Chapter 340 - What a beast he is! (1)

Tong Xuelu headed straight to the kitchen to make dessert when she got home that night.

She had promised Tong Mianmian to make her yummy food when she was running a fever. The little bun, however, still had a sore throat. Tong Xuelu didn’t want to have anything that could irritate her throat.

As such, she had soaked some green beans before she headed in to work today.

They would be perfect to make green bean cake with now.

As she would be visiting the Wen’s the next day, she decided to make an extra serving as well as some biscuits.

She had made some extra jerky and beef meatballs and was going to mail them to Wen Rugui tomorrow. Now she could just give them to him in person tomorrow.

Tong Mianmian smiled happily when she saw the food. It was a very sweet smile.

“You are my favorite, Big Sister!”

Tong Xuelu’s heart ached when she noticed that Tong Mianmian had lost some weight from her illness. “Big Sister likes Mianmian a lot too.”

Tong Jiaxin walked over swaying his butt from side to side while eating his green bean cake and said, “Haven’t you always said that Second Brother was your favorite, Mianmian? Oh, I get it. You’ve had a change of heart. You are a bad little girl!”

Tong Mianmian’s mouth formed into an O shape as thought she was say, “Oh no! I am a bad girl. What should I do?”

Tong Xuelu’s heart quivered when she saw the dazed look on Tong Mianmian.

She brought her siblings to the study after they had finished their snacks.

On and off, she had finally finished reading all of the junior high school textbooks. It progressed slowly but she was able to absorb most of the information.

She pulled out the senior high school textbooks. She had thought that they would be simple but she was surprised.

The senior high school syllabus now was very different than what was in the modern time. It was not difficult per se, but many of the learning points were very different.

Most importantly, she had forgotten most of her knowledge from senior high school. As much as she was a valedictorian, she had to accept the fact that she would need to start all over again from the ground up.

Luckily the college entrance examination would not be resuming for another year. She had plenty of time to ready herself.

Granted, she couldn’t underestimate it too much. From history, 5.7 million people took the examination the year that it was resumed but only 270,000 of them were accepted into universities. That was what you’d call one in a million.

As such, she would really need to buckle down in the future and learn the knowledge inside and out.

Tong Xuelu had an idea when she glanced over the physics textbook.

She didn’t get to see Wen Rugui very often. She should have him tutor her physics tomorrow.

Tong Xuelu’s lips couldn't help but curved upward when she thought how Wen Rugui would blush when he was shy.

The military compound.

As soon as Old Mr. Wan returned to the military compound, he went over to gloat to his neighbor Old Mr. Jiang.

He gloated so much that Old Mr. Jiang finally kicked him out and he went home with the steamed date cake.

Wen Rugui started cleaning the place up with Uncle Zong as soon as he got home.

Their place was not messy but it would be Tong Xuelu’s first time here the next day and he wanted to make sure that everything was perfect.

Uncle Zong had the same thought.

Old Mr. Wan felt very complacent. He even went to chat with Xiao Qi and Xiao Ba and informed them that they would be eaten in the near future.

Xiao Qi and Xiao Ba shuddered in fear and barely ate anything for dinner that night.

The next day, Tong Xuelu purchased all the ingredients that the restaurant would need and finished making the soup for malatang before she took off for the rest of the day.

Guo Weiping had yet to be able to run the whole show but he could at least handle something simple like this.

Tong Xuelu had just stepped out of the restaurant when she saw Wen Rugui waiting outside the restaurant on his bicycle.

The sun in early winter casted upon him and turned his hair a gold color. He looked like he was glowing.

Enveloped by the sunlight, he smiled at her. He was both warm and handsome.
