. “I apologize. My little brother sometimes don’t think things though. I’ll teach him a lesson in a little bit!”

Shen Wanrong smiled and waved her hand. “It’s alright. The kids and resolve their issues between themselves.”

Wei Zhuzhu, however, was not a petty one. “Big Brother, I will forgive you this one time because you are pretty. But you still haven’t told me your name.”
