Chapter 350 - How could there be such horrible person? (2)

Su Yueshen smiled when he saw how well his son got along with the Tong family. “C’mon in, Comrade Tong. Xiao Jiu had been talking about you all morning long.”

Once they walked inside the yard, they could see a spacious yard with flowers and fruit trees. It was obvious that the flowers and fruit trees were newly planted.

Surrounding them were open walkways and artificial rocks. The room and the buildings were aged and valuable both in the way they looked and their values.

Tong Xuelu was envious all over again. What she wouldn’t do to have a house like this.

Entering the house, Tong Xuelu met Father and Mother Su. Su Yueshen’s younger brother was not home today but there was an extra person inside the living room.

A beautiful woman.

She was around 24 ~ 25 years old in age, her skin fair, her eyes almond-shaped, and her lips red. Her brows were dark and her lips red without any makeup on. Most importantly, she exuded a sickly temperament.

Women like her made men want to protect them naturally.

Tong Xuelu knew who she was right away – mother of Xiao Jiu.

Meeting her now answered Tong Xuelu’s question of why an intelligent man like Su Yueshen would marry such a fool for his wife.

Even heroes like beautiful women.

“You have finally arrived,” said Mother Su as she walked up to Tong Xuelu.

Tong Xuelu handed over the snacks that she had brought with her. “Hi Grandma and Grandpa Su. Thank you for your invitation today.”

Mother Su smiled and said, “It’s no trouble. We will be happy if you can come over more often.”

After some small talk, Su Yueshen introduced Gu Yilan to them. “This is Yilan, Xiao Jiu’s mother. Yilan, this is Comrade Tong, the one who saved Xiao Jiu.”

Gu Yilan studied Tong Xuelu and she looked surprised. “Comrade Tong is so pretty. She’s prettier than I am."

As soon as Gu Yilan started talking, Tong Xuelu had an even better idea how they could not informed the police ten days after Xiao Jiu had gone missing.

Gu Yilan was like a caged bird that had been well protected for its entire life. She was untouched by earthly matters and knew nothing about them.

She wondered how long this couple would last.

Nevertheless, that did not concern her.

Tong Xuelu smiled and said, “You are too nice, Comrade Gu. I figured that Xiao Jiu’s parents would be a very good looking couple. You have proved me right today.”

Gu Yilan blushed from being praised. She smiled like a shy girl.

Xiao Jiu, after showing Tong Mianmian his room, returned with snacks that he had saved up to share with everyone else.

The two little kids walked over holding hands with each other.

Tong Mianmian hid behind her sister shyly after seeing that there were so many people around.

Tong Xuelu had her greeted the others and asked her what she had seen.

Tong Mianmian’s eyes were sparkly. “Big Sister, Xiao Jiu’s room is very big and very pretty. And he has a lot of candies and crackers.”

Tong Xuelu, “Would you like to have your own room as well?”

The little bun shook her head like a rattle drum. “No, Mianmian wants to sleep with Big Sister.”

Not liking to be left out, Xiao Jiu quickly walked up on his short little legs. “Big Sister Xuelu, do you know what my name is?”

Tong Xuelu, “Isn’t your name Xiao Jiu?”

Xiao Jiu shook his head. “Xiao Jiu is just my nickname. My real name is Su Yitong. Yi as in dream big and Tong as in winter. Soon I will be able to write my own name!”

Tong Xuelu lifted her brows slightly.

She felt that he had grown up so much in this short amount of time.

When she first met Xiao Jiu, he was very clueless. All he remembered was that his name was Xiao Jiu. Now he was able to explain the meaning of his name to others.

Obviously, he wasn’t a stupid boy. The Gu family just did a terrible job raising him.

Tong Xuelu looked over to Gu Yilan. The latter did not seem ashamed at all. Quite the contrary, she looked very proud.

Yup, she was a simple woman indeed.

Nothing wrong with being simple. At least she was a happy one.
